Update: Fall of 2022 we installed a Grohe hand-held shower head so that parents could more easily wash their children. In the summer of 2021 we added new artwork. In 2019 we installed a new 55” Samsung LED LCD Smart TV! It’s beautiful and has “Dynamic Crystal color”! We also installed a new modern Rohl kitchen faucet, a Rohl bathroom faucet, added new shower hooks, and bought new pans. In 2015 we did some remodeling and have made many changes to our condo including: all walls painted, four new louvered doors, new wood flooring, new chair rail, new sleeper couch with an extra large mattress, and two new bar stools. The furniture has been rearranged so the bed and couch both look directly at the TV. This provides better function and a more open feeling.
The ground floor location of this studio allows for convenient walk-in/walk-out access without the need to wait for an elevator. Just open the lanai sliding doors and you are steps away from the beach, the pool, and the Ka’anapali walkway. The courtyard offers a tranquil setting with tropical plants, a Koi pond with a waterfall, and the swimming pool. In the evening, the Koi pond is lit by romantic torches and lights. From the condo’s lanai, there are magnificent ocean views and the grassy area by the lanai gives the feeling of a private garden. It’s a delightful place to have a morning coffee or evening drink. The condo has been remodeled entirely and professionally decorated. It has a 55'' flat- screen smart TV, DVR for recording programs, free secure 5g Wifi, a fully equipped remodeled kitchen, a large king bed, a queen sleeper couch, a bathroom with a walk-in shower, and a free washer and dryer just outside the door.

The spectacular natural setting, along with the many amenities of this resort hotel, make it an outstanding paradise vacation for people of all ages. The Whaler has recently completed more than $30 million worth of property renovations and enhancements over the last 3 plus years. The Whaler on Ka’anapali Beach featured amenities include state of the art fitness center, business center, tennis courts, beach side pool with hydra-spa, an on-site concierge, a beach kiosk with towel service, beach-side gas grills, air conditioning, and underground parking. We had another great stay at Laura and Jim’s condo at the Whaler! Perfect location being ground level and being able to enjoy the grass and landscaping, get morning coffee quickly, not have to deal with elevators and get to the beach in a matter of seconds. Condo is stocked with all the beach and kitchen supplies you need! Beautiful decor and most importantly, a very comfortable bed! Thanks again!

Excellent well maintained the staff was awesome. The only problem we had was the lack of toilet paper & paper towels. We ran out of both & had to supply them.

This was our second time staying in this unit. It’s in even better shape now than the first time we stayed and it was great the first time. Everything was clean and in great condition. We loved having the beach chairs available. Truly enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to book again next time we return!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Very nice updated condo. The location on the ground floor was super convenient. Great location to shopping, restaurants and black rock beach. The owners had everything that you would need. We would definitely come back and stay and highly recommend!

It was perfect from start to almost finish. The condo was exactly what we needed but we escaped the island on Tue 8/8/23, the day of devastating fires and lives lost. We hope to be back to this condo and all of its amenities and realize the island needs time to heal and rebuild. Love and prayers to all🙏.

So close to the whalers village, lots of restaurants and shops, super close to the beach, the room has all that you need plus many more amenities. Great communication with the property manager, this room is perfect for kids, being on the lower level gives the kids chance to play and run on the outdoor patio, definitely recommended and we will come back!

My family had an amazing time at this condo on Maui. The location was fantastic. Walking straight out to the beach was so convenient for my family. Also, being so close to all the shopping was a huge plus.
I can’t think of anything we would change. My kids are already asking when we can go back.

Laura & Jim’s condo is exactly as described. We stayed two weeks and enjoyed every minute of it. Perfect location, I loved the first floor access..quick trip every morning to the lobby for coffee and then enjoy on patio with the waterfall and tweeting birds. Used laundry twice, which is as close as mine at home.
Condo clean, well stocked, beach items in condo too. Set right next to Whalers Village, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We watched whales from the pool area several times, even walked down to black rock one day for a swim, and a turtle swam by, absolutely awesome. Even though we had a few days of not-so-great weather, we got in all the activities we had planned. We highly recommend Laura & Jim’s condo, we surely would book it again. Thankyou , Victoria C.

This was our first visit to Hawaii and I was so appreciative of the detailed recommendations that the host provided with dining, things-to-do, and where to get groceries. The condo was well appointed for active families and nicely updated. The location was epic. The beach was our favorite and the proximity to the shops and restaurants was so convenient. We were very appreciative we got to experience Maui in this beautiful condo!

A lovely place to spend a week, or a month! Great Location, with lots of Restaurants, and Retail within walking distance. Condo is cozy, but is just perfect for couples.
The Whaler is very well maintained, and has friendly and informative staff. The parking in that area can be a problem at times, but there was plenty of parking when we visited. I Did have an issue using the printer at their business center, and the lady at the front desk was not much help, but other than that I would say that everything else was top notch.

Fabulous home away from home on Kaanapali Beach ! Laura and Jim are excellent property owners and easy to deal with.! They made me feel special and right at home. The unit is in Immaculate shape. The property has everything one needs for a Maui get-a -way . The kitchen was very well done with all small appliances like a blender for healthy daily smoothies ! The extra touches from the furnishings to the utilities closet boasting snorkel gear, Morey boogie boards and portable beach chairs. The ground floor unit is perfect for the evening an stroll to soking in the whirl pool ! The grounds on the Whaler are very nice . there is a physicist 24hr center and a short cut With private gate to teh Whalers Village next door.. You can get around the island very nicely from this Ka'anapali rental. I like it so much !!! I book two weeks for next year , The good Lord willing and the Creeks don't rise !!! We had an amazing stay at this property. It was clean and well stocked with chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas, sand toys, etc. It is located near the main elevators, lobby, and laundry room and it was quick and convenient to get in and out. The lanai is situated so that it faces Whaler building 1 and the grassy koi pond area. We were able to see the ocean/sunset by stepping off of the lanai and looking to the left. My children were enamored with the koi pond. They spent many hours watching the fish and frogs and playing with other children who were doing the same. There is filtered water, tea, coffee, iced tea, and towel service offered in the lobby, which I’d guess takes less than 30 seconds to get to from the condo. The pool is a nice size, warm, and there are plenty of seating options. There isn’t a ‘shallow’ end (shallow area on steps going into pool but that’s it). The underground parking garage is ok—there are shopping carts available to help transport things. We found that if we returned at 7 pm or later, the garage was full. There’s an additional surface lot available on the other side of the lobby which is also ok, it’s just a longer walk to get to the unit as it’s closer to building 1. The beach path that connects everything along the beach is nice for morning walks. We were lucky enough to see a pod of spinner dolphins swim down to the Black Rock area before turning around and passing us again as they headed back south. It takes less than 5 minutes to walk to Whalers Village next door. There’s a Starbucks a short distance away at the Westin. We shopped for groceries at Safeway (near Lahaina). We found a lot of nice things at the Ross across the street from there too. My favorite restaurant was Down the Hatch in Lahaina. We spent time at Honolua and Kapalua Bays, which are great snorkeling spots a short drive north. The Napili farmers market had nice fruit and snacks. The hosts were very responsive and communicated well. We highly recommend this condo-very convenient and there’s so much to see and do in the area.

This place was exactly as shown online, and was perfect for our needs. The bed was very comfortable and I enjoyed a good night sleep after a long day. The pull out sofa for my daughter was also comfortable, so nice job by the owners. In fact, we had a minor issue with the shower handle and I notified the owners who took care of it immediately. The place is a few steps from the beach, pool, restaurants, and shops. There are chairs on the beach to use and towels each day too. I’d recommend this place to others, which was perfect for the 3 of us.

Our favorite unit on Maui
We have stayed at the Whaler 3 times and this is by far our favorite unit! Everything is updated: kitchen, bathroom, art, and bed. I am very picky when it comes to beds and this bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in besides my own! The shower was great--love the seat for helping kids shower! The unit was stocked with everything you'd ever need! So nice to have so much great beach gear! I also really appreciated having the laundry so close to the unit. The best part was being on the bottom floor! We were so close to the pool and beach and didn't have to do any elevators or a lot of walking to get where we needed to go! The owners were responsive, generous and made sure we had everything we needed! This will be the unit we book for our future Maui trips! Thanks so much!

The 162 unit was very good. Owners very responsive. The Whaler is good except they do not enforce pool rules like diving off the waterfall. They should at least put up a sign telling kids not to climb on the waterfall.
