About this house rental
One short block to the beach makes Sunset a wonderful vacation home, Saturday to Saturday rentals from May 1 through September 30. Go to the beach or take a dip in the 12 X 24 pool. Great house for that family reunion, bring the whole family. There are 6 bedrooms and four baths. Take a second look at the house. We are constantly working to keep the house fresh and new.
Many things to do in the area including BrookGreen Gardens, short drive to Myrtle Beach.. Plenty of parking, at least 6 cars. Linens are not provided but all beds do have spreads, pillows, and blankets. Six bedrooms, 4 queen bed share 2 full bathrooms, 1 king with attached full bath and 2 doubles in the master bedroom with attached full bath. Kitchen is supplied with all appliances needed for your stay. Coffee makers, blenders, large fridge, new dishwasher, toaster and flatware, dishes, etc. Large charcoal grill , picnic tables, lounge chairs etc outside by our large pool. Check it all out.

Home was very clean and the neighborhood was mostly quiet. All the beds were comfortable and there is ample space for storing and hanging clothing. We enjoyed the pool very much.
We arrived at 4pm as the housekeeper was finishing up last minute cleaning. She was very pleasant.
We typically vacation in Florida but ready for a change. Surfside Beach is a great location with plenty to do for all ages. We will return!

This is the place where the entire family can stay together, 15 people from Grandma and Grandpa to the smallest child of four years old. Location, private pool and clean. Updates are very nice. Communication with Judith was good. We had no issues during our stay. Already booked next year.

This was our second time staying at Sunset, and we had another wonderful time, the owners are so gracious and help us with any questions that we had, the beds are comfortable and the furnishings are great.
We had a pretty big family, the refrigerator kept everything very cold and the air conditioning works like a charm; It was a hot week.
It’s a very short walk to the beach, but we also rented a golf cart from King of carts and utilized that to take umbrellas and chairs, etc., down each morning and evening. There is a place downstairs where you can plug-in an electric cart.
The grandkids loved the pool and it was so nice to be able to go there in the evenings, there’s also a grill downstairs that we utilized, and that made for a wonderful supper one night.
I highly recommend Sunset and hope we can come back in the future.

We had a great time here!
1. Check in- was very easy! Two keys were in the lock box.
2. One of the most clean beach houses I have ever walked into- it was truly immaculate.
3. Location - easy 1.5 block walk (less than 5 min) to the beach. The 7th ave entrance has about 8 steps up to the shower and then only one step down. This was the easiest entrance to the beach with a wagon. Food Lion is right down the street and Walmart just a bit further.
4. Rooms- the queen rooms can accommodate two pack n plays, tightly, but doable. The king bed is in the same size room as the queens so a pack n play did fit but was tighter.
5. Pool- it was cleaned on Saturday before we arrived and then he came to shock it on Monday and then came to clean it again Tuesday. There is a baby gate at the top of the steps on the balcony so we felt safe with the 2-4 year olds we had.
6. Kitchen- decent electric coils on the stove, nice deep sink. Dishwasher up to date and fridge made ice well. Tons of plates, glasses, and a nice fancy Keurig that takes cups or can brew a whole pot of coffee with filters. We made some really yummy meals!
7. Washer/dryer- worked well, up to date.
8. Ample off street parking for 6 cars, easily.
9. No funky smells or stains :) Nothing needed attention or was in poor condition.
10. Our family of 10 adults, and kids age 5 months to 14 years old had a really nice stay.

We have stayed in this house twice now, about 8 years apart, and it was just as nice the first time as it is now! A great layout to accommodate a large family’s needs with a good size pool for relaxing and some games. The beach is so close it’s just a one block jaunt. Everything was fantastic!

We have vacationed in Surfside since the late 70’s but had not been in several years and decided to return tjis yesr. Sunset was a good choice - enough rooms for the 11 of us, close to the beach and a pool. We enjoyec sharing meals in the house and at several restaurants close to the pier. Morning walks and evening pickle ball for relaxing exervise. We all enjoyef our time togetger at Sunset.

Perfect location for walking to the beach, rented a golf cart easy way to get to dining and shops. Pool was great for taking a day break from the beach.
Kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed.

Full disclosure. Owner charged us additional $150 for pet hair on furniture and bed spreads being left on the floor in a few rooms. We are not in agreement with the additional charge but that aside here is an honest assessment.
First we were made to wait well past the 4 pm check in as the cleaning crew was still there. We found the property to be dated. There was a soft spot in the floor inside the entry door that felt like a trampoline. There was a broken towel rack in a bathroom which we notified the owner of and they informed us that someone would call to come and fix it. We never received a call. We also had an ant infestation in the kitchen. We contacted the owner and they indicated they would call an exterminator but we would have to leave the property for three hours. This was an issue as we had a dog and would not have been able to keep him occupied in the heat for that amount of time. We decided to just deal with it. We cleaned before leaving and never had additional charges in a rental.
It is frustrating when the guest is willing to deal with issues that arise in a rental but the host does not reciprocate. It is also concerning that bed spreads are not laundered between guests. The location is nice but the residence is overrated at 5 stars. It is a 3 star at best. Even if we had not received the additional charge, we would not have rebooked since we have stayed at nicer places in Surfside, but the hospitality of the host was just as distasteful.

This was a great property! The only reason we gave 4 stars for cleanliness was because the floors were pretty dirty. We mopped them. I think the cleaning lady just forgot becuase everything else was spotless!! The loction was fabulous! The walk to the beach was really short, less than a block and not crowded! We had plenty of room. We would definetely stay there again!! If you ever do remodel, we would love to see the kitchen open up more. We did cook a lot and ate meals together and it was tight with just the little pass through to get in and out of the kitchen! Thanks Judy for a wonderful family vacation!! Oh and we really enjoyed the pool.... we lived in it when we were not at the beach!!!

Our family all liked this house. Short walk to the beach, private pool and pool area was fantastic. Property manager was very responsive when AC went out on a Sunday night they had it serviced withing a couple of hours. We would rent this house again.

We had a really enjoyable week with our group of 12. The house was perfect and accommodated us well The pool area was great and owner sent someone over to clean it when asked. The house was clean however the floors were not. Upon arrival the cleaner was still there and ran out of time. The location was perfect and was a very short walk to the beach. Overall we were very happy with the house and had a wonderful vacation.

Our stay was wonderful! The home was clean- we all felt comfortable letting our babies crawl around. The house is a great size (we had 16 guests in total, 10 adults, 3 kids, 3 infants). Beach access is very close and there is a nice strip of restaurants a short golf cart ride away. We would love to stay there again!

This house was perfect for our family of 16. The pool was phenomenal. The beach was one block over. Parking was great for all 6 cars. The kitchen was equipped with all the pots and pans, dishes, glasses, cups, serving utensils etc. you will need to provide your own seasoning. The owner is easy to reach and responsive. It was a fabulous vacation!!

Staying in Sunset at Surfside Beach, SC
We had a wonderful time at Surfside Beach. The “Sunset” home has six spacious bedrooms, four great bathrooms, and was plenty of room for nine adults and three small children. The refrigerator worked well, the air conditioner worked well, the pool was great for our young ones, and the ocean is a very short one block walk. We did rent a golf cart for the week to shuttle beach equipment and family members back and forth to the ocean.
We are very appreciative to the owners for sharing their home with us and we look forward to staying there again in the future.

Our family had a great week at this beautiful property. We loved the pool, proximity to the beach and the cleanliness of the property. The neighborhood is just quiet enough while still being close to restaurants and cute parks. Can’t wait to come back!

This property was gorgeous! 6 large bedrooms and 4 full baths, room for everyone , plus a pool. About 1 block walk to the beach. Close to other attractions as well. Would recommend this house for family get togethers. Would definitely consider renting this property again.

This was our third year at this house. Great property! Awesome pool. Plenty of parking and the two drives eases some of the car movement. House is a great size for a lot of people. Very short walk to the beach. Owners constantly upgrading things and take great care of the property. Owners are easy to contact if needed and have been great all 3 years. We love staying here and are already planning our 4th year!!

Wonderful family vacation
This was definately one of our best vrbo experiances. Sunset was perfect for our family of 16. We arrived to a clean house, love the warm painted blues. The kitchen was stocked and organized, you can tell they put a lot of thought into the guests needs. Bedrooms are nice sized. Beautiful beach at surfside is just a short walk, well kept neighborhood, and the pool an added plus, the grandkids enjoyed the pool toys. And of course having a beautiful sunny week made it all the better. Tom and Judy were easy to reach and always responded quickly. Definately recommend!
