We wanted to see the art galleries in Asheville and the Chihuly glass exhibit at the Biltmore Estate, but didn’t want to stay there (as friends had). This beautifully renovated cottage sits uphill from the owner’s home next to the entrance of the Grove Park Inn in a very nice older neighborhood. Very comfortable for the two of us. Highly recommended!

We stayed at the cottage for a long weekend. It is located in a great neighborhood located on the same road as the Grove Park Inn. The cottage is perfect for 2 people and had everything we needed to stay in and eat in Iif we wanted to, even a gas grill! The farmer’s markets have great locally grown produce. There are lots of great brewpubs and restaurants nearby (downtown is about a 5-10 minute easy drive). Bones and Broth is right down the hill and is very good. Also, having drinks and appetizers in the lobby and patio of the Grove Park Inn was very enjoyable. The Biltmore is also a fun day trip. We enjoyed the Chihuly exhibit, the house tour and the winery tasting. Craig was a great host and had a bottle of Biltmore wine waiting for us at our arrival. We would definitely stay again the next time we visit Asheville.

Cozy historic cottage renovated with thoughtful modern touches while maintaining historical charm—we visited for an anniversary weekend jaunt to Asheville. Comfy bed, plush linens and towels with great water pressure and shower head. Owners live on property close to rental. Stone steps from street level parking pad to cottage are sturdy and even. Welcome bottle of wine from Biltmore House, coffee, tea, hot kettle, coffeemaker with filters and sugars all provided. Will stay here again next visit to Asheville-also fabulous location to Grove Park Inn literally 1/2 mile up the street, 15 mins to Biltmore; 15 to RAD, and 15 to Blue Ridge Pkwy.

Felt we were at home the moment we walked through the door. Super close to everything we wanted to do in Asheville. Inside the property was really clean. We will be back for sure.

We had a great weekend at this place. The inside was clean and neat and the bed was very comfortable. But the outside could use some cleaning up. Parking is very tight unless you drive a small vehicle. Also it is within walking distance of the Omni Grove Park inn.

We are so glad we stayed at Three Bears Cottage! The place is a perfect size for a couple and is nicely tucked away with great scenery near Park Grove Inn. You are welcomed with a bottle of wine upon arrival and the place was very clean and well organized. There's a binder with a quick overview of where to find key items and information about the area and property. The bed is incredibly comfortable so we both slept very well!
We enjoyed an evening walking over to Sunset Terrace at the Park Grove for drinks, dinner and a view. It's a short walk (uphill and with stairs --doable, but just a heads up for those looking for flat land-- you won't find this in most of Asheville, haha). The location is very central for Asheville and we were only about 10-15 minutes from places we wanted to drive to (brewery, Asheville Tourists ballpark). We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it!

Loved this beautifully retored cottage in the historic district. It is well appointed with all the amenities in the most peaceful setting. Easy commute to restaurants and entertainment. We even saw a mama bear and 4 cubs on the property! Would definitely rent again.

We loved the property! It was perfect - welcoming the moment you unlocked the door. The hosts have provided comforts that you find in high end hotels - towels and bedding are amazing along with the goat milk toiletries (my favorite brand) Beautiful neighborhood and surroundings with roses and a water feature. It was one of the best places we have ever stayed.

I stayed here for a weekend getaway to Asheville and absolutely loved this cottage. Super cute on the inside and in a lovely location. I enjoyed walking around the scenic area. The cottage was perfect. Looks even better in person than in the pictures.

I attended a conference at the Omni Hotel up the street, and the Three Bears cottage was an excellent way to leave campus while remaining nearby. It was a great neighborhood, and the cottage was perfect. Highly recommended!

Three Bears Cottage was the perfect little piece of paradise for my anniversary get away. I grew up not far from Asheville but has never had the time to enjoy discovering all the fantastic eateries. We were in a perfect location that seemed to be only a few miles away from everything and Grove Park Inn was on the same street. We will be back!

My husband and I just returned from Asheville and stayed at this amazing cottage for 3 nights. As other reviewers stated, it is well-appointed and perfect for a couple's getaway. We come to Asheville a few times a year and feel we have found our new favorite place to stay!

We had a great stay in this quaint cottage conveniently located in the historic Grove Park neighborhood. The accommodations were quite comfortable and the surrounding area is beautiful.

We were so comfortable in the cottage. It was beautifully decorated as well. We could walk to the Grove Park Inn and it was a short ride to downtown as well as to grocery stores. Getting to the Biltmore was also a very easy drive. The neighborhood is quiet, beautiful and historic. It was a perfect place for my husband and I.

I chose this place because of the Zen it portrayed. Everything about this place was beautiful. Perfect for a couple. The waterfall sold me but the beauty of the place inside and out. Everything we did was with in 10 minutes of this place and it has Everything! Owner's were communicable and also helped me with finding a place to hike!

Husband and I stayed for 2 nights to attend Christmas at Biltmore and it was lovely. The Three Bears Cottage was a lovely mission home just a short walk up the hill to Grove Park Inn. The sound of the waterfall just out the cozy home just added to the lovely experience. Hope to return some day soon.

Enjoyed my stay there for a weekend in October. The welcome email with all the details was excellent. The location, parking spot, and the in home binder with details on the area and appliances was a nice touch.
The owner was very quick to respond to a question that I had. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for an upcoming trip to Asheville.

What a beautiful 1 bedroom cottage. We were able to walk to the Grove Park Inn for a wedding. Came and went into downtown Asheville several times. Three Bears (we saw 1 on the way to GPI) had everything we needed for our stay. Great selection of teas! Your parking spot is up some steps, but it was not an issue for us. Would stay here again for sure!

Fantastic quaint cottage steps away from the grove park inn. Very clean. All amenities there including a bear walking across the front porch! A great weekend . Craig was very responsive and always available if needed. Would love to return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2-night stay at Three Bears Cottage. Having central HVAC in a 1913 structure was an unexpected luxury, and the cottage was stocked with all sorts of amenities not often found in a rental. For example, high-quality kitchen knives, an outdoor gas grill and full array of grilling implements, 2 portable fans, assorted English teas and good quality silverware. Also, you can expect concierge service. If you have a question or need anything, a VRBO or text message to Craig will be answered quickly, and usually right away.
Although there is no view of the mountains, the location on a wooded hillside overlooking Grove Park is idyllic. It is only a 7-minute walk to the historic Omni Grove Park Inn. The private, one-vehicle parking pad is convenient, up a short flight of stone steps from the front door. (Backing in to the parking space is a good idea. Cedar trees block your view of traffic when pulling out.)

The property was exactly as described and shown! Very convenient and the host was SUPER responsive to any silly questions I had ❤️

Lovely neighborhood. Literally 5 minute walk to Grove Park Inn. Very well equipped. Quaint cottage. There are steps from parking to cottage if mobility is an issue.

The cottage is truly exquisite, it looks like something straight out of a magazine. It was clean and smelled great! The linens were high end and fresh.
We arrived around 6:30 pm. Within 5 minutes of bringing our things inside a black bear walked right past the cottage! By the time I found my camera, the bear had already made it to the top of the steps. I didn’t get a good picture, but it was an exciting start to our 3 day vacay.
That night, we walked to The Omni Grove hotel, only a half mile from the cottage. We listened to a gentleman play a couple of upbeat songs on a piano, then took our drinks outside to explore the courtyard. We strolled down the steps to the golf course and then back up to the center to have our picture taken in front of the waterfall.
The next day we hiked Pisgaw mountain, about a 35 minute drive from the cottage. Our pamphlet described the hike as a moderate 1 to 2 hour hike which was true for us. We visited a couple of breweries afterward and ended up at an outdoor concert downtown for the rest of the night.
The next day we played golf at the Omni Grove Golf Resort. You don’t have to be a guest at the hotel to play the course. Must do! The course is gorgeous and has the most amazing views.
After golf, we visited another brewery and then the botanical gardens. We finally made it back to the cottage and found a well placed bench at the top of the waterfall where we discussed our plans to come back as soon as possible!

The VRBO listing is very accurate. My wife and I found the Three Bears Cottage to be very clean, a comfortable bed, and a complimentary bottle of wine. We found the neighborhood to be quiet, especially during the evening. Not being familiar with Asheville, I was a little concerned about the distance to downtown. The property is actually a very short drive to downtown and is surrounded by restaurants and grocery store(s) if needed. We both loved our stay and when visiting Asheville again, I will see if this gem is available. Oh, the property hosts were what I want as well - there to answer any questions and otherwise transparent.
One note to those that drive a large SUV - the provided parking pad may be a tight fit for you. We drove a smaller SUV and had no issues but a 7-passenger SUV may have an issue.

I’ve stayed in many places and this one ranks as number 1. It is perfect in every way for 2, no amenity was overlooked. The pictures very accurately describe this oasis, close to everything Asheville. Actually had the most unexpected guests pop in one morning, mama bear and 2 cubs.

My husband and I needed some rest and relaxation and this cottage delivered. The property is incredibly charming. The location could not be better, close to restaurants and of course the Grove Park Inn. The small kitchenette, TV, comfortable bed and forest like feel was just perfect for us. We will definitely be back!

A beautiful spot, as advertised - cozy, quiet and convenient. Neighborhood is beautiful and it’s a short walk to the Grove Park for sunset viewing. The cottage is just about perfect, although the shower head is relatively low, which might be an issue if you are over 6’ (water pressure is a bit on the gentle side also). Other points that might be relevant for some — there are quite a few steps down to the cottage from the parking space on Macon, and the parking space itself is small, which could be an issue if you are driving a full-size SUV or other large vehicle. For us, it was just right (though we did not see any bears).

I highly recommend staying at the Cottage. I was there alone and felt very safe and cozy. The description and pictures of the place are very accurate. The beauty of the place and the wonderful location made even a very rainy day feel good. Everything about the place created a perfect setting for my “personal retreat”.
