Completed in 2009, this wonderful three-bedroom, two-story hillside villa with its own pool offers its guests the finest finishes and furnishings in a tropical setting.
The house is part of a group of homes, but each house is set apart for maximum privacy and comfort. The first floor consists of a living room, dining room, bath, fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops, and a blue-tiled pool. The outside barbecue/patio area is adjacent to a private green area with native fruit trees and tropical plants of Costa Rica. The second floor offers two master bedrooms with private baths and walk-in tropical showers. Each of the bedrooms has a small private balcony overlooking a garden area. The third bedroom, also with an en suite bath, is in a separate private cabin that opens onto the deck and pool area. A three-minute walk down the narrow road just north of Casa Colibri is Playa Tamarindo - a beautiful white sand beach. The house has complete access to the Langosta Beach Club giving your family an extra special retreat. The large pool and private cabanas offer a great relaxing way to spend the day. Enjoy the gym, eat lunch at the restaurant or just enjoy the lounge chairs on the beach. All (besides your food!) is included in your rental. The center of Tamarindo is less than a mile away. This is our second time to stay in this house. It is perfect for our family of 4 and grandparents. It’s an easy walk to the beach, but a golf cart is must. The rental company connected us to a golf cart company and made the process very easy. We loved seeing monkeys and different kind of birds in the back yard. We hope to come back again.

The house was great. We loved the little guest suite to the side of the house. Everything was clean and available. It’s a long walk up the hill once you get into the gated neighborhood, but we had gotten golf carts, so that was a big plus. Would definitely recommend golf carts. Some of the locks were difficult to use, but we figured them out eventually.

We loved this home so much! We went as a family - my dad, brother and my husband. My husband and I stayed in the casita. It was perfect. The pool was bigger than I expected and was perfect for a morning dip before going to the beach club. A lot of peaceful mornings for us all. This was a bittersweet trip for us- my mom recently passed away and Costa Rica was one of her favorite places. We were so happy to be able to visit one of her favorite places as a family. Def recommend to come here for a peaceful vacation.

The property was as advertised. Clean and well appointed. The showers with access to the outdoors provided a fun Costa Rican experience. Best of all was the well tended, tropical private back yard with a small pool. From here I enjoyed spotting and hearing the birds (and monkeys) every morning.

We loved our visit at this condo. It has just what we needed and had everything we would want. The pool and backyard were amazing and had a great view. Loved the Howler Monkeys right at our tree. The property has close beach access and is a half-mile or less walk on the beach to town. The Longosta Beach Club is a 10-minute beach walk and was a wonderful experience. Overall a good rental. Upscale area, convenient to town, comfortable accommodations, cool architectural style. There is a lot of construction going on in the complex, but not too noisy or intrusive. Bedroom bathrooms/showers are open to the outside and not air conditioned so they can be warm and humid during the day. Complex is protected by security and guarded entrance. Pool area at night needs more lighting. We would definitely stay there again.

To start off communication with the Management company was confusing since I wasn’t expecting emails to my company other than Vrbo I missed an email. Then once all of that got sorted out the day before our trip we ended up having to get a new rental this one. We arrived late in the night and the property was nearly impossible to locate even with the assistance of the security it took over a half hour to find the property since tropical vacations did not actually give us the full unit number. The home itself was adequate but nothing spectacular. The appliances were a bit out dated and the out door showers made the rooms warmer than we like. The pool is much smaller than it appears in the pictures and the property was not maintained grass was over grown and plants falling down around the pool. Also the pool was wayyyy over chlorinated and the pump wasn’t actually working which we knew because one of our guests actually specializes in the brand of pool equipment they use as profession. There was no parking as the only areas to park for access to property was being used for storage of building supplies and was taped off. There was so much construction on new homes we woke up to and listened to all day the sounds of construction. All of us agreed that the only thing that made this rental even a little bit worth it was access to the beach club which was phenomenal. They do provide a lot of towels

Property was very clean and private, located in a gated community with employees at the guard shack 24/7. Interior was very modern and comfortable. Langosta Beach Club access was a huge plus. About a 10 minute walk to beach, 15-20 minute walk to downtown Tamarindo. Only minor issue was the lack of detail on which "Casa Colibri 4" we had reserved as there are four identical properties (4-1, 4-2, 4-3, 4-4), but management was easy to contact to find this information. Overall would highly recommend staying here.

Great for families
This property was great for my family! It was a bit far from the beach, but was an enjoyable walk before it got too hot. We saw lots of wildlife at the house. There was a family of howler monkeys that lived in the trees behind the house. Really amazing experience! Also lots of birds. The house was clean, and the kitchen was well stocked. Beds were comfortable, and plenty of linens. The outdoor (private) showers and bathrooms were a very cool detail to the house. The pool at first glance was small, but it was perfect for our young kids. We would be happy to stay again!

First Vacation since onset of COVID
The property was absolutely beautiful. Just as the pictures showed. The beach and town were just a short walk away and had everything we needed. Our concerns about renting a car were solved when we rented a UTV for 3 days. I would recommend these or a golf cart. Pelican Tours can get you anywhere else you need/want to go.
I would caution people when using the recommended tour companies provided by the property manager. We tried to cancel one of our water based activities 2 days before because of high winds and rough seas and were made to pay a penalty fee. Check the cancellation policy before booking. We weren’t informed of one and wouldn’t have booked if we had known.
Do your research. There are many services available for better value and service than what is recommended by the rental agency.
The property however was beautiful. Location was great. We will return to Costa Rica next year a little better informed.
