Very private location, great proximity to state lands.

We had more than enough room for 5 families. We were close enough to town yet felt like we were away from it all.
Cherry Springs is 15 min away and even if you dont make it there to do sky gazing... you can get an amazing view from this home too!

The property is private and spacious. 6 bedrooms gave us all privacy. The great room welcomed us with huge windows, high ceiling, and lots of seating. The kitchen has a big island which allowed for lots of us to join in the cooking and cleaning up. The multiple decks are great for relaxing, and a fire in the firepit was welcome. We stayed last year, this year, and booked again for next year. A great place to get away from it all.

Place came as advertised. Laid out perfectly for a multi-family getaway. Our favorite part was the back patio and playset and sand box for the kids. We would definitely stay again.

When we were approximately an hour away from the property I reached out to the host because we had not yet received an access code to the property and the reservation on VRBO continued to say "access not yet available". We arrived about 30 minutes prior to check in at 3:00 and thought that the access code would post at 3. When it did not post by 3:15, we contacted VRBO who continually attempted to reach the homeowner. After several unsuccessful attempts, they provided us with the cell number so we could call/text ourselves. It was SEVREAL HOURS later that someone reached out with the code after we all waited in the rain. In addition, the power went out for several hours the next day (no storm...just a random outage). There was a generator on the property but it was not usable.
We were repeat renters and the property was not as clean as it has been in the past. There was a strong animal odor inside that did dissipate after windows were open for ventilation. One bed could not be slept in because the sheets were clearly not changed (stained). This made us question whether other beds had not been changed. All of these issues were brought to the host's attention and there was no compromise on any type of refund. We were not asking for a refund on the weekend, just something to compensate for the huge inconvenience. It is a lovely property but the cleanliness is not consistent.
Finally the interior pictures on VRBO are dated.

This was our 2nd stay at Miller's Retreat and it's the perfect house & location to gather everyone together. We enjoyed being together for family meals & the large family room was large enough for all of us, while still being able to find quiet times in the additional, smaller rooms. The kids & dogs enjoyed playing in the back yard & play set. There are many things to do in the area & Mary Beth has lots of pamphlets & a binder with suggestions. We would love to stay again in the future.

We enjoyed 3 days at Miller's Mountain Retreat in a beautiful natural setting with access to many walking trails. The combination of a spacious, clean and comfortable home in a rustic setting was perfect for our gathering of 8 old friends and one dog. All upper level living spaces (bedrooms, baths, kitchen and living rooms) were very clean and comfortable. Well stocked kitchen. Photos seem a bit dated but the home is well kept with obvious continual upgrades. We had one starry night at Cherry Springs, which was amazing, and enjoyed walking downtown Coudersport and touring the PA Lumber Museum. Good local golf course!
Owner was very quick to respond to any inquiries and it was a very easy check in and out process. Would recommend this property for exploring Potter County and beyond and for the simple gift of gathering with old friends.

Lots of space to get together, or find your own spot to relax. No neighbors and lots of woods ensures privacy. We had a wonderful time and a great getaway.

We had a pretty tall order- a place to accommodate 14 people in our family ages 7-70 that was pet friendly. Miller’s mountain retreat fit the bill. We had a 10/10 weekend. We did star gazing, camp fires, camping, cooking and hiking. We look forward to returning

Weekend trip to see the stars
What a beautiful house. Everything you need for a home away. Super clean, and so much space! Our group have been long time friends and came to Coudersport for a star gazing tour. We had a wonderful time and talked about making it a yearly event in this lovely house.

Nice place to stay for a large group
The house is beautiful and spacious. Our teenagers had room to run and play and be on their own. The host is very responsive and friendly. We are looking forward to renting again from her. We love the dark sky park.

Great place to hang out with old friends
My friends and I try to get together once a year for a weekend of games and good conversation. This retreat was a great place to do so.
The house's layout is a little unconventional, but there was space for both large and small groups to gather.
Everything was clean and orderly upon on arrival. And communication with the owners beforehand made it easy to find anything else we needed (in our case extra tables and chairs to accommodate multiple games at the same time).
Unfortunately, it was a little to damp to enjoy the outdoor firepit and seating. However, we made up for it by turning out as many lights as possible on our last night together to get an amazing view of the night sky.
We look forward to returning for next year's trip.

Wonderful mountain home!
Thank you Mary Beth for a wonderful weekend of star gazing!
The house is so comfortable, clean and equipped. We were a family of 14 and we had so much fun. The fire pit was wonderful and you are so close to Cherry Springs State Park. I highly recommend your home!

Perfect for gathering in a bucolic setting
This house has it all! Site lines, warmth, ample room EVERYWHERE to enable a group or large family of any size to spread out or gather together. We came to Miller's Mountain Retreat to celebrate my 60th birthday, so it was tied to a date. Unfortunately for us, we arrived in the middle of a monster storm which made getting in difficult. Snow in Potter county is no joke. Buyer beware! That said, we were warm and cozy in this home with equal space to gather or spread out as we chose. Easy access to Cherry Springs, Pine Creek Gorge, and the very sweet worth a visit Coudersport. We'll be back in the spring, summer, or fall for certain to get the full Cherry Springs experience (though we did make it halfway up the mountain, thought better of it and stopped, got out of our cars and were blown away!)!
Only issues: Listing said there was a juke box. I couldn't find one. The garage door opener was difficult to operate - likely because of the battery. Some more instructions on the fireplace would have been helpful (we managed after trial and error). There are MANY thermostats - getting the temp just right was challenging. If you come in the winter, Mary has a connection with a plower and he's great - but be ready. If you have only front wheel drive and low ground clearance, it is dicey. I was the only one with that issue and I was taken care of great, but I wanted to give fair warning to any other crazy person like me who thinks they know snow hahaha!

NEEDED FAMILY GETAWAY
We just finished our stay at Miller’s :Mountain Retreat and it was awesome. Home is big and beautiful, off road just enough for total privacy. Convenient to all local area points of interest, Cherry Springs Star gazing, Lyman Run lake, hiking and biking trials very close. Gas, groceries and a dollar store within 7 minutes. Kitchen was Huge which worked great for 10 of us staying there, back deck great, s’mores at fire pit and swings for kids. It was a 6 hour ride to get there but worth every mile, we are definitely gonna plan another trip here, so much more to see and perfect place to stay to do it. Would highly recommend.

My trip to this home started off great. The home itself is beautiful and nicely tucked away from busy roads. There is a level of privacy that is wonderful when you want to get away from a big city. The issue with this stay was that, although we did stay passed the agreed-upon check out by 1 hour, we stayed behind because we wanted to make sure that the house was extra clean for the owners/clean up crew. Somehow, despite our efforts to clean and disinfect after ourselves, the owner put in a claim for damages that were NOT true. The owner claimed that we had broken plastic chairs in the backyard, but photos from 2019 show those same chairs already broken. They also mentioned how there were dirty dishes all over the house, which is not true. The counter next to the kitchen sink may have been wet due to leaving dishes there to dry OVER A TOWEL, but the claim stated that all counters were soaked or drenched in water. I even unloaded the dishwasher before we left. There were also other damage claims that were bogus like the sofa. The sofa in the great living room was not broken when we left. It had full back support, as far as we know. The deposit was not refunded and there were excess fees that may or may not be charged to me. Be mindful to take pictures of the home before and AFTER you leave. You don't want the same thing happening to you.

Lots of room
Lots of room for family’s to spread out and not feel on top of each other. The kitchen was well stocked with items we needed for everyday cooking and the black stone grill made cooking breakfast for a crowd quick and easy. We will return to Miller‘a Mountain Retreat!

This property is perfect for a 3 or 4 family (With kids) get together. The house has everything you’d need and Then some for rest, relaxation, and having fun! My group of adventurous friends and their kids had a blast walking the well maintained trails to the mountain vista view on the back-end of the property. The fire pit area is perfect for a starry night of enjoyment with a cold beverage. The kids enjoyed the swing set and sandbox. It’s such a unique house with so many tucked away rooms for private. The living room is really big and provided a great group hangout area. Highly recommend this house if you want to be away from it all. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Thanks Mary Beth!

Miller’s Mountain Retreat
We had an excellent stay at Miller’s Mountain Retreat. The home is very spacious yet it provides a very “homey” feel. Mary Beth (owner) is incredibly responsive to any questions you have. It is close to downtown Coudersport and the area’s hospital. The grounds are nicely appointed and there is a small playground and fire pit outside for your use. Also a great library of books and multiple fireplaces to use. A great experience! We will be back!

roomy retreat
Very spacious, comfortable space, well-equipped kitchen. We enjoyed a trip Cherry Springs for stargazing (plus you can see some of the sky past the trees at the property). Outside on deck, and hiking up Miller Mountain, you can hear cars/trucks whiz past on Buffalo St/Route 872; inside house is total silence. Trails on property and benches to sit and admire the view. Beautiful property with wild flowers, lots of birds. Nearby Lumber Museum was interesting; plenty of hiking within a 30 minute drive. Hot water in house runs steaming! Well-appointed house, good location to meet up in the mountains for friends from Philly and NYC.
