About this cottage rental
La Pergola nestles amid luxurious vegetation just off the road which winds its way from Anacapri to the Blue Grotto. The shops, bars and restaurants are all within walking distance or a short bus ride away. The bus stop is practically outside the main gate. Nearby are the famous ruins of the Roman villa of Damecuta, loved and frequented by the emperor Tiberius.
In front of the cottage there is a large shady terrace with spectacular sea views with table and chairs for outside dining and loungers for reading or relaxing while watching the sun sink into the emerald sea. This is a detached, one-roomed cottage, tastefully decorated and enjoys stunning sea views from every window(you can see the sea while sitting in bed). There is a double bed, table and chairs for inside eating or reading, a fully equipped kitchen corner, satellite TV, DVD player-radio, WI-FI internet and bathroom with shower. The cottage is totally independent and private and has its own private entrance from the road.
The swimming pool is situated in another part of the extensive grounds and is reached by steps and paths through the lush garden. Sometimes it is shared by guests(max 2) staying in another cottage set in a secluded part of the grounds.
The swimming pool is open from 1st June-10-October.
You are welcome to pick the vegetables, fruit or herbs that are grown on the property.

An unique wonderful, unforgettable place!!!
5.0
We had a beautiful and fun time. We especially liked to sit outside on the terrace in the dappled sunlight.
Every morning we went into Anacapri on the bus for coffee, then explored the town and surrounds. (The garden of Axel Munthe Villa is exceptional.) We then shopped for fresh produce to make a simple yummy vegan lunch and dinner. We prepared and ate meals at the outdoor table. We felt blessed.
The pool was awesome. We had the lovely property to ourselves as there were no guests in the other cottage.
Late afternoon we’d take a bus down to the Blue Grotto beach area to swim. It’s possible to swim into the Blue Grotto after the boats leave at 5pm.) Then back to the cottage for a sunset cocktail and pasta.
The cute cottage is quite small, so we had to run a tight ship. My suitcase went under the bed. The kitchen and bathroom are adequate. Exactly as expected.
We felt peaceful, relaxed and happy, living the simple life as per our plan, a different experience for us as we usually stay in hotels, and when in Capri we’ve always stayed down in Capri town (which is fabulous).
We met many friendly locals, many didn't speak much or any English which was fun. The town felt very real. We were surprised to find we loved Anacapri!
Luciana was super and kind. We could text her about anything, even a grocery list. She’d contact the Italian speaking store and they’d deliver!
We loved our stay! We’d like to come back for longer! Thank you!

Fantastic!
We stayed here for a week at the end of August and loved our stay here. This rental was exactly as described: the views are spectacular and photos accurately show what you are getting. Candace and Pepino were excellent and gracious hosts and were always available when we needed them or wanted recommendations of what to do, where to go, etc. We used the bus at least twice a day, so it was really nice that there is a stop close to the rental. The private terrace is huge for a 1 bedroom unit, and we spent a lot of time there eating, reading, relaxing and enjoying the views. The pool is great too and offers more excellent views. We walked twice down to Grotta Azzurra (and took the bus back afterwards) and the nearby Gradola beach.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay here again!

Perfection, Tranquil
Candace and her husband were such friendly hosts. From the booking through to our very last day, they helped us with everything needed, and went above and beyond what we could have imagined. The property was perfect for us with its privacy, pool, beautiful gardens, and watching the sunset every night from the terraces. The location is perfect as it‘s located near two of the best restaurants in Anacapri, a bus stop right near the house, as well as a grocery delivery and a great taxi driver that works with the hosts. We definitely will come back! Thank you Candace and Pepe!

Stunning location - magnificent sunsets and the bonus of a fabulous pool
Put simply the views at La Chimera are beyond stunning. To sit amongst such beauty is calming and restorative, the saltwater pool is a delight as are the hosts Candace and Pepino - they simply couldn’t do enough for us. With their help we not only saw all of the island we also dined in lovely restaurants which were off the beaten track.
The accommodation is basic but meets ones needs for a short break. Remember you are literally surrounded by nature so be prepared to use spray and repellent to avoid being bitten.
If you are look for peace, beauty, hospitality and kindness then this is the place for you.

Love Ana Capri & our wee home
Candace was a gracious & friendly hostess. It was a pleasure meeting her, Pepino & Piccolo. What a treat to live in such a beautiful setting. We fell in love with Italy and their location was so beautiful we didn't want to leave! Thank you for everything, Eric and Angela

Perfect Bliss!
I can't rave about this property, or its owners, enough. I contacted them at the last minute, literally, and they made it so easy to put this trip together. I have been yearning to come to La Chimera for years and truly, it was everything I had hoped. I was traveling by myself and yet they made me feel as welcome as if I had brought a whole family with me! The pool is gorgeous and no fighting hordes of tourists for a chair. The view is stunning and peaceful. It is truly difficult to pry yourself away to go to dinner! Taking the little bus is easy and more affordable than the taxis, and Candace explains the process really well. I really enjoyed Anacapri more than the more crowded Capri town, but that is just my opinion- the whole island is superb and it would be hard to go wrong. But if you want peace, splendor, elegance and a taste of the villa life, La Chimera is for you.

Island gem
We had a wonderfully relaxing break staying in the pool-side apartment at La Pergola. It's a fantastic location on the west side of Capri where you get sunset views across the Mediterranean Sea. The pool is perfect and in a sunshiney spot. There are sun-loungers by the pool, but the apartment also has its own terrace where you can relax with a glass of vino after taking a dip. The apartment is small but perfectly formed - it's a studio flat with a little kitchen that has all the cooking and dining equipment you might need. The shower room has a door straight onto the terrace (as well as into the studio) and this is very handy for going to or from the pool.
We found Candace and Peppino very welcoming and they gave us all the information we needed for getting round the island, as well as a range of restaurant recommendations. The apartment is located about a 15 minute walk from the centre of Anacapri, on the road that leads down to the Blue Grotto. The bus service is very good on Capri and we found it easy to get to all the places we wanted to visit.
All in all we had a fantastic time out on the island and just wish we'd been able to stay longer!

We stayed at La Chimera (La Pergola) for two weeks. The apartment is situated in a beautiful steep garden with a divine view over the coastline and the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Our hosts, Candace and Peppino, are extremely kind and helpful and discreet at the same time.
The pool is always clean and inviting.
The location is a very good starting point for tracking or visiting cultural places (bus near by).
As the neighbourhood is nice and quiet, your stay can be very pleasant and relaxed.
We should like to visit La Chimera another time.

Beautiful paradise hidden in Anacapri
We had a wonderful week in Anacapri on the end of October 2012. The weather was still warm and sunny, sunsets so gorgeous viewing from the terrace. There are many natural paths to walk and wander very near and the landscape is charming. La Pergola is like a paradise! It isn’t big but there is everything you need and even better it was a still and a quiet place surrounded by the green well cared garden. Candace and Peppino were very kind and their hospitality was excellent. Thank you both and we hope to come back some day!

Delightfull hideaway located close to Anacapri
Candace and Pepino are charming and welcoming hosts who genuinely want to make your holiday memorable. Their two apartments are located in the grounds of their lovely home situated in a peaceful spot close to the delightful village of Anacapri. Only a 25 minute walk along an off road path with panoramic views over the Golfo Di Napoli towards Ischia is Anacapri (il Cucciolo restaurant along the way) or for the less energetic a ten minute and 1.8€ bus ride away - the stop being 50m from the apartment. After a pleasant walk around Anacapri or another short bus ride down to the bustling Capri town to people watch the rich, chic and often famous people who visit Capri, to return to the quieter haven of La Pergola apartment followed by a dip and relaxation by the quiet and beautifully positioned pool, spotlessly maintained by Pepino and located just a few steps away, was sheer bliss. Later in the evening to prepare a simple Italian meal using fresh ingredients from the market in Anacapri or picked from Candace's garden (she is delighted for you to do this) and then watch the sun set behind Ischia whilst sipping ice-cold limoncello on the lovely terrace in front of the apartment was a highlight of our holiday. Most visitors first come to Capri on day trips (us included) and venture no further than Capril Town (which is great to experience) and then wonder what this beautifull island would be like after the day trippers have returned to Naples or Sorrento. Do yourselves a big favour and find out with a holiday based in Anacapri, which is on another planet and far less expensive than you think but also base yourself at these apartments, where you will receive a warm welcome and a holiday you will not forget. Julie and I will certainly return!

Amazing Location & View!
My husband, our small dog and I spent a beautiful week on this property. The terrace, pool and hosts made this a wonderful choice. The inside accomodation was small, which we knew, but the terrace with it's unobstructed incredible view is where we spent our time, when we were not at the pool or walking & sightseeing.Frequently we were the only guests at the pool. At times the lovely couple, renting the other cottage,"shared"it with us.The neighborhood is residential with convenient nearby bus service. Our hosts could not have been nicer. They recommended & reserved restaurants, supplied info on walks, sights, etc.Our 1st evening's dinner at Il Faro was our most memorable, recommended by Candace, who reserved for us. It was outstanding, especially for my husband's birthday. We drove to the property, where our hosts kindly let us leave the car for the week. You don't want to drive much on Capri. Each morning we walked into Anacapri and took buses for outings.Excellent bus service, except outside of July & August, they stop running before 11 pm, which can be a problem returning from dinner.Taxis are very expensive. We hope to return in the near future.

Sea View with Picturesque Surroundings
La Terrazza is set on the hillside with views over the sea, amongst the immaculate gardens of the owners. The property is located away from Anacapri, which is a 25 minute walk away or 5 minutes by bus. It has a well maintained pool, which again offers a sea view. The property owner was there to welcome us and offer her advice on the do's and don'ts on staying on the island as well as her recommendations of where to eat.
The accommodation is clean with a small kitchen area and comfortable beds but you spend most of your time outside either sitting at either of the terraces or by the pool. It is an ideal place to relax after a days sight seeing or just enjoying a drink before or after dinner.
The nearest restuarant, Il Cucciolo, is a 5 minute walk away and apart from the wonderful food offers the best place to watch the sunset over the island of Ischia. Two other restaurants situated at either side of the island are Lido de Faro and Le Grottelle, both again have excellent views to go with the food.
There are plenty of interesting things to see if you are prepared to walk rather than using the buses and, expensive, taxis. There is the Old Forts walk on the west of the island and the Pizzolungo in the south, which offers views of the Faraglioni rocks. Both of these are free from the vast numbers of day trippers. You can also walk from Anacapri to Capri down the old footpath consisting of 800 steps, which offers wonderful views of the island.
However, the islands main attraction, the Blue Grotto, is over rated and over priced. Fully expecting the grotto to be filled with a blue light, you are in fact in complete darkness with the blue water only visible around the entrance. The 3 or 4 minutes you spend in there are not worth the entrance fee. In fact you can take a 2 hour around-the-island boat trip and swim through the green grotto for a better experience.
I was surprised as to how much there was to see on the island if you were prepared to venture out on your own and not get lured into any of the organised excursions.

Heaven on Anacapri
This cottage/studio is divine. While small it has a wonderful and well furnished terrace where we had our breakfasts, lunches and aperitif in the evening before walking to a wonderful nearby restaurant in time for the sunset. The mini kitchen has a fridge (with fresh milk and welcoming wine on our arrival), two ring gas hob and a microwave. Tea and coffee and a perculator were provided. The gardens and swiming pool are a delight and compliment the spectacular views. The buses between Anacapri and Grotto Azzura run as regularly as clockwork and are definitely part of the experience.
Candace and Peppino are kindness itself and our only regret was that we could not have stayed longer.

La Terrazza
We spent a wonderful week here. It totally lived up to our expectations. With enough provisions, we could have quite happily never left the villa and it's lovely terraces, with views 'to die for'.
Both Candace and Peppino are lovely friendly people, and although we rarely saw them, they were available to help or advise if needed.
Buses were frequent and cheap, handy if you don't like walking uphill!
We would certainly, and have already done so, recommend a relaxing and tranquil stay here.

Superb sea-view
My wife and I spent a wonderful three weeks in La Terrazza in June 2011.
The weather became better day by day, not too hot and still enjoyable for walking here and there, and warm enough to swim.
We spent much of our time relaxing by the pool, walking in the quiet country roads surrounding the cottage or taking short bus rides to Anacapri and Capri.
There are a lots of restaurants and shops in Anacapri to explore, although sometimes we enjoyed cooking local produce such as Capri Sausages at La Terrazza.
Most shops in Anacapri deliver things you bought to La Terrazza as well, which was a great help when you buy heavy things such as wine and water.
Twenty minutes by foot (up hill) to the centre of Anacapri, and also 25 mins walk(down hill) to famous Blue Grotto.
I would recommend the cottage for couples wanting to unwind and relax.
There is almost no connection for the mobile network, and Wi-fi can be frustrating time to time as well.
However the view is lovely and we were there to relax!
Also the swimming pool is large and deep enough to swim properly which is very difficult to find these days.
Candace and Peppino were very friendly and helpful for many things including booking our table in a restaurant, recommending places to go to, and printing boarding passes, etc etc.
We would like to go back to stay there again.
Thank you very much, Candace and Peppino!

A Perfect Location and Setting
We stayed in La Pergola, which is exceptionally clean, quiet, charming, and comfortable. The view of the sea from the private terrace is indescribable--truly breathtaking. The landscaped gardens on the grounds are beautiful, as is the well-maintained and secluded pool, from which there is also an incredible view.
We were visiting to attend a wedding in Anacapri and were looking for accommodations that would allow us to experience the island in a unique and intimate way. From the moment the taxi dropped us off at the gate to our private entrance, we felt as though we had entered an oasis.
The owners are exceptional people, courteous, gracious, friendly and highly knowledgeable. They provided excellent recommendations for dining, sightseeing and navigating the island, and helped us to arrange a fun boat tour.
The location is ideal. We either walked into town or took a bus, the stop for which is just outside the entrance.
We have highly recommended this property to friends and family and plan to return. What a find!!

Wonderful get away
We had a wonderful stay, the location was perfect and the views from our terrace were amazing, we could sit and watch the sun set every evening. The villa was everything we could have hoped for and more, clean, tidy and modern. Plus the added benefit of having a pool was ideal for a swim or cooling off from the sun.
The villa owners also went out of their way to make us feel at home, providing those extra touches which you always appreciate when your away from home – the tomatoes and fresh rocket were delicious! We would not hesitate in recommending this villa to anyone wanting to escape from it all, but close enough to explore the main areas of interest in Anacapri and Capri town. We hope to go back soon!

A beautiful view of the sea
The real attraction of this apartment is the view. The property is set into the hillside so the views of the sea from both the private terrace and the swimming pool are fantastic. The property has beautiful gardens and the swimming pool offers an excellent place to relax and enjoy the sunshine. Although the property itself is small, it is possible to make simple meals in the kitchen area (using the tomatoes grown in the garden!).
On arrival, we got a taxi from the port but it is possible to catch a bus (you need to get to Anacapri and then take the Grotto Azurra bus and get off at Damecuta) - you still get to see the island and it is much cheaper.
We really enjoyed staying here. The owners were really friendly and welcoming, full of advice about what to see and where to eat on the island. We would definitely recommend this property.

A great place to unwind
My partner and I stayed for 10 nights in July 2010. Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming, the grounds and pool are truly delightful. We stayed in La Pergola which has a fantastic large and secluded outdoor terrace and great views of the sea. The location is a bit out of the town - which suited us fine since the local bus is easy and fun! The whole property wouldn't be suitable for young children because it's quite precipitous - and that makes it a quiet and romantic place for adults. The cottage was scrupulously clean and tidy, but is small (especially the shower room). This hardly matters though since you'll spend most of your time outside. The owners are real local experts and can help with everything - from booking the most wonderful restaurants to explaining the Island's history.

Just Perfect
We have stayed in Anacapri ten times now, and the last five visits have been here. It took a few trips but we have finally found the perfect place to stay on the island.
The gardens are stunning and beautifully cared for and the pool is secluded and an absolute oasis. The owners are lovely and really make the stay more special and are always happy to help.
There is something very special about sitting on the Terrazza in the evening watching the sun set over Ischia.
We got married in Anacapri earlier this month and stayed here for that week. Every guest that visited the property was blown away with how fabulous it was and agreed it was just perfect.

Our first visit to Capri
The reason I chose this property over any others in Capri was due to the previous reviews. They were all very positive and I can say all true. We arrived on Sunday afternoon and were welcomed by the owners who for the next 10 days made our holiday a very special one.
The property itself was as previous reviews state, perfectly clean with all the amenities that we needed for our stay. The accommodation is set in beautiful landscaped gardens which lead down to a very private and peaceful pool where we spent most days doing very little. It was hard work to pull ourselves away and venture out as the place was exactly what we needed to wind down and relax.
The villa is within walking distance of the town where there is a fantastic choice of restaurants and shops. Tthe owners recommended a few places to eat and we were never disappointed.
I would recommend a boat trip around the Island, takes about 3 hours and you get to have a splash in some of the beautiful grottos. We will definitely be going back soon and will be recommending the villas to our friends.
Thanks again for a wonderful holiday
