Perfect place to get away and enjoy the beauty of Corn Island, at the best beach on the island. Helen and Don were excellent hosts.

A perfect spot to relax, and enjoy the breeze off the ocean. The house is across the road from a beautiful, untouched beach. Check in and communication were great, and the house has everything you need to make you feel at home. Looking forward to returning.

I’m thoroughly impressed by not only the top notch service but more so the genuine kindness and willingness to accommodate any and all of our needs while at the same time allowing complete privacy. If I had to sum up our 21 day stay in a word it would be EPIC! And for the record, You need not look any further than this truly magical “home” on Corn Island 🏝
Thank you tremendously for having us!

Beautiful place, very friendly hosts
We stayed on big corn island in January 2021, so there weren't many tourists there at the time.
The tree house was beautiful. Well built with attention to artistic detail.
It is all a bit rustic but overall it was very comfortable and we had a very cold refrigerator, a propane stove, all kinds of kitchen utensils, a french press and several fans.
There is no daily housekeeping.
The beach at the property is on the east side, so it gets all the strong waves from the open ocean. It was fun to play in the waves with the boogie boards that were provided by our hosts but snorkeling or kayaking wasn't possible.
We've been told that the waves are not always this big.
However, when the ocean is calmer, I think this is the best beach on the island.
We visited the west beach (picnic beach) a couple of times and didn't like it as much. The water is very calm but there was always very loud music.
Lady Helen cooked us breakfast and dinner on request and it was always really good.
The owners are very nice and accommodating and helped us with everything we needed.
There can be noise from motorvycles as the cabin is right by the road but it's only every once in a while and it was quiet at night. There are other cabins that are further away from the road. We slept fine.
Great, sort of casual place to stay. Loved the friendly dogs and horses grazing on the beach. There are several good restaurants within 5-10 minute walking distance. Otherwise the bicycles are great or taxis for around $1 per ride. Good location!

Warning - Do not stay here - Not a tree house- Very Dirty
I am a professional travel photographer and this was literally my worst experience with a vacation rental in my life. First of all this was not a tree house, but a house on a hill. The pictures depicted must be from at least 10 years ago, as the residence is in very rundown condition. There was mold, grime and mildew throughout the room. It was on a noisy road with people drag racing at 7am and construction being conducted next door. The owner, Don Weber and his wife, Kathy, were not friendly or welcoming in any way. On the contrary, Kathy, cursed at me, when I unknowingly used a dryer, attached to my room. It was a surreal experience tray I do not wish upon anyone looking to relax. There were suitcases and other items that were being stored in my room during the stay. The beach, in front of the hotel was filled with garbage. I would stay anywhere aside from this place. At least if the people were friendly it would have helped. Hope this helps some people avoid the same problems, my girlfriend and I had. Good luck and please take my advice. Disgusting room and rude staff

Excellent stay at Don's Tree House
The Tree House is a great place to stay on a quiet beach with a long stretch of perfect sand. Don was very accommodating with offering to pick is up and take us to the airport. The location is great as it has a nice breeze on that side of the island. Helen cooked us an amazing lobster dinner and breakfast right near the beach. I highly recommend this property. We enjoyed it as much or more than staying in Little Corn. Don't miss out if coming to the islands to stay at a nice little property.

Excellent and has shown
My stay was delightful. Both Cathy and her First Lady Helen are always there if needed but never in any way intrusive. The room is well appointed and clean. No problems ar all. As a world traveler this has been one of the nicest stays. I would recommend to anyone for a place to enjoy your stay on the ocean.

Great vacation spot
We really loved our stay at Treehouse

We spent almost 10 days in the treehouse and we enjoyed it very much. It was near the sea and the little walk to the mainstream for taking taxi, was also good. There is only a little piece of the street, which isn't paved. With a taxi you arrive everywhere.
The hosts are very friendly and can give you the advices you need. Helene is very friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed very much her Lobster-Dinner. We recommend at least a dinner at the treehouse!
We would return without doubt at this stay! Thanks for all!

Perfect location !
In keeping with the style and feel of the island, the Tree House is the perfect option for staying on Corn Island. Helen, who takes care of things year round does an excellent job. She is an excellent cook, who for a small fee will cook you a meal when you don't want to go out or cook for yourself. Need some laundry done just ask Helen and she will get it done. Without a word of a lie my white t-shirt has never been so white as when Helen washed it. Don and Cathy, who own the property, went all out to make us feel comfortable. It was more like staying with friends than renting a place to stay. The location, right on the beach was the best. In our two weeks there we never saw a better beach. We rented both the Tree House and the Crows Nest and it was the perfect family vacation.

Amazing beach front getaway
This was one of the best places we've ever stayed. The beach is amazing and very private, often completely empty. Accommodations are as advertised. The meals, which you can choose to buy, were much better than the restaurants and much cheaper. 3 lobster tails, salad, platanos, and rice for 12 usd. That fed 2 people easily.
It is off the beaten path. You may need to walk 10 mins to get a cab (or have the owner call one for you). Cabs only cost a buck or u can rent bikes. We were looking for a private spot so this wasn't a problem at all.
We were comfortable without air conditioning. The fans are good and there's a nice breeze.

An absolutely charming cabin in the trees on the beach!!
Treehouse escape was exactly what you got, it felt like we were leaving the rat race behind and living a simple, comfortable, relaxing life with the sound of the waves crashing to send you to sleep at night. We enjoyed rum and coke on the balcony watching fireflies and seeing stars. This is a very undevelpoed little slice of paradise. Cathy was a wondeful host and Helen cooked lovely dinners when reqeusted. Would thoroughly recommend this to anyone who likes to get away from all those commercial type holiday properties.

Lovely place to stay on Corn Island!
Great place! Enjoyed our trip! If you stay here, make sure you have Helen make you dinner. She is the best cook on the island!

Beautiful beach, comfortable, clean accommodations
The treehouse is a charming studio apartment on Long Bay, Big Corn Island. Beach is beautiful soft sand with breezes that keep the temperatures comfortable & the bugs away. Don & Kathy have recruited some excellent staff- what would any of us do without Helen? Would definitely stay there again. The treehouse is set up to be used independently & the hosts generally don't spend a ton of time with the guests which was No problem as Helen is the go to for whatever might be needed.
Be advised that some degree of fitness is helpful as the house is up at the end of the beach & taxis can have trouble negotiating the road if it's really rainy. It's a flat walk or bike of about 700 meters to the paved road.

Too good to be true
Don's place is exceptional. The room had everything we needed and more. Hot showers were a delight.
The most unbelievable beach is right at your doorstep. It felt like we rented a private island.
This place is a gem, with genuinely gracious hospitality. Safe. Serene. Authentic - unlike Little Corn which is far more touristy.

Perfect place for holidays
At the begining of our vacations, we planed to stay one week there, but in front of this fantastic place we finally stayed three weeks.
We stayed there in september and were alone on the beach most of the time. The house is very nice with a fridge, a kitchen, a nice bathroom, a big bed and a nice balcony. The house was cleaned every day.
Our guests were very kind with us and always hepfull.
We had great moments and really recommand this place.
The luxury is to be alone in front of the sea and it was the case for us.

Perfect honeymoon
My wife and I just spent a week as part of our honeymoon. We've always loved Corn Island, and I had heard about this place from friends. This place is amazing, it lacks nothing. Its quiet, private, and in one of the most beautiful locations on the Island. When we arrived the room was spotlessly clean and stocked with everything we needed (even coffee). Miss Rachel's cooking is great and quite reasonably priced, although the room also has a very functional kitchen with a full set of dishes and utensils if you want to cook for yourself and save.
The bathroom was a highlight for us as well, Until now I have not seen a proper hot water system in Nicaragua. No suicide showers here. Full pressure hot and cold running water, and beautifully decorated with Island themes with shells and sea glass. This place really lacks nothing, I don't know why anyone would waste their money on some of the more expensive places on the Island. Its even directly on the beach, I could spend hours on the veranda watching the waves and smelling the sea breeze.

Paradise Found
My husband and I visited here in December for my birthday unfortunately it rained almost everyday of our trip. However, it was still one of the most amazing locations we have ever been to. The The house is amazing if you are looking for a true Swiss Family Robinson adventure this is it. The island has almost no tourism most people head to Little Corn which is not really our style. When you arrive at the airport ask for the cab driver Arturo he was extremely helpful he only speaks Spanish, but this was not a prolem for us. Don and his family are helpful and welcoming but yet still give you more than enough privacy. I can not wait to return!

If you're looking for a tropical adventure you'll find it here!
We stayed for not quite 2 weeks in the Tree House and it was perfect. In February there were no bugs to be had. Island life is relaxing. You're better off if you can speak a LITTLE Spanish if you want to make trips to the market easier, but everyone at the house speaks English. But you get some fresh fruit for breakfast and look out the window to the beach while you eat. Bike around the island, hang out on the beach in front of the big house. Take a hike to the beach on the other side for water that's as still as glass. It's not for people who want to sip cocktails by the pool all day, but who wants that when you can have a vacation that gives you a new perspective on how you live your life? Loved every second of being there. If we were the type to do a vacation twice we would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Absolutely Perfect
My boyfriend and I spent several days in Granada before heading to Corn Island. We thoroughly enjoyed the colorful and historic city, and regretted having to leave. However, when the plane landed on Corn Island, we knew we had found something very special. The island is just slightly larger than a postage stamp, covered in palm trees, surrounded by perfect blue ocean. We grabbed a cab and headed for Long Bay. I've traveled extensively, but never have I seen anything as beautiful as what we saw when we departed the paved, and drove up the sandy road that leads to the Lodge at Long Bay. Blue ocean gave way to white waves, gave way to bright green water, to white sand, to the palms that surround the most perfect vacation spot I've ever seen. We stayed at the Tree House, and were floored at the value of this private paradise. The beach was the stuff of legend, sugary white sand with hardly another soul in sight. Don and Kathy were excellent hosts, as were the caretakers, Jesse and Helen. Fresh coconuts are available to compliment your breakfast, and Helen makes phenomenal lobster on the grill. The accommodations were nothing short of perfect. Breezy balcony over looking the beach. Hot showers. Comfortable bed. This place is heavenly! We took a snorkel trip with Yellow Tail at Sandy Peachy, and highly recommend them. Doña Lola's is a great place to check out, not for the food so much as the "wow, this is fantastically weird" . Marlene's was our favorite place to eat. Make sure you stock up on cash before you visit. Go see this fantastic island!

Island escape
We stayed in the Crow's Nest for three nights and couldn't have been more pleased. Don and Kathy were great hosts! The room was clean, the bed very comfortable and the shower was the best we've ever seen in Nicaragua (not only water pressure but HOT water too!). The beach was beautiful and extremely secluded ( we saw less than a dozen people in 3 days). Helen made the best lobster ever (huge grilled tails). Helen and Jesse's children are adorable and they're lucky I didn't sneak them into my suitcase!

10 days of Paradise
First ever out of the country experience for my wife and I and we couldn't have picked a better first trip location. Corn island is beautiful, friendly and safe. The tree house was lovely. No complaints at all with the quality of the accommodations and the attentiveness of our hosts. Corn island is not a traditional vacation for most folks so keep that in mind. There are very few tourists, which is very good. Most of the visitors we met were European which was also very good. There are no national chain stores for groceries or resturants on the island either which is very good. Lots of beach, lots of sun, lots of peace and lots of rest is what you'll find. The water was clear, clean and warm (about 81 degrees). Air temperature fluctuates between 78 and 85 degrees on a daily basis. No Mosquitos on this side of the island but expect them on the other side after dark. I was concerned about there being no a/c but discovered that it was not needed at all at the Tree House. Always a nice breeze and the house is equipped with fans for sleeping if needed. My only complaint would be the rooster in the back yard. He likes to crow way to early in the morning for me and the rest of us. Also, I must say that the Tree House is a little cramped for four adults. Two kids and two adults would work just fine. Rent this place with confidence. We liked it all so much, we will be returning soon.

Amazing value for your money, loved the location and beach!
My boyfriend and I stayed for 2 nights at Treehouse recently so that we would not have to worry about catching the early morning panga from Little Corn for the morning flight back to Managua. Glad we made that choice since it was much nicer to take the afternoon panga back and I think that Treehouse/Crows Nest must be the best value on all of Big Corn. Our friends were staying at Sea Star which is about a 2 minute walk away so that was very convenient (they wish they'd been able to stay at Crows Nest instead but unfortunately it was booked).
All of us had fallen in love with Little Corn so it's a little hard not to be biased, but Little Corn (or the panga ride there) is not for everyone, so if you're going to Big Corn I think this place is perfect. It's $1 per person for a cab ride anywhere on the island, and Long Bay is a beautiful beach. From Treehouse you can walk about 5 minutes to Island Style for a bar/restaurant, and if you keep walking down another 5-10 minutes you'll hit some stores and more restaurants/hotels. We had stayed the first night of our trip (before the morning panga TO Little Corn) at Paraiso on the other side of the island and I much preferred the Long Bay side. Probably if you want to go out to more bars/restaurants, the other side might be better, but if you want a beautiful beach with not a lot of people around, then I think this place is perfect and $50 a night for what you get is a fantastic deal.
Comfortable bed, cute decor, very clean (and cleaned daily), equipped kitchen, and a nice hot shower (well the first day at least... 2nd day wasn't hot but I began to simply never expect hot water in Nicaragua as a whole and just be pleasantly surprised if there was some!)

A 6-day getaway for two...
This studio apartment could not have been better! Despite the weather (December may not be the greatest time to go), this is a lovely "tree house" on a relatively secluded beach. Don and Kathy were welcoming and thoughtfully caring in a nicely unobtrusive way. Helen and Nerri (the two staff on property) were charming and helpful. We had everything we needed, including local shrimp and lobster whenever we asked for it. The balcony overlooked the sea and we could watch the sunrise from the comfort of the bed. Ideal for maturer couples (at least one of us was over 50!), I imagine the proximity to the beach and available boogey boards, kayaks and hammocks make it equally attractive to families that still know how to entertain themselves and don't need a resort-run daycare or activities service to keep them amused.

I stayed at this property as part of a group that was on the island doing spay and neuter clinic work. It was a wonderful place for us to return after a day in hot and overloaded conditions. Some of us were die-hard swimmers so we were thrilled with the short walk to the water from our room, and swam mornings and evenings with joy. They took good care of us and we relished our evenings on the veranda around a big table set up just for our group. Our stay there added to our experience and I do recommend this location to all considering it.
