About this apartment rental
Experience moments of pure gold at golden property ‘La Tana’ – a cosy sanctuary awash with character in the San Marco sestiere
Anchored up close to the gothic Palazzo Zaguri opposite the Museum of Music in sunny Campo San Maurizio, between the cafés of Santo Stefano and the luxury boutiques nuzzling St. Mark’s Square, the lagoon-and-boating themed La Tana sleeps 6 in supreme comfort on the 1st floor of the property reached by internal stairs
Within a waltz of the world-famous La Fenice Opera House and the Gritti Palace’s Riva Lounge for glamorous Grand Canal-side drinks, the apartment embraces 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (one en suite and 2 separate) between a rich canopy of ancient timbers and gorgeous solid wooden floors
Dressed thoughtfully throughout in a glowing palette of sunset yellows with original artwork and book collections giving a distinctly cultured vibe, the air-conditioned accommodation offers Wi-Fi connection and comprises:
- A charming sitting room overlooking the campo and the tipsily tilting bell tower of Santo Stefano to the fore - tastefully furnished with a comfy sofa set beneath a painting of the salt-marsh barene of the fragile Venetian lagoon while a quaint raft of wooden decoy ducks take rest from flight around the room! ;
- A stylish dining room to the side (also with views of the campo to the fore) and a dining suite seating 6 with ease beside a dramatic pictorial vista of Venezia’s campanili at close of day
- A traditional vintage-style (and very cute!) Venetian galley kitchen - partially-tiled and fully equipped for self-catering – with inbuilt appliances, a homely array of wall-mounted copper pans and a collection of model sailing vessels befitting La Tana’s boating theme
- A characterful double bedroom with windows overlooking the square and the gothic archway of Palazzo Zaguri just to the side, featuring an antique French size (small double) bed, elegant period furniture, soft bedside lighting plus a separate (not en suite) bathroom with shower serving the bedroom and the apartment overall
- Two further tasteful double bedrooms attired in matching mellow yellow – both warm and welcoming and sharing a separate walk-in wardrobe:
· A strikingly attractive and generously proportioned master bedroom/suite to the rear overlooking a private courtyard, with a double bed and an en suite tiled bathroom with bathtub and separate shower, plus…
· A third bedroom to the opposite side – cosier and rather more modest in stature – with a French size (small double) bed and its own separate (not en suite) tiled bathroom with walk-up bathtub
- A handy utility room with washing machine which completes the accommodation

OUR COMMENT

Beside the ‘Mercatino San Maurizio’ Antiques Market held on certain dates throughout the year and a short stroll to the Accademia Galleries just across the Accademia Bridge, to 3 vaporetto (water-bus) stops – Accademia, Giglio and Sant’ Angelo – for easy travel about town, and to the traditional Traghetto at Santa Maria Del Giglio ferrying passengers by gondola across the Grand Canal to the laid-back and very beautiful Dorsoduro sestiere

We organize arrivals between midnight and one o'clock with an additional cost of Euro 100, after this time we reserve the right to accept the customer always with a supplement to be quantified according to the time of arrival.

This was a lovely place to stay! They took such great care of us... Enrica was wonderful at communicating and making sure we had what we needed. She sent an amazing guy named Luca who met us at the water taxi and brought us to the apartment, making sure everything was perfect. It was late and we were starving and he even arranged for us to eat at a delicious restaurant right out side our place in the court yard. The place was very charming and we had a lovely time! Thank u so much for letting us stay at your beautiful property. We loved venice! 5 stars all around!!!

La Tana was a lovely apartment and made our stay in Venice a joy. Located within a quiet courtyard about a 10-minute walk to San Marco's square it was just perfect.
The apartment was very clean, and the layout is very conducive for multiple couples.
This is property is managed with the help of Views on Venice who do a great job communicating and are super helpful. Rossana, the young lady who checked us in was prompt, well-spoken and extremely helpful.
HIGHLY recommend La Tana!

La Tana is a wonderfully comfortable and well appointed apartment, approximately 400 metres from St Mark's Square with opportunity to take a water taxi approximately 75 metres from the square. The three bedrooms are comfortable and well appointed with en suites and there is a more than adequate laundry and a kitchen that allowed us to cook quite creative food including our Christmas lunch even if we had to use a little initiative from time to time.
good restaurants are on hand and recommendations were provided on arrival for the best providing local cuisine. the local grocer is not far away for shopping emergencies.
The apartment is well decorated and furnished and incredibly quiet so that we slept soundly and ended up setting alarms to ensure we woke to get on with things.
Each of us agreed that the apartment was far better than we had expected, was a special place to enjoy Christmas and that we were extremely fortunate to have been able to use it. I recommend it to any family of up to six people.
An ice tray would be useful!

Purfect stay.

It was fabulous! Everything was close and easy to get for tourist locations. Annalisa answered any communications quickly. Beds were comfortable. Alisa also arranged our boat from train station to apartment. Great idea. Unfortunately we had a grumpy boat driver who let us off at wrong dock. Everything else was wonderful

We had a lovely stay! The team was incredibly responsive to both preliminary emails as well as via WhatsApp messages while we were on the property. They met us at the boat dock and walked us through the whole apartment, showing us where everything was and how to use the various appliances. We were three adults and two young children (who had a ball trying to figure out how all the rooms were connected!), so this space was perfect for the five of us. The location itself was fantastic - so accessible and an easy walk to everywhere we wanted to go (generally 15 mins at most anywhere in the city). Highly recommend a stay with them!

Excellently equipped, perfectly located, roomy apartment on the quiet Campo San Maurizio. Hard to imagine a better apartment for the price. The hosts (Views on Venice) were very helpful, hospitable and easy to contact and happily made arrangements for our transfers from the train station on arrival and to the airport on departure. Cannot praise them enough, everything was confirmed and communicated and worked like a charm. 5 stars all around!

The apartment was as advertised and was very nice and relatively spacious. The beds were very comfortable and the location was excellent. The host helped to coordinate a water taxi pickup for us from the train station (which was very helpful). The only small surprise for us was that we needed to coordinate with the garbage pick up which kept us tied to the house in the mornings until the garbage collectors came because you couldn't put your garbage outside and they couldn't come in if you aren't there. Otherwise the place was excellent.

This was a wonderful apartment for our family of 6 to stay in, right in the Centre on Venice. Beautifully furnished and maintained, we were very relaxed and enjoyed our holiday. The communication with Views on Venice was excellent.

The flat is very spacious with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. It has low wooden beam ceilings and the decoration is classical. It looks very much like on the photos.

Charming Apartment in S. Maurizio Sq
We received fantastic communication during the booking process from Australia for our stay at La Tana, we were a group of 5. Once arrived we were greeted by the fantastic Irene who helped us organise water taxi's, helped us when our friend was lost. She provided above and beyond customer service during our stay. The location of the apartment is fantastic close to ferry and taxi services. Also close to the action of bars, restaurants and shopping. The apartment was stylish and warmly decorated. The kitchen was fully equipped. It exceeded our expectations. We stayed in the accommodation for our wedding, the photographer met us at the apartment and got some great pics
Perhaps another couch in the living room, as there were 5 of us and not enough comfortable lounging area to stretch out and relax, when all together. Maybe swap the lounge room and dining area seating spaces.

Beautiful apartment in Venice
This apartment was in a great location for exploring Venice. The rooms were beautifully decorated and beds were comfortable. Irene, who met us at the boat dock was very helpful and informative. She gave us great suggestions and directions to all the fabulous places to visit. Definitely worth the money!

Lovely Venice
Beautiful property in a lovely little square just off the beaten path. This apartment is very nicely decorated with very nice bathrooms kitchen and living spaces. Very spacious and comfy, it would’ve been nice to have one more armchair in the sitting room, but we just pulled a chair from the dining room. The dining room and living areas have large windows that open into the quaint little square. It was delightful to have our morning coffee while enjoying the indoor outdoor feel of the room with the windows open.
The two draw backs were that you can only take one shower at a time and no running water in other parts of the flat while someone In showering either. Also the noise from the upstairs neighbors around 5:45 am for about a hr. was quite bad in the front two rooms and the front part of the flat. The master room is nice and quite.
You must be a little nosy and look in cupboards and closets, I was a little bummed out not having a freezer till my sister found a huge one in the hall closet 😊
All and all I highly recommend this property. The whole management team was incredibly helpful from beginning to end. I just can’t say enough about them 👍🏼

Wonderfully spacious and tasteful flat
I like the feel of the flat. It is beautifully decorated and furnished and the rooms are spacious, as is the entrance hall. I liked the colours and the calm. It is convenient to be in San Marco location too, near the Accademia bridge.
Nothing. Perhaps one more armchair in the living room.

Better than expected
We were there during the recent record breaking heat wave and the location and air conditioning was a life saver, especially traveling with my 88 year old mother. Great check-in and check-out. Thank you!
