About this house rental
Wedding week-end get away! Can sleep up to 12 people. Great Getaway in the North Georgia Mountains to relax and enjoy the best section of the Chattahoochee River. Helen, Cornelia, Cleveland and Clarkesville are 4 towns very close by with wineries, restaurants, shopping, hiking and more. The best time is spent at the house playing in the river or enjoying the sounds of the river from the large screened porch. Very easy access to the water. Views of the River are best in the wintertime when the leaves have fallen and the trees are bare. Fire Place, Fire Pit and firewood at the house. Spend your days on the large screened-in porch and lower deck overlooking the Chattahoochee River in Demorest, Georgia watching the tubers, canoes, kayaks go by. Get adventurous! Use the shuttle service provided by the local outfitters and go kayaking with the sit-on-tops kayaks they provide for rent. Go fishing in the river or hike along the river. Or just sit on the large screened porch, swings by the river, lower porch, and listen to the beautiful sounds of the river rapids while reading, playing family games, or watching television.
We have recently installed video cameras outside the house monitoring our property.
One points at the base of driveway so we can see who comes on our property. Also, have one mounted off the back porch to monitor stairs up and down from the river. And on the fire pit.
Demorest is located between Cleveland, Clarkesville, Cornelia, and Helen. Our house is right on the Chattahoochee River. Great place to relax, play in the river and enjoy the sounds and views of the great outdoors.

Beautiful property all around, just the sounds from the creek was amazing
Plenty to do and just relax on the porch
Spent one afternoon just navigating through the creek
The small town of Helen was fun in itself
The weather was fabulous
The true adventure was the driveway ,with the vehicle we rented,it was a challenge, totally my fault for not reading the part about trying to get to the house before dark
All in all a beautiful property would definitely recommend to anyone

We had a great time exploring north Georgia with the river house as our base. We got a lot of use out of the porch and fire pit. Everything was comfortable. We’re already thinking about returning next year.

From the check in until the check out.. totally amazing! The host is the nicest, most helpful person and always responded immediately if i had a question! They supply everything you need except your own food! I've never stayed at a property that had everything you need for a week! Definitely no need to pack extra stuff because it most likely will be there! Including shampoo, conditioner and body wash! That is so amazing! The view on the screened patio is the best spot in the house! Listening to the water flowing in the back was so peaceful! I'm already missing it! Don't bring a smaller car because the road to get there is a little tricky. But TOTALLY worth it! The price you pay to be by the water! We tubed in Helen, visited several wineries, did some golfing, kayaked, fished, at at some great restaurants and did a little bit of shopping! The week was amazing! Thank you Kent for helping to make it that way! Us grandparents will forever be grateful for the memories you helped us make!

We were only there for a couple of day, but we enjoyed relaxing on the porch and listening to the river. Lots of good hiking around. Owner was very gracious and easy to communicate with.

We had a wonderful stay. The house is beautiful and very well appointed. The screened in porch and the outdoor shower are two major highlights. My whole family had a great stay. We would very happily visit again,

A 3 star, average, experience at a 4.5 star property. Bathrooms, kitchen & rooms very clean.
-1 star Downstairs patio not usable, pollen bugs & bird poop on furniture; only table to dine on in screened patio covered in pollen, cleaned it and the chairs; chandelier covered in cobwebs; cleaning tools visible around house; holes in screened in patio so not completely bug free.
-1 star Expect a grill to have propane included, not a pleasant surprise after long drive and grocery run that all 5 cans were empty. Called property manager, straight to voicemail. Owner immediately answered, said to refill nearby. $28. Heard back a few hours later from property manager, it’s in the fine print on website link we received a couple days before that it may or may not have propane. I’d like to know that in my decision making while booking.
That said, we had a wonderful time by the river and it was comfortable to stay at. Drive to property wasn’t bad in big truck.

Great house. Very comfortable with plenty of space. Back porch is the best part. But the driveway is no joke, it is very very steep.

Really enjoyed some time with friends and all of the kids at this spot! Right on the river and we loved all the adventure and the time spent by the fire. Super quick ride to some downtown spots but far enough out we could disconnect.

Wonderful property! The only suggestion would be to add a firepit down by the river. Might return for a summer trip.

Only half of us were able to make the trip due to illness, but the ones that went made it sound so awesome that we plan to schedule another trip and hope for good health.

We had such a great time at this cabin. Sitting on the screened porch listening to the river was everyone’s favorite. Cabin was conveniently located to places like Helen, etc, but we didn’t want to leave the cabin. Such a well appointed cabin in an absolutely beautiful location. Hope we can visit in the summer to enjoy being in the river.

My family and I enjoyed our stay! The home was very clean & had everything we needed. We enjoyed preparing most of our meals in the kitchen & the weather was perfect for dining on the screened in porch. The views & sounds of the river were lovely this time of year along with the fall colors on the trees.

This house was perfect for our girls trip. The house was updated and clean and the location on the river was so peaceful. I only wish it was a little closer to Helen, where we spent most of our time. But other than that, I would definitely come back with my family.

We stayed here two years ago and fell in love with the location. We put our tubes in at the house, float down the river, get out at Duncan Bridge where there is a shuttle and it’s a 15 minute ride back in the river to the house. Perfect so no one needs to worry about driving or toting tubes.
At the house, we always tend to gravitate to the screened in porch where we can hear the rush of the river rapids. Always a great time and Kent was very responsive when we reached out to him. We will definitely be back!

River House
3 generations of family and 2 dogs stayed at the river house. We had an incredible time tubing, whitewater rafting, and visiting the North Georgia Zoo. The area is convenient to everything you can need. The house was extremely well stocked with everything from linens to kitchen stuff. Every year we do a family vacation thru vrbo and this has been as wonderful as any we have used. We would definitely recommend and would go back again.

River house
This is our second time at this property. We love it. It's serene, right by the white water river with sound of rushing water. Besides just relaxing by the river and hiking multiple trails in the area, I recommend Wildwood Outfitters kayak rental which is about 10 min from the house.

Peaceful retreat with an amazing view of the river
This property is absolutely amazing!! The location is perfect as it’s a nice peaceful retreat right on the river with just a short drive to multiple towns (Helen, Cleveland & Cornelia are all 15-20 minutes away). We had an amazing time & there were so many amenities! They included more items than you typically see at other properties. They literally thought of everything!! The communication was great both up to & during our stay. I would definitely stay here again. The only thing that would have made it better would have been a slightly larger living room as our crew watched a movie together every night & we had to get creative on the seating. It was still a great trip & much of that was because of this awesome property.

Christmas getaway
Great location with easy driving to Helen but peaceful for relaxation. House is well stocked with everything that you will need. We enjoyed sitting by the river, playing on the rope swing and board games during the rainy days. Definitely a cabin to come back to in the summer to enjoy the River.

Family
It was a very quite and peaceful place to reflect on the important things in life. We wanted something different this year for Thanksgiving and we got in this place. After our big lunch the kids went out and explored the rive and the woods. It was great!

Not handicap accessible
The cabin was beautiful, perfect for adults. I wouldn’t recommend it to someone older or with small kids, to many stairs. It wasn’t convenient for my older mother.

Amazing cabin on Chattahoochee
We have rented all over through VRBO and this is one of our favorites yet! Beautiful, clean, spacious, with fun right in the backyard (river tubing and swing). Great base for exploring Anna Ruby Falls, Tallulah Gorge, Helen, and Dalohnega. The gravel common road leading to drive is hard, and the paved driveway is crazy steep, but the cabin is worth any challenge (which I was able to navigate in a minivan). The kids (aged 19-9) are ready to come back (but really, they didn’t want to leave)!

Weekend cabin for college soccer game
This amazing property has three stories with plenty of room. Dozens of kayakers passed down the river as we enjoyed being outside on the river. Just minutes to Truitt McConnell, Cleveland and Helen. Awesome

Chattahoochee bliss
If you are ok w the rough road and steep driveway into house you will love the house and river area. We loved our stay and the owner was very helpful and welcoming. Plenty of rustic charm and the sweet sound of the rapids below! Excellent getaway!

Great property
We had a great time overall. Loved that the kitchen was stocked for cooking with pans and utensils. Loved the porch which was screened so we could hang outside without worrying about bugs. And the little “pool” along the river was perfect!

Loved this Area
This area is beautiful. The house is beautifully remodeled and has everything you need to enjoy your time there. Hard to leave the back porch. There were very few people on the river until Saturday but we enjoyed watching the people in kayaks and tubes. The property manager answered every question quickly and made our stay easy and enjoyable.

Great cabin
Our family throughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We spent majority of our time on the porch listening to the river. The next time we come to Helen, we will try our best to book this cabin. Thank you for answering my emails and letting us rent your fabulous cabin.

Awesome vacay on Chattahoochee River in GA
Words to describe this wonderful vacay home in Smokey Mtns on the whitewater Chattahoochee River: A beautiful home, scenic views, privacy, 20 minutes from town of Helen GA where you can go tubing, ride a Mountain Coaster, shop til you drop, enjoy delish cuisine in many restaurants, miniature golf, etc. This was our 6th VRBO rental and it was absolutely the best. House has top-of-the line furnishings and appliances. Very clean with quality bed linens and towels. All the amenities you could think of in kitchen and rest of house. Has a nicely decorated screened-in porch overlooking the Chattahoochee River which ran below the house. Porch was carpeted, ceiling fan, big screen tv, large table to enjoy family meals, lounge chairs. We enjoyed many hours on porch enjoying the beauties of the river and the forest around us. Only one neighbor, who we never saw or heard. Perfect sense of privacy. Our twin 9 year old granddaughters enjoyed fishing (with Tupperware bowls!) in a protected little pool on the shoreline. Caught some whoppers....minnows. Although we didn’t try fishing, there’s trout in that river! Loved watching the kayakers navigate the river right at our doorstop. The owner was just awesome. Answered any inquiries we had immediately. He made us feel very welcome. Wish he would invest in more vacation rentals in other states too. We would rent from him no matter where in the US. He was that good! Highly recommend this home as a vacay getaway in the beautiful Smokies.
