About this house rental
This beautiful new home nestles up to a grove of evergreens high on a hill, overlooking the Tillamook Bay and Pacific Ocean. There are expansive views of the bay and ocean from nearly every room in the house. Wildlife, including dear and sometimes bald eagles are seen daily.
This home is ideal for one or more families. Two of the three bedrooms are master suites, each with a king size bed, a long window seat facing the water, doors to a deck, and a private bathroom with double sinks. One bedroom has a roman tub and large, walk-in tile shower. The third bedroom with two twin beds and a full-sized futon is directly off the family room which is equipped with lots of comfortable seating, a flat screen TV, a DVD player and an extensive library of movie/shows, and a stereo. A third full bath with double sinks and shower are close-by.
On the top floor is a more formal living area (complete with gas fireplace) that is open to the dining room & gourmet kitchen where adults can enjoy a glass of wine and chat listening to music while the kids play games or watch movies on the main floor. There is seating for six at the dining room table and additional seating for two at the bar counter. The kitchen is well equipped, including all new stainless steel appliances, microwave, toaster oven, tea kettle, and coffee maker, grinder and beans. Lots of pots, pans, baking dishes and utensils are available. There is also a 5 burner gas grill on the upper deck. There is a half-bath and den off the open living space.
This home has stairs: one flight to enter the first floor living space, and a second flight to the kitchen, dining room and other living space. Bedrooms are located on both floors.
The house has lots of board games, a foosball table, a Bowflex, a pullup bar, kites and toys. The home is all hardwood, with area rugs in the living/family rooms. We encourage shoeless living in the house.
If you enjoy fishing, you will have a grand time! There are charters out of nearby Garabaldi for fishing in the bay or ocean. There are also five rivers that spill into the bay, several well known for salmon fishing. Hiking is close-by in the coastal range and Tillamook forest and several nice beaches are within minutes by car. If you enjoy shopping, Seaside is north, Lincoln City is to the south. If golf is your game, the Gearhart Golf Course (the oldest course in the NW), and Alderbridge in Tillamook are very close.

Great spot to stay near to Tillamook, Rockaway beach, Cannon Beach, and not too far from Astoria. Enjoyed the views of the Bay at Bay City and thankful for close proximity to various destinations but also just outside of them too for some solace!

It was wonderful to return to this lovely home in Bay City for a second time. Our family had a great time. The home is comfortable, the kitchen is so easy to prepare meals in and the view from the deck of the bay is delightful. Our host thought of everything, once again. From the best place to shop for groceries to the best family beaches and about anywhere you may want to visit for a variety of acclivities or just relax. He has thought of about anything you would need to have a great vacation. This stunning home in its quiet neighborhood will make you feel pampered. I am glad we chose to stay here again. It felt like coming home.

We stayed here for a wedding weekend that was in Tillamook and it was a great location, central for things in Tillamook and Rockaway. There was three couples and each of us took a bedroom and it was really nice to have our own bedrooms. There is a beautiful view off of the deck and the whole house just feels cozy. It was nice and clean and we were all really happy with our stay! Thank you, Dean!

The house was very nice. We loved seeing the deer everyday. The view was great!

Family of 6 stayed here- our own family and my in-laws. Plenty of space for the 6 of us. Views were amazing (saw deer) and everything was in working order and as listed. Owner sent email about a week before with all of the “needs to know” information and requests for checkout. As mentioned by other reviewers, be sure to follow directions given by owner and do not follow GPS or you WILL get completely turned around and not be at the house. Tillamook was a short drive away and very convenient for grocery shopping. The stairs were definitely a lot for our in-laws. We ended up doing most of the unloading therefore, so that was a lot of heavy lifting and climbing. We tried to use the garage to unload thinking it would be easier, but it seemed a little temperamental, so we just used the outdoor stairs. The renters before us filled up the trash cans, so luckily we were not throwing much away as garbage was not picked up until 4 days in to our trip. The hardwood floors were pretty slippery in some spots, especially on the first floor- less on second, so just a caution. Note to light sleepers, you should not sleep in the first floor master suite as you can hear all of the movement of those above you. We honestly were on the go quite a bit visiting family or fishing so did not eat in the house for dinners, so can’t speak to use of oven or stove really, but plenty of dishes. We enjoyed gathering for games at the table. Enjoyed greatly overall and would stay again in heartbeat.

We absolutely loved staying here and the communication from the landlord was excellent. The house was perfect with the beautiful bay views, amenities, cleanliness, and proximity to so many fun places along the Oregon Coast. My husband and daughter saw deer in the backyard and we visited many new places and familiar places as well. Look forward to a return visit again!

My family and I had a wonderful weekend together. The house had everything we needed to prepare meals, relax, watch movies, and spend quality time. We were able to jump in the car and explore the area despite the rainy weather, and were eager to get back to the house and be cozy! Our group was age 1 to 82 and the house was set up very well for everyone!

Wonderful house for two families
Amazing modern, clean home with gorgeous views. All new linens were provided. Stayed with my sister’s family and the set up was perfect with each family having their own floor and bathrooms. This was fine for us but just fyi- there are a lot of stairs. Toiletries are not provided but it’s easy to buy what you need from Fred Meyer down the road. Also, Waze will tell you to access the house from 9th St but you access the house from 8th St. Use Google Maps instead. Host is very responsive and helpful. They let you use their salt, oil, etc and they have plenty of plates and cooking supplies, so it’s easy to cook. We donated a non stick pan so it was easier for us to cook eggs ha ha! Highly recommend this home!

Lovely, Spacious Home in Isolated Community
Beautiful home, well-suited to our needs (three adults and two teens). Comfortable beds and pleasant furnishings. The kitchen is well-equipped and the BBQ is excellent. Views of the bay from the bedrooms and slender deck.
Many, many stairs to get to the main level kitchen and bedroom (bringing coolers, bags of food, and suitcases from the car is not for the faint of heart). If you are at all sensitive to the heavy perfumes and chemicals in detergent and dryer sheets, you might want to consider bringing your own sheets and towels. Getting to the beach and any walking jaunts what-so-ever require driving. The local neighborhood is built on very steep hills and is not walk-friendly. The neighborhood is quiet and, again, we really liked the house.

Great Ocean View
The house was clean and well-appointed. The owner was helpful when I couldn’t find my email that had the door code. The home is tucked up high enough that you have a great view. Would totally recommend and would stay there again.

Excellent Views, Great House
This property is lovely. Set above the bay with stellar views that we enjoyed every day. It was especially beautiful at sunset. The house itself is nicely laid out with high end, contemporary finishes. We cooked every meal in due to COVID and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and more. We highly recommend this property for you next vacation on the Oregon Coast. PS The Tilamook creamery is just minutes away. You won't want to miss that. The ice cream is to die for!!

Bay City Getaway
The house was bigger then I expected! More than enough space for two families. We were a party of four adults and three children. The house was clean, comfortable and well laid out. Their DVD selection is huge and several games for all ages as well! Our host was a great communicator and gave us lots of suggestions upon checking. We all enjoyed our stay and would certainly return!
Thanks Dean!!!

Would have been perfect except….
This home is a very nice and spacious home. It’s in a great location close to the Tillamook Cheese Factory and Fred Meyer. It has a beautiful view from both decks and masters. There are plenty of things within the house to stay entertained if the weather is nasty like it was for our stay. There’s a great dvd selection, a Wii, & board games. The garage has a ping pong table, Fooseball table and weight set as well as a tv. The beds are firm but comfortable, the kitchen is spacious and open to the upstairs living room which is nice. The master bath is very nice with a huge shower and soaking tub. We brought our own towels after reading previous reviews about the towels smelling but did end up using a couple of them and they didn’t have an odor.
There were only a few things that made our stay less than perfect. First, the area rug in the upstairs living room smelled so badly of urine that we had to remove it and put it in the office for the entire stay. When we rolled it up we noticed several urine stains visible only on the back side. After removing it, the smell wasn’t as bad but we still had to clean the floor under the rug so we could feel comfortable letting our toddler play. I still got a whiff of it every now and then even with 3 candles burning. Another issue was confusion about garbage and recycling. We were asked not to leave any garbage in the garage but we received no response to texts or calls asking what we should do with the extra. We didn’t want to place extra bags next to the can because we worried animals might get into them. We would have recycled but there wasn’t a green and black can as stated in the checkout instructions. There was only a green can. To be fair, we didn’t text or call the owners until right before checkout since we didn’t realize the problem until then. The only other small things were that the bedding is old and should be replaced and there are no window coverings in either living room. Since there are so many windows it makes you feel on display. If someone in the neighboring home goes on the deck, they can see right into both floors.
We would definitely stay again if these issues were addressed. Overall it was a nice stay.

Perfect family vacation house
Wow! Our stay at this beautiful Bay City house could not have been more perfect. Roomy, comfortable, spotlessly clean, luxurious. The views of the bay from the dozens of windows truly made us feel like we were away from our regular lives and on vacation. The floor plan was ideal for 2 married couples and 4 teens/kids. The ping pong table and foosball table were highlights for the kids. The incredibly well stocked kitchen made it easy to cook meals during our 6 day stay. I can’t imagine finding a better house or a better location for our family getaway.

Amazing views
Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The views from this home are utterly amazing. The neighborhood was quiet, and we had a family of deer visit us - they came right up to one of the downstairs bedroom windows!
The kitchen was well appointed and I had a blast cooking in it. (Note: there is no garbage disposal.)
The two living spaces had plenty of room and comfortable chairs.
Unfortunately there were a few things that were unsatisfactory: 1. Every single bath towel in the house smells like sour old rags. I tried washing them, but that didn't help, and we ended up going into Tillamook to buy some new ones. 2. The gas grill was filthy. There was old food caked on the grate. I would have scrubbed it so we could use it, but the propane tank was empty so it was kind of a moot point. 3. The outside of the windows were disgusting. There were years' worth of cobwebs on them and it was kind of gross having to look at them while cooking dinner.
The bedrooms were huge and well appointed. And the views from both masters are spectacular! You can lie in the upstairs bed and look out over the bay. What a wonderful way to wake up. But the beds are like slabs of concrete, which is fine if that's what you prefer, but if you're like me and prefer sleeping on a cloud, be forewarned. You will need a massage when you get home. The master bath upstairs? Holy smokes!! I could have spent the entire week in that tub!
The game room (converted garage) kept the kiddos entertained for hours which is good for everyone. 😉
All in all, this is a wonderful home. It's great for families with all of its space to spread out. We would recommend it 100% after those few little issues are dealt with.

Great for multi-family vacationing together!!!
Loved the upstairs kitchen and the windows everywhere, every surface was very clean. It would be nice if there were bigger couches upstairs. All in all, this is a perfect house to spend our vacation: scenic views from the house, nearby plenty of spots to hike, beach to walk, restaurants, and Tillamook creamery!
Thank-you to the Evans for your hospitality!

Perfect for a family getaway
Our family had a wonderful time relaxing and enjoying beautiful bay/ocean views in this well stocked, impeccably clean home. Beaches were a short drive away and the awesome game, puzzle, and movie collection made for excellent entertainment during a couple of rainy days.

Great Place for Family Get-Together
Our group that spanned four generations spent five nights in this Bay City home. It was clean, comfortable, and a great place for our group. The kids (ages 13 and 10) especially enjoyed the fantastic collection of DVDs and the ping pong and foosball tables. The adults enjoyed the upper floor with its spacious kitchen, comfortable seating area, and great views from the deck of Tillamook Bay. Driving up to the house, we even spotted a bobcat. We also appreciated our hosts, who were very welcoming, provided detailed information about the house and were very responsive to questions. We thank them!

They are not correct. Follow the owners directions that are provided in the email. The internet connection is very weak upstairs, we couldn’t even watch a movie on Netflix because internet connection kept dropping. Glad there were dvds provided. Someone that stayed there before us must have had a pet. We had white pet hair stuck on our clothes after getting up from the upstairs sofa and white hair on our socks when walking around (we all wear black socks). The pet hair isn’t a big deal but wanted to mention it in case someone has allergies or babies crawling around.Overall we had a very nice stay and recommend this property.

We really enjoyed our stay here! We had a crabbing and relaxing weekend planned and it all turned out great. We got crab in the bay, and had a wonderful meal in the beautiful kitchen and dining room! The kitchen and home had everything we needed! The beds were heavenly and the two master suites were awesome for two couples. Very convenient garage to walk in and drop all our items and just take up what we needed. The sunset views were even more beautiful than we imagined. The location was great, right up the street from Tillamook Jerky and Pepperoni outlet, and a day trip out to the county park and walk along the river was so gorgeous... WE would totally stay here again! Note on location: Make sure you follow the directions provided by the owner/manager instead of your gps...

Lucked out with gorgeous November weather - clear and crisp. Highly recommend. Host was very accommodating and allowed us to moved from original planned stay (would have been during Oregon Fires) to November. Great communicator.

Wish it would have been cleaner
nice property, and the pm was nice. But we had to wash all our pans, silverware, and cooking utensils before we could use them. There was so much filth in the kitchen drawers, cupboards and where the pans were stored. We completely re washed all the silverware, the silverware container, and wiped out the drawer. The frig door handle was sticky and by the frig on the carpet was dirty. The doors to the office had stuff smeared all over them. No propane for the fireplace. Downstairs towels smelled like dog piss when the got damp. Re washing them did not help. The bathrooms were clean though. There was hair in the twin bed. The master bedroom in main floor, dresser drawers were filthy. This is a very nice property, and with a decent clean, would have been great.

Spacious retreat
Our family absolutely LOVED this house. SUPER spacious and plenty of room for our family of four.
Finally, a house we could get some separation, yet spend time as a family. My kids loved this house so much they were so excited when we arrived and they got to check out all the rooms and TVs and space to move around in.
Downstairs is a game room, and a wii system for the whole family. Decks on both levels.
Dean is very Friendly and even accommodated our need for change in plans due to circumstances.
This house was a treat to wake up to and to relax at night w the included music system in the dining room and SPECTACULAR views of the water and land from the top and middle floors.
We will definitely return to this house in the future.

Great stay on the bay!
The house was just as pictured and described on VRBO! This was our first time visiting the Oregon Coast and the house was a great place for us to rest our heads at the end of the day exploring. We had more than enough room for our family of four to spread out and enjoy the views of the bay.
The house was stocked with everything we needed - including an enormous collection of movies. We took a drive to Astoria one day and were excited to be able to watch Goonies that evening after seeing some of the spots they filmed at. The house doesn't have WiFi, which wasn't a dealbreaker for us, but it might be nice for some folks to know that up front in case they needed to do any work that requires a strong connection or kids that expect to be able to stream videos.
Overall, it was a great house to be able to explore Oregon while maintaining our social distance from others!

Beautiful view
We loved this quiet rental. The views of the bay were breathtaking. The garage play room was a favorite for us all. Surprised my kids by schooling them in ping pong (I'm the momma), that was my highlight. I communicated with the owner a couple times and he responded quickly and friendly and was easy to talk to. I only gave it a 4 star rating for cleanliness, as there were a few dusty areas and spider webs on the deck and on the outside windows.
