Great property! Close to Bar Harbor and Acadia. Suggest Whale Watching Tour and sunrise at Cadillac Mountain. We also kayaked on the river right behind the house. Lots today in the area. Enjoyed having a place that was central to what the family wanted to do. Owner kept in touch and was very responsive to our requests. Would go back again!!

The house was great for our family of 6 adults and 2 children. Loved being on the lake. View was fantastic. Made use of the kayak and loved seeing the bald eagle flying about. Not a far drive from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. And also enjoyed Ellsworth.

We picked the more centralized location of Ellsworth for our Acadia/Bar Harbor touring on our first trip to Maine because Bar Harbor is pricey and crowded. This house was more than we expected it to be. The views are stunning and the deck and outside areas are very nice! As this place was mid-stay for our tour, the access to a washer and dryer was welcomed. Would definitely stay here again!

Overall was a wonderful stay. I’m not used to not having AC other than that it was perfect!!!

Rented this property for myself and 4 other coworkers from across the country while we in the area for training. While we put in very long days at work, it was so good to come back to a place that felt like a vacation. I don’t get that kind of feeling from staying in hotels, which I stay in frequently, so this was a treat, especially with the quiet location and amenities of the property. Will definitely look to stay here the next time we get together in this part of Maine!

Beautiful home with river right out your back door and natural setting. Close enough to Acadia for daily adventures.

The property is very private, surrounded by woods. The home was perfect and full of windows overlooking the river that wrapped around the point. The pictures do not do it justice. There is plenty of room to relax indoors or out. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are nearby as many other local destinations. We enjoyed sitting around the fire pit and kayaking just out the back door. The host was very attentive and easily available to contact, if needed. Staying in this home and the beautiful spot it’s on was in and of itself a retreat. We hope to return.

From the moment we step in to the house we knew we had made the right decision. The view of the river was fantastic. We discovered an eagles nest across the river and watched it catch fish a soar up and down the river. The house was equipped with everything we needed we highly recommend this property to anyone traveling to the Bar Harbor area. The next time we visit Maine, we will definitely stay there. It was a pleasure speaking with the owner. He also sent a list of places to visit and the best places to eat

We are four couples that have traveled together for years. This is on of the best homes we have ever stayed for our fall vacation. The owner was very quick to respond to any questions we had. The property is secluded along a quiet river with impressive viewes. There is plenty of room both inside and outside the home. Acadia National Park is a short drive away with amazing views and trails for all levels of hikers. And don't forget, this is LOBSTER country. Visit one of the many lobster pounds in the area.

Adequate space for four couples with nice grounds and reasonable proximity to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Nice grounds with access to and pretty views of the river.

The house and property were fantastic. There was plenty of room in the house for everyone to enjoy, especially the great room. The back patio was awesome to sit and relax. Very quiet and excellent views of the river. For those that went paddle boarding on the river, they were greeted every day by a curious seal. Great place to stay!

For our group of 10, the spacious layout of this property was awesome. Jonathan was most helpful right from the early stages of booking. Thank you.
A couple of items that would have been helpful in the property description: no AC, & no blinds to keep out early morning sun
One member of our family is wheelchair bound so the entrances were challenging, but with a couple of strong family members we were able to make do. Once inside great. Many thanks.

Family Gathering
We had a fabulous visit to Maine and Acadia National Park. The home was in a perfect location and was peaceful setting. We saw seals swimming in the river and tracked bald eagles flying along the shoreline. The owner communicated well and the property accommodated our party of 10 nicely! We would definitely stay again if we return to Maine. If you are looking for activities, sign up for the Cadillac Mountain sunrise tour and e bike on the carriage trails. Once of our best activities ever on our annual family trips.

The home was wonderful. Lots of space for family of all ages to enjoy. The rooms were wonderfully prepared- comfortable beds, plenty of blankets, as well as items to enjoy. There were books, puzzles, and games for all ages. The pool table was enjoyed. We definitely plan to return in the future, The view was absolutely gorgeous. Also very close to Acadia and lots to see. Again a perfect place to disconnect and recharge while connecting with family & friends

Ellsworth Cottage on Union River
Our stay was amazing. We enjoyed everything it had to offer. There were 8 of us staying for a family vacation. The home is in a beautiful private spot on the Union River and still very close by to everything at the same time. We spent most of our time in Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Thanks so much for allowing us to vacation here. We had a blast!

Great memories made here!
A wonderful place perfect for large families! A short drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Well equipped kitchen if you’re cooking in. Our favorite spot in the evening was around the fire pit- a nice glass of wine, listen to the birds and watch the sunset. There was even a bald eagle right across the water- beautiful!

Sibling trip!
It was a good place to relax both inside and outside. We did a lot of sight-seeing and eating out; the home would have been very nice to just hang-out and enjoy

The house was just as advertised. There was plenty of room, it was clean and the view of the water while enjoying the fire pit was worth the trip. Additionally, it was close to Acadia/Bar Harbor. Highly recommended.

Excellent Downeast Experience
Having grown up in Maine, I had a pretty good idea of what Maine was all about. This property, however, showed me Maine’s beauty like I had never seen before. The views of the river are spectacular. Waking up to a view from the apartment was a real treat. It was a beautiful place to spend quality time with my family. Everything we wanted to do was within a 40 min. drive. We biked the Carriage Trail in Acadia. We went fishing on Branch Lake. We also mountain biked some great trails in the Wildlands in Orlando. This property was the perfect jumping off point. The pool table was a lot of fun as well.

Views of river even better...
This is a wonderful place for a Maine vacation... enjoy nearby Acadia, or stay put and enjoy the beautiful view of the river on the back deck, even better than the listing suggests ...
(and I should add, the owner is friendly, responsive, and helpful, which we truly appreciated)

Perfect summer retreat
Beautiful house with everything that we need. Picture like backyard right by union river. Close to fine dinning and local brewing places. Perfect for a nice rest after centering Arcadia National Park. Our only regret is that we cannot stay longer. Thank you Jon for letting us staying in your beautiful vacation house!

Offers both scenery and Acadia access
We had a wonderful time and echo the other reviews. The house has lots of space and is well appointed for a group. It offers good access to Acadia - a bit of a drive, but an easy one, and that means you're away from the crowds. The outdoor space is fantastic; I loved morning coffee on the deck, and spent most of the time not in Acadia on the deck enjoying the scenery and wildlife (woodpeckers in the trees and ducks, loons, and herons on the river). As others have said, the owner is super helpful and has lots of great tips. We hated to leave!

Family Reunion in Paradise
This was a superb setting for our six adult family members to get together and unwind. From the peaceful setting to the very comfortable accommodations, it was just what we needed. The kitchen is well equipped and spacious.

Great House for Family Get Togethers
Our family of six adults stayed at the house for 7 days. Great layout for my mom since bedrooms and common areas are located on the same level. House is located on a beautiful spot by a river away from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor which is about a 30 minute drive. Easy access to Bangor airport which was about a 45 minute drive from the the house. The house is bright with lots of large windows and an open floor plan with lots of gathering spaces and there is a large deck space which is well shaded by trees. Jon is a very hands-on host and very accessible when we had questions. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking simple meals. We had a relaxing and enjoyable week.

Ellsworth rental
Beautiful home in great, quiet location. Offers privacy and seclusion with proximity to Bar Harbor and Acadia and all they have to offer. My family loved it there and look forward to returning.

Amazing week in the Bar Harbor area
Beautiful, private house with endless views of the Union River. Immaculately maintained home with all the amenities. A back deck where you can watch the seals play in the river or see a bald eagle fly by. But, you don’t see any neighbors! The owner was very responsive and had great suggestions on things to do while we were in town. Ellsworth is the way to do the Acadia area. Fabulous restaurants downtown without the cost or crowds of Bar Harbor.

Gorgeous river views surrounded by beautiful woods! Jon was EXTREMELY accommodating to our family during the check-in and check-out process — Especially given that we booked at the last minute. Communication was a breeze! My teenaged children loved the billiard table and billiard room especially. We worked/went to school while there. Internet speeds were not at all and issue and there was plenty of room for each person to have the space they needed for their respective zooms. Fully equipped home with all amenities. His suggestions were super detailed and helpful! We wish we’d had more time to enjoy the beautiful deck and the river steps away from the house!

Perfect place close to Acadia!!
This place was perfect for our party of 7.
Plenty of beds and bathrooms.
It was also awesome being on the river and the perfect place to come back to after a day in Acadia/Bar Harbor.
If we come back to Acadia with this size party in the future we will definitely be looking to see if this place is available.
