Comfortable, rustic farmhouse that is conveniently located minutes from downtown Durango. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen well stocked, and the decor is quaint. The only con was that when the windows were opened in the evenings to cool the house down there was road noise. This would not be an issue in cooler or winter months.

Spent 5 nights here for our 55 anniversary. Great base for doing the sights,. Loved the house beyond words> Lana is a joy to work with.

Cute older farmhouse. Very clean and decorated to represent a historic past. Excellent location and privacy yet close enough to go into Durango every day.

Great place. Very old farmhouse in great condition and modernized where appropriate without taking away from the original aesthetics. The yard is spectacular. Short distance from town. Nice hot tub right outside the door. King sized bed was very comfortable.

This is an old home with funky additions and creaky leaning floors but surprisingly clean and neatly updated. We were very comfortable there, having plenty of room to put away our stuff, and stock the kitchen for our week stay. I was concerned that an old house like that would have cold bedrooms when temps dipped near zero but the heater kept up fine. The gas fireplace in the front room throws out a lot of heat making for a cozy evening there. The kitchen was outfitted with most any dish, utensil and appliance you could want, so fixing meals was just like at home. There was basic satellite TV, and decent wifi we were able to stream some shows with a chromecast I brought along. Access to Durango is an easy drive along the county road where the house is located. During the snowstorm while we were there I noted that the road was cleared and sanded promptly, as well as the home's driveway so no concerns of being stuck there. Traffic in front of the house is light and can't be readily heard inside. This home checked all the boxes for us and for a quiet stay I would highly recommend it.

The house is charm and the decoration is quite unique. My family and I spent very good time during 2022 Dec holidays. Great hub for Ski and other outdoor activities. Kids spent good time outdoor in the same property sliding and making snowman. The kitchen is very comfortable and have all tools available, bathroom is big and comfortable too. Mrs. Lana, the manager, is outstanding taking care you experience real vacation time... she even goes and take care of the trash can logistic and others. Highly recommended.

The farmhouse is a lovely, quaint property located below the Hermosa cliffs in the Animas river valley. We were very comfortable and had a lovely time. The owner/hostess was very helpful and nice and we intend on returning here in the future.

This was the first time my wife and I booked a property thru VRBO. The house was exactly as described, and to my delight they even had coffee (and tea) and 2 propane cylinders for our use. I had not expected that, so we brought some from home. It's an old house that has had many additions/changes over the years - I really would have enjoyed seeing pictures of the house thru the years, I'm sure there is a lot of history there. The hot tub was fantastic, and honestly it's the reason I selected this particular property in the first place. The best part though, is the gas stove in the living room. I've been trying to tell my wife that they are so much better than traditional fireplaces, but she refused to be convinced. Well, she's a believer now, lol. If we ever return to Durango or the surrounding area, we will almost certainly book this house again or one of their other properties.

Perfect stay
House and grounds perfect for us. Private setting, great stars at night, wonderful wildlife to see in yard - including deer, foxes, blue jays and doves. Well equipped kitchen. House is on an attractive country road just 2 miles from Durango city limit with beautiful mountain views in just about every direction. Owner was pleasant and helpful in email and telephone communications. Owner provided information for WiFi, cable and home systems was complete and easy to understand. We look forward to returning in the future!

Nice vacation property
We spent two weeks at this lovely house and property. The lot was enticing: large, shaded, with a grill and hot tub nearby. It was a nice environment in which to relax. We kept the house cool by keeping windows open overnight and placing a fan in the main living room window. The kitchen floor could benefit from an upgrade, but otherwise, the house met our needs. I’d love to own property in this part of the Durango area. It’s close to town without being in it

We enjoyed the property and it’s quiet, private location. It would have been helpful if there was a screen door on the front door so we could leave it open without all the flying insects coming in. Even though there was no air conditioning, we were comfortable with the windows open and the fans running. We couldn’t get the floor lamp to work in the living room which would have softened the lighting a bit. Overall, an excellent experience!

The farmhouse was great for us and our 2 dogs. We have been going to Durango for 18 years and this was our 1st time to stay on County Road 250. The location was great for easily getting to town. We were able to softly hear the Durango/Silverton train horn everyday, echoing through the valley. Our dogs loved the big property. We enjoyed seeing the deer in the early mornings as well. There are so many road bikers on CR 250 at all times of the day. Very neat, but you need to be careful when pulling out of the property. CR 250 is a convenient way to travel, North or South (not very much traffic). We enjoyed spending our time on the property gazing up at the mountains. It was peaceful and the views were fantastic.

Absolutely dreamy!
The farmhouse was exactly what we needed! Beautifully decorated, quiet, with cricket lulling us to sleep at night. What more could you ask for! Would most definitely recommend!

This property exceeded our expectations!! Our family of four, plus our dog had the best winter getaway. Lana the owner is super responsive and was extremely helpful in making sure these Texans could safely navigate our way out of a snowstorm! We have stayed in so many rentals over the years and this literally is the first one that was so well stocked on things like toilet paper, trash bags, laundry detergent, coffee filters, etc.... they even had dog treats for their furry guests. We highly recommend.

Leaving the Heat Behind
Process was extremely easy. House was exactly what we expected.

Great summer getaway
Lovely setting. Enough space for our family of four and dog. Close to downtown. We had a couple questions/issues — Lana was helpful, responsive, and gracious every time.
Tip — if at this house in the summer, consider using fans in the closets. It can get a little warm during the day (we were there in the heat of July). The fans helped cool things off well.

Not welcoming if you have a group of friends
This cottage was very charming at first sight I had discussed with the property owner that I wanted to have a gathering for Thanksgiving. I told her at least 8 to 10 people? she said it might be tight but she didn’t say don’t come.
Our grown children live down there as well as extended family and friends. We did not need to rent a VRBO we thought it would be nice to have a gathering place for everyone. Lanas website sounded like it was a farmhouse on 20 acres that was pet friendly with space. This sounded perfect. Her website is misleading the farmhouse is next to the road and she lives directly behind it.
Upon entering the farmhouse we realized the the floors were uneven in multiple directions depending on what room you were in. My sister has vertigo the only room she could be in was the kitchen and the bedroom. The hot tub was in terrible shape when we arrived It was cloudy, it irritated our eyes, skin and turned our silver jewelry black instantly. We chose not to complain about this and the floors.
After speaking to Lana on Black Friday we chose to leave early knowing we would be paying for the remaining 2 nights. I told her we would leave it immaculate. I always clean up My VRBO rentals this was no exception. Floors were mopped and vacuumed, beds were stripped and blankets folded. I took a video to show how clean we left it This property manager has chosen to hold our deposit back stating things that are not true.
Our Thanksgiving gathering there was beautiful full of love friends and family We did have a party we celebrated but I am a 57 year old women so this wasn’t a party of kids and everyone was gone by 11pm. I think Uber is more responsible than driving after drinking. I offered to put a pet deposit down once I realized I was supposed to put a pet deposit down But the manager had already made up her mind. She is unethical. When I told her I wanted to have a larger gathering for Thanksgiving she should’ve said no in the very beginning and I would have never rented her farmhouse.
Lana needs to update her website to say pet friendly with deposit. No large gatherings or anyone that isn’t renting is not allowed to stop by. It’s on the road and it is not private.

Lovely Place
Quiet, beautiful views, yet still close to Durango shopping, events & the D&SNG train experience. The Farmhouse was clean & charming. Owner was only an email or text away for questions. Full kitchen allowed us to cook & washer/dryer allowed us to stay ahead of laundry. We will definitely consider any of Lana’s properties in the future.

We enjoyed our stay at the farmhouse. Our dogs loved the property. Easy instructions to check in and out. We would definitely recommend it.

Beautiful Old Farmhouse
Stayed here several years ago and thoroughly enjoyed our visit then. This time around did not disappoint. Loved sitting out on the patio in the cool mornings under the oak trees listening to the Durango/Silverton train whistle blowing as it moved North. The house is close to town but not too close. Quiet and peaceful and enjoyed the ambiance of the old farmhouse.

Nice & quiet
Very nice property and very well equipped. Owner has made sure you have everything you need for your stay and is very accommodating. Lovely quiet area. We had a visit from about 10 very large deer one morning in front yard...exciting!

Beautiful property and beautiful drive to the property. Love the views and the overall set up. It was only two of us but this home could certainly accommodate a large group.

Perfect get away spot!!
We were fortunate to be able to spend 11 nights at The Farmhouse in early May 2019. What a fabulous spot to unwind, relax and soak in all the beautiful surroundings! The Farmhouse itself is warm, cozy and spotless. Lana, the owner, has made sure that everything you need for a stress free get-away is right at your finger tips....from comfortable beds to a fully equipped kitchen to an inviting hot tub! (Sadly, we did not use the hot tub due to my asthma). It was awesome to be able to have coffee on the patio in the morning and listen to the birds!! We also ate most of our dinners there, as well, to be able to watch the beautiful sunset over the mountains. Simply lovely. Five stars is not enough of a rating! As my Mother would say "This is a 10 star place".!!

Cozy cottage
Lovely home, quirky furnishings. Met the sweet horses across the street. Great view from hot tub. All in all a great stay.

Nice cozy house with amazing views and great location.
We were impressed with the professional attitude of the owners. It snowed quite a bit everyday we were there and the owners would come twice a day to clear the driveway and any excess snow in the roof. The house was stocked nicely and everything functioned as expected.

Perfect location, great views, amazing attention to detail/ pet friendly/
The farmhouse is an amazing gem, a few miles from town in Durango, yet super quiet and peaceful in the animas valley. The owner of the farmhouse has an amazing attention to detail and thinks of everything that makes a guest stay super easy and fun. There is wifi, dish network tv, and great amenities for a historic property, great driveway, and visited by a family of deer....
if you are planning on going to mesa verde, durango, skiing, hiking, etc, look no further, a million times better than a hotel and 3 bedrooms... Great communication from owner!!!

We loved this place!
We stayed for 3 nights and had a very enjoyable experience. This adorable house was very clean, private and comfortable. It was perfect to spend time with our family, the kitchen is big with a large table and we played cards and games a lot! We'd definitely come stay again sometime!
