Great Lakeside Location!
This was our second visit to this property, and we want to make it an annual vacation. The large sandy beach was perfect for swimming! We had so much room to just relax and have fun. This is a perfect location to be able to do so much, or just relax together in a beautiful spot! Tom made everything so easy, and he was so helpful with any questions. This was just a great experience for me, and for my family.

Great camp for a family vacation
We loved the beautiful private beach and having campfires every night. The camp has an open concept that was great for spending time in the camp. We prepared all of our meals at the camp and the kitchen included everything we needed. Thanks to the Bush family for everything!!

Excellent On Lake Location, Great Family Vacation
We have now returned 7 times to this great vacation destination and it seems that every year gets better. The Cottage is located right on the water with a private beach and access to kayaks and canoe. The view over Highland lake is breathtaking with little boat traffic. The cottage is spacious with more than enough room for our family of six. Everything you need is on hand and in excellent condition. The weather was perfect with daytime temperatures in the low 80's with nights cooling into the high 50's. All in all, a perfect vacation which we look forward to repeat every year. Highly recommend!!!

Wonderful time with friends!
The property was very nice, it was the perfect place for a multi-family vacation. The big, sandy beach was a huge hit with the kids. We swam, kayaked, canoed, etc all day long and even walked in to town a couple times. There was plenty of space inside and out. The small pool table helped keep people occupied on a rainy day. Overall, it was a wonderful week. As soon as we got on the road all the kids were asking when we can come back!

Beautiful Autumn Weekend!!
We have stayed at this location for 6 summers and wanted to spend some quiet time over Columbus Day Weekend to enjoy the scenery and the foliage. Tom Bush was very helpful in setting up the 3 night rental. As ALWAYS the house was in excellent, clean condition with everything that we needed on hand. The view this time of year is breathtaking and the lake traffic is almost nonexistent allowing us to take trips across the lake on the kayaks. We were fortunate to find this GEM in Maine 6 years ago and plan for many returns in the future. 5 star Rental!!

Wonderful home, amazing views, relaxing sandy beach, water was great for swimming!
We had a fantastic week at this rental. The house was immaculate, and we had everything we needed from the minute we arrived. The sandy beach was perfect for our three year old to play and swim and the dock was great for fishing. The kayaks and canoe are great to have and we took them out daily! The large deck was the perfect place to relax and has great views of the lake. Tom is great to work with and we hope to be back again next year!

Peaceful and Relaxing
We rented this beautiful lakefront cottage for a week's stay in August. We found the location to be perfect, secluded and private with excellent views of the lake and of the White Mountains. Access to the private beach was great, and we enjoyed nightly fires with s'mores. The private dock offered great views for morning coffee and afternoon sunshine. We had visits from a few loons each day which was a delight. We found the house to be spacious for our family (3) and it was very clean and well kept. Nice large deck overlooking the lake and a charcoal grill provided for some good dinners. The Bush family owns the adjacent houses/cottages so it was always quiet and relaxing. Overall, we loved this experience and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice, peaceful and relaxing week on a lovely Maine lake.

Beautiful scenic property perfect for family!!
This was our fourth summer renting this beautiful property for a week. It's a time when our famply of six get together and spend a relaxing week on Highland lake. The house is spacious and sleeps six adults comfortably. It has a fully furnished kitchen with new appliances. The view from the master bedroom is breathtaking with large windows looking out on the lake. The house comes with games, books and a pool table. Kayaks and a canoe are also included in the rental. Love spending the early morning kayaking on the lake with little boat traffic. The house is minutes away from downtown Bridgton with many places to eat and stores to visit. We look forward to our weekly vacation in Maine and Tom and his family go out of their way to make this house feel like a second home. We have also spent weekends in the fall enjoying the foliage and peaceful lake. We look forward to spending many future summer vacations on this lovely property.

The definition of relaxation!
Our busy family of four was in need of an extended weekend of downtime and the only thing on the agenda was to relax. That's exactly what we did! The cottage was clean, the set up provided privacy from our two boys and the private beach and dock along with the kayaks and canoe provided entertainment for everyone in the family. The kitchen was fully stocked with anything you may need to cook with. We took advantage of the option to have sheets and towels supplied for us- well worth it plus beach towels were available. My only complaint- it's booked for the entire summer and we would have loved to return for a longer stay! Looking forward to returning another time. Tom was great to work with, detail oriented, prompt and so accommodating. We can't thank the Bush family enough for sharing their hidden gem with us.

We just returned from a wonderful week at this lovely lakefront cottage. We very much enjoyed the large deck overlooking the lake. You have a view of almost all of Highland Lake and it opens up the whole house so that you feel very close to the lake even when you are in the house.
We appreciated very much the use of the canoe and kayaks. We would go out for an early morning paddle and enjoy the morning calm on the lake. The pool table inside also came in handy, especially on the rainy day.
It also was nice to be within walking distance of Bridgton. The pictures and listing give an accurate impression of the property.
It is a nice, quiet place to spend a family vacation on a lake in Maine.

This house was everything you would expect from the pictures and more. My family ranging in ages from early 20's to late 80's all found this waterfront home spacious and comfortable. This included my 9yr old dog. Well kept and many amenities to make vacation more enjoyable. Touring the lake from kayaks and canoe was beautiful tho the lake is much larger than what you see from the deck. Didn't have the best weather, but watching the thunder storms come racing across the lake through the enourmous window facing the lake was fun too. The town is still quaint and a very short distance to the house. Lots going on if you look. Had not been in Maine for quit a few years since selling my own place. Felt like home.

The description of the cabin is totally accurate. It was perfect for this California family of six; including adults, transitional age youth and a six year old. We used the canoes and kayaks as well as fished off the dock. We had lovely campfires on the private sandy beach. We went on a wonderful long hike in the white mountains of New Hampshire. We bought groceries at the biggest grocery store there - this was the only drawback. Brighton is adorable but no Whole Foods:( We had to wade through Whoppie Pies to get a few organic products and very little local ingrediants.. Luckily the roomy cabin and beautiful lake more than compensated for lack of the right kind of coffee:).

This rental is part of a private 'family compound' consisting of two rental cottages and 3 family residences, all of which have adjacent lake frontage. This property is near the end of a private lane and, while not isolated, it does offer a sense of privacy. The owners were very hospitable and exceptionally generous in their efforts to make our stay comfortable and ideally suited to our particular needs. The home was well-maintained and as described in the listing, with a large master bedroom (up a few stairs) with its own wonderful view of the lake. The large deck is truly an extended living space. The beach area is on a very small cove which offers a sense of intimacy and is a favored feeding place for dabbling ducks. The canoe and kayaks were fundamental to our enjoyment of beautiful Highland Lake and its resident Loons and Bald Eagle. The lake does have some boat traffic (and a few jet skis) but there were a couple times when I had the sense of being the only person out on the lake. We've rented on Highland Lake previously and, while I prefer the greater remoteness of the northern part of the lake, the shoreline of this property juts out somewhat such that it 'turns it back' on the public areas (boat launch and beach) at the lake's southern tip. The ONLY thing that would have made the experience better for me personally would have been greater isolation but, overall, the experience was a great one. I would highly recommend this rental without any hesitation.

Owners are very hospitable, location is fantastic !! Cabin is spacious and well equipped. Felt right at home here. We were able to use owners canoe and windsurfer and the kids had a blast. We had family of six; two adults, four teens and two dogs and had ample room. Kids loved the pool table, and mom read several books. quiet area that is not over run with tourists but still near amenities. We brought small motor boat and the lake was amazing, not much boat traffic, great swimming and really friendly people. Only recommendations we have is for a dock to be installed and would have liked a bit more sun on the deck.. but stayed nice and cool there. Our weather was picture perfect ! We would gladly rent again.
