My family and I had a great time at the lake. The camp was well maintained. The view was amazing and the shallow cove was perfect for the kids to swim in safely.

This cottage was a perfect spot for our family vacation in Vermont. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to cook meals in the home. The location was great for our day trips we planned which included The Vermont Teddy Bear Company, Shelburne Farms, Church Street Marketplace, and Ben and Jerry's. Michele provided great recommendations of other places to visit as well. She was very welcoming and the rental process was simple and we had great communication during our stay. We enjoyed our time spent at the private beach. The small dock was not in the lake until our last day, however my kids had fun floating on rafts and swimming in the water. We would definitely stay here again!

-cabin had pleasant appearance, kitchen equipment well organized, "beach" almost nonexistent due to high water this summer, but access adequate, & the lake there very nice for swimming. I would recommend getting a dish drainer for handwashing dishes, and a clothes dryer on top of the washing machine. In this moist environment, dankness and mustiness are the enemy of comfort.

This was our second stay at Michele's cabin on the lake. The location is perfect, and the cabin had everything we needed for a fun and enjoyable stay.

Everthing we needed was in the cottage loved sun porch

The cabin was extremely clean. The views from the porch were breath taking. We spent the most time on the porch. Michelle was quick to responsed to any question i had. I needed a nice relaxing drama free week and thats what i got. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed are stay in this house. It was very clean and right on the lake- every night was a spectacular sunset (well except for the day it rained!). Very near a multipurpose trail for running/walking/biking, that lead to the causeway out into the lake. It was fun running on it! I would definitely recommend this house. It was very nice for our family of 4.

Everything you could ask for! The cottage has warmth and charm - very clean and nicely decorated (decor and furniture) with an airy front porch that offers amazing views of the lake. It's in a great location - Colchester has beaches and restaurants and is a short drive to Burlington. The owners were wonderful with communication and attention to detail. We've rented twice and would consider going back again.

Had a great time staying at this cute camp. It was immaculate and had everything we needed for a memorable trip. Loved the view of Mallets Bay and the causeway. A great week for us!

Best views and sunsets on Malletts Bay, walking distance to the Causeway Trail. Location great for getting to Burlington or other Vermont spots. Cottage has everything we needed and owners responsive. Would definitely stay here again.

Views galore
Very nice well stocked camp. Water is warm and shallow, location convenient and owners easy. Wonderful views. Bring bikes if you can. We had a great stay.

Nice quiet spot on the lake with beautiful views.
This cottage was our quiet getaway from the big loud family reunion that we were attending while in VT. It was perfect. Quiet, safe, clean and had everything we needed. I stayed there with my teenage son. The beds were comfortable. The owners were great about communicating. The weather was perfect when we were there. One thing to keep in mind was that the owners do not provide sheets and towels, which I found a little odd for a rental. I’m guessing most people are driving there, so it’s not a problem for them to bring these things. We were flying. I reached out to the owner ahead of time and they were very accommodating - very easy to work with.

Great week in Colchester
Great location, very quick to get onto the causeway to enjoy the great views, and easy to ride to one of the many great parks in Colchester. Kids really enjoyed the clear shallow bay. The house was ideal for the 4 of us, clean, plenty of kitchen tools, and great support from Mark and Michele on any questions we had. A+

The location of the house is outstanding. The owner is friendly. The causeway bike path is very close. The house is close to services and central to places we wanted to go. Access to the lake with our kayaks was a bit of a challenge getting them up and down the steep stairs.

Rustic cabins with great views (+ some caveats)
The property has gorgeous sunset views of Lake Champlain and is minutes from the Colchester Causeway, which is a fantastic biking/walking/jogging experience with beautiful views. The cabin is rustic and solid, which a great screened in porch for meals and views. A few notes for travelers to consider:
- The staircase to the water - as others have noted - is treacherously steep and NOT accessible to small children or anyone with even minor mobility issues.
- The listing specifies that bedding and linens are laundered in hot water, but is not specific that sheets and towels are NOT included. Most listings are very explicit about bedding/linens being not included.
- The owner communicated a few days prior to our arrival that the washing machine was broken - an important factor for us with a 5 year old attending farm camp (dirty clothes!) all week. We were told the washer was repaired prior to arrival, but it was non functional (fast and significant leak on the bathroom floor when we tried to use it and there were no provided towels for clean-up). The owner was responsive but the unit was not repaired until our last day. She gave me $40 cash at our departure for the inconvenience, but a $100 credit and/or refund would have been more appropriate. Spending a 1/2 day of vacation in a laundromat stinks, plus the ongoing energy sunk into the "will it work / will it not work / when can a repair person come into the unit" back-and-forth was not ideal.
Some smaller and inexpensive details to this rental would go a long way to attracting more potential renters + potential higher rental prices. Overall still a positive rental but with some kinks to work out.

Great, basic camp in a beautiful spot
My family (hubby, 5 year old, and 10 month old) all had an amazing week at this camp. The location is amazing-- right on the water in a calm, protected area, and directly adjacent to the Causeway for walking and cycling. The hosts were excellent and very communicative. My favorite part is that it was SUPER CLEAN! Our baby crawled all over the place and never got dirty-- that is a great testament to how well they keep this camp up. I was worried that there wasn't a dryer, but clothes dried very fast on the clothes line outside so it wasn't a problem at all. We will definitely be back!

This was perhaps one of the nicest, cleanest cottages we have stayed in on the Lake. The kitchen had all you could need or want and then some; and the selection from pots/pans to serving dishes were quite nice. The porch overlooking the lake was the best spot in the house, and provided an amazing view of any storms coming across the Lake! We had a slight snafu when we arrived as the Wifi password had recently been changed but not updated in the welcome paperwork but that was quickly remedied through email. We also did not know where they kept the blankets, but Michele responded quickly when I reached out. The only negative that we experienced were the stairs leading down to the water. They are at a very steep angle, with nowhere to go but straight down if you lose your footing which was concerning with my elderly mother and her friend, so we basically avoided them which was unfortunate because we would have like to enjoy the water more. Children on those stairs seem scary; they did install a locked gate at the top to avoid kids just barreling down, but still a safety concern in my mind. Great sunsets and cocktails outside on the small terrace.

We had a great time at this house. The beach area was perfect for kayaking and the house is very convenient to the Burlington / Colchester/ Causeway bike path. We spent most of our time enjoying the bins paths or the beach (very shallow and warm) but we made several trips into Burlington as well. The sunroom was our favorite place to hang out, the view is just stunning!

Our family of 4 stayed in this cozy camp on Malletts Bay. The house was small but fine for a week away. It was steps away from the lake (they are very steep), but a small nice beach to sit and relax lakeside. The Colchester Causeway is next the the property which was awesome for a run or a bike ride to the sunset. The games and books need to be updated for those rainy days. I would recommend bringing or renting kayaks/paddleboards for the lake. It is a short 15 minute drive to Burlington which is a fun town, and it's not far from Stowe to hike the tallest peak in VT. Overall a great place to stay with minimal ammenities for those who want to get away!

Great cabin to enjoy the lake. We have a 4 year old so the shallow water was ideal!

Great spot, and amazing sunsets! Lake Life!
We had a great time at this property. The cottage had everything, including a grill. The views of the causeway, the lake, and the mountains were picturesque! It’s a great location, we were close to many hiking, biking and water spots.

Charming camp cabin; great sunset
Enjoyed our stay, though the indoor stuffiness due to 94 degree weather and an extra soft double mattress made sleeping more of a challenge.
Hosts very responsive; evening meals watching the sunset from the patio fantastic.
Our son loved being able to spend mornings wading around in the shallow water in the lake.
4.7
Great location to bike path
Great sunsets, very close to bike path. Gets a lot of sunshine in afternoon which is nice. Steps to beach are steep, just keep an eye on little ones.

Mid August Getaway with young kids
We really enjoyed our stay here. We are two adults with two young kids and the size of the cottage was perfect for us. Plenty of space. No matter what the temperature was outside it always seems to stay fairly cool inside the cottage which was helpful on a few hot days we had. The view from the porch is amazing and the sunsets are incredible.
If you are traveling with young kids (ours are 4 and under) a few things to note:
Stairs to the beach are definitely steep but we managed fine each carrying a child. The property is fenced in with a sturdy gate at top of the beach stairs which I really approached.
Beach is super shallow and amazing for little ones.
No bathtub in the bathroom but we did fine with the handheld shower head.
We loved our stay here and found lots of fun things to do in the area.
