About this cottage rental
Luxurious and comfortable, come and enjoy London from our house. With a village feel in the city, the location has easy transport links to London Underground or Railway Services. A tube or train will take you to central London in just 20 minutes!
The house dates back to the early 1900s and it's 'boomerang' layout and unique spiral staircase give it a special look and added space - great for kids and adults alike. It retains some original features, such as the fireplace. It is conveniently tucked away down Castelnau row footpath and is the biggest of 7 cottages, in this very calm spot. The house sleeps 5 adults comfortably.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything required to do some serious cooking if you're up for it! There is also a utility room with separate washer and dryer machines for laundry.
There are a couple of great cafes within 2 minutes walking distance of the house: Sips & Bites (Italian) and Spoonful (French). There is also a greengrocer and natural foods merchant on the same row of shops. I highly recommend PostBox Indian restaurant and The Bridge pub.
In Barnes village, there are many restaurants to choose from. Don't miss the Olympic Cafe and Cinema, and Rick Stein fish restaurant, a little further up in Sheen.
Barnes is a very coveted area in SW London, there is a large amount of nature accessible nearby - the river Thames (3 minutes walk), the Leg-O-Mutton nature reserve (3 minutes walk), Barnes Common and Barnes Pond (5 minutes bus ride) and the London Wetlands Centre (www.wwt.org.uk) a wetlands reserve for wildfowl and birds (5 minutes bus ride or 20 minutes walk). On the subject of nature, the house is only 15 minutes drive away from Royal Kew Gardens (www.kew.org), a must for any lover of plants!
For those looking to do shopping, the Wesfield shopping centre is just North of Hammersmith on the other side of the river Thames (www.westfield.com). There are also world famous museums located nearby in South Kensington: The Natural History Museum (www.nhm.ac.uk), The Science Museum (www.sciencemuseum.org.uk) and The Victoria and Albert Museum (www.vam.ac.uk).

It was exactly as posted for location. The hammersmith bridge was closed for traffic except for walking. So the tube is a 15 minute walk. The house was clean and kitchen well equipped. Beds were comfortable. Pub 2 minute walk and a few restaurants close by. I would stay there again.

A very spacious apartment in a great location. Just a short 20min walk to the Hammersmith tube station as well as lots of shops and eating places. Kitchen was well equipped and beds were very comfortable.

The flat was excellent and ticked all of our boxes!
1. Clean and well appointed. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed,
2. Excellent location. With Hammersmith Bridge closed to car/bus traffic, Barnes is a quaint and quiet enclave in busy London. Good access to Central London and Heathrow or Gatwick (we needed both) via public transit. Either a 15 minute walk or bus ride gets you to a station accessing the Tube or National Rail systems.
3. Great host. Farid answered all of our questions pre-arrival. The refrigerator was stocked with milk, juice, eggs and bread, which was a great and welcomed surprise. And for the couple of issues that arose (seems there is always something), Farid was quick to respond and resolved everything.
4. Easy check in/out.
A solid five-star stay!

Perfect location and comfortable flat with plenty of room.
Could have done with an extra fan for the spare room.

House was perfect for four people. Quiet neighborhood with a short ride into London. A number of pubs and restaurants within walking distance. Only thing needed is some outlets in the bathrooms.

Lovely house
Our family loved the location and we were very grateful to the owner for being so helpful.
Thank you

Everything was as expected and proclaimed.
It takes 15 minutes from there to the underground train (tube) as well as the locations you need as a tourist like restaurants/pubs and grocery stores. We had a short ride of 45 minutes from Heathrow to come to the house.
The house was clean and the things you need for living for a few days on its place. The breakfast we found in the refrigerator. Thank you very much.

The apartment was spacious and comfortable for our family of two adults and three teenagers. There were multiple bathrooms in the house which was convenient. The kitchen was well supplied for cooking meals. The location itself is quiet and quaint. It is about a 20 min walk over the bridge to the nearest underground station however from there you have access to four tube lines. We would recommend this location to anyone provided that they are willing to do a lot of walking. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Extremely well maintained flat in London. Near to Hammersmith tube station. Flat was clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. Owner was quick to respond and very helpful!

I loved staying here! The cottage is private, peaceful, very spacious by London standards, and the bed was very comfortable. It's only a 15 minute walk to the Tube station for the Picadilly, Hammersmith, District, and Circle lines, that will get you anywhere you need to go, including directly to/from Heathrow. Only a couple of minutes walk to the Thames Path, and Barnes Village is super cute, and very quiet for being so close to Central London. I spent a week there and found it to be perfect for my stay. Great communications with courteous owner, as well. Id definitely recommend this cottage, especially to American travelers, because housing is tiny compared to what we are used to, and this cottage was shockingly spacious!

What a great location for families and for anyone who wants a quite stay. Being so close to the Hammersmith bridge was perfect. I will definitely be coming back. The owner was always easy to contact which was very helpful.

Excellent location for walking, shopping and public transportation. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. The home was spacious enough for my wife and two teenagers. Everything we needed was provided. And the owner was in contact with us regarding our needs for a comfortable stay. We highly recommend this property.

Great stay, great property. Although the property is not in central London, getting there was a breeze by way of the Hammersmith underground station.

We stayed here for a week and were able to explore the city well from Farid's house. With our questions or problems, the host was always easy to reach and was able to help quickly. The house is in a quiet area. It's all a bit older, charming and well furnished.

This was the perfect location to catch the Tube into the City or a match at Craven Cottage. Living area was spacious and great for a family with teens. Would return in a heartbeat!

Hope to stay there again.

This property was located in great spot; easy to get to the tube to access all London has to offer. The property itself has everything you need and more. The laundry was a great feature and a full service kitchen. It’s a great space to come back to kick back and relax after a great day adventuring all London has to offer. The owner Farid was excellent at communication and very detailed information to locating the property; that made it easy to find! Thanks Farid!

The living area is lovely and overall it was a comfortable stay. The towels/linens could do with replacement and the place could use a nice dusting to remove cobwebs, but it was generally good.

Quiet neighborhood with some airplane traffic. Relatively large place for a family or group needing two bedrooms and bathrooms. Great communication with owner. Large kitchen with everything you need to cook. About a fifteen minute walk to the Hammersmith tube station and town. Unfortunately the master bedroom shower was not draining properly during our stay. Note that the two bedrooms are up a spiral staircase if that is an issue for anyone considering staying. Relative to other similar properties, we found this to be a good value for the area.

Arrived late on Cgristmas Eve after a challenging day of train travel to find an unbelievably spacious flat with food in the fridge for breakfast. Farid was very kind and responsive and we loved the neighborhood- just a short walk to the Thames, with markets and restaurants just around the corner. Couldn't have been a better stay. Thanks!

This was a real gem in a great spot in Barnes. It felt like a home away from home and we stayed here twice in our recent trip to London. Our host was the best and we will be recommending this place to all our friends. We will be back.

Farid was so helpful, warm and accommodating. We had a wonderful stay with our 3 year old and 10 month old. The travel crib was a little tricky to figure out, but we eventually got it.
The description of the location is super helpful fr Farid.
Thank you!!

We spent four nights at the property and enjoyed the location and accommodations. The hosts were responsive and kind. The location could not be beat. We wanted to be close to the city, but far enough away to feel like we are in a cozy neighborhood. We particularly enjoyed the cozy bed in the master bedroom. Thank you for a lovely start to our vacation!

Great weather and a great place. A bit far from London central but a quick 15 min walk to the Tube and you can go anywhere. A variety of shops just around the corner with multiple eating options. Location quiet except for the airplanes overhead but with the windows closed it’s not a problem. More room than I anticipated which made for a relaxing atmosphere with plenty of private space

We loved this place. There is plenty of room for a small group to sleep and a dining room table and living room where they can gather to eat, talk or play games. Its also a great spot to stay in London without being in the busy center of the city. Easily within walking distance to buses or the tube.

On our return trip to London, we stayed in this beautiful home. The space was simply amazing - much larger in person than the pictures give it credit. The host was also amazing - checking in with us during our stay to ensure all was well. The place can be a bit tricky to find, but the host gave us excellent directions that led us right to the property. DO NOT USE GOOGLE / APPLE MAPS! Rely on the information provided by the host and you can’t miss it. There are a few dining options near the property, and it’s a bit of a walk to the Undergound, but above ground transportation is near by and will easily get you around this side of London. We enjoyed our last few days in London, and being able to stay at this property definitely made our last few days more enjoyable.

The property is great and the location is really good. Property manager/owner is really good and responsive.

If you are looking for a large spot in a quiet location, this property fits the bill. We appreciated being out of the hustle and bustle of London, with about a 20 minute walk to the nearest tube station. The owner was very nice about letting us drop off our bags early. The rooms were light and bright and we appreciated the ability to do laundry before moving on to the next leg of our trip. The home does need some updating and shows some of it's age with broken bathroom tiles and bathroom mildew, cracked windows, older furniture, doors that don't lock and misc furniture stuck into corners. The price was much better than two hotel rooms, so ultimately we were happy here and slept well.

We had a great stay overall. The location is really wonderful there is plenty to walk to, good restaurants, and there are beautiful views along the river. The train station is a 10 min walk across the bridge which can feel long when you're walking home tired but generally wasn't a problem. The house is spacious and it was really nice having multiple toilets/bathrooms especially with kids. I will say the house is older and definitely is lacking some of the polished amenities of a newer or remodeled home. Nothing unsafe but some drainage issues with the shower, the appliances are old and a bit wonky. I would recommend this house only for older children or teens/adults with the narrow staircase and there is a lot of glass decorations around the house. The owners were super nice and understanding and easy to communicate with.

Beautiful apartment, Lovely neighborhood a few steps from the Thames. Close to the underground too. The host was very communicative and answered all our questions and responded very quickly.

Good location for the 4 of us - we watched the Jubilee flyover from Hammersmith Bridge and visited the London Wetlands Centre. The cottage was well provisioned with breakfast foods on arrival. Great to be able to entertain family and friends and we had everything we needed - a home from home. Farid was quick to respond and helpful. We would certainly stay again.

Really appreciated the groceries that were there to get us started. Very comfy bed - great nights sleep.
Be aware that one can’t wheel a suitcase down the path so avoid large or heavy luggage as you will have to carry it.
A few minor maintenance issues but they didn’t detract from our stay. The only reason I gave it 4/5 is because a family member appeared unannounced downstairs! I was shocked and Farid was upset it happened and agreed this was unacceptable. This person came to collect a parcel and was unaware we were staying but clearly has access. I doubt it will happen again.

We’ve all seen the pictures of properties that don’t quite meet expectations. With this property, what you see is what you get.
Well appointed and located near the Hammersmith Bridge, this home was perfect for our brief time in London. It is definitely one we recommend without hesitation.
Farid was excellent to deal with and everything was as promised.

The house is in a great location, near Hammersmith which will take you to central London in 20 min. Very well equipped and very good communication with the owner.

We arrived early on March 30th, hoping to get in on time at 2:00 as stated on website to rest after a long trip and we were met at the door by the housekeeper that said she would not be done till 4 or 4:30. That was difficult after a long trip.
When we got in, the downstairs bathroom was not working, there was a large TV on the floor between the dining room and livingroom and second sink in the kitchen had a leak and we could not use. On the second day, we had ants all over the kitchen counter and had to buy ant traps. Owner was notified of problems and seemed to want to fix the problems but took almost one week for everything to be resolved. I must say that he did have the house cleaner come in to clean mid stay of the 3 week stay for no charge which was a very nice gesture.
A list of details written out such as garbage night and other details with the house would have been nice.
Overall, nice location and nice place but definitely needs some attention.

Great location and very spacious flat!
We had an issue with the toilet but everything else was good!
