About this house rental
Beach front 3 bedroom3 1/2 bath luxury home located right on the Caribbean. At Magi Azul atmosphere is everything. Massive wood beams, stone floors and rock walls make this Moroccan/ Caribe Beach House a one -of-a-kind vacation experience. Inspired by old European sea side homes, Magi Azul offers laid back luxury with panoramic views of the Caribbean, enclosed Balinese style garden pool, gourmet kitchen and an indoor/outdoor living area. Close enough to town to walk but far enough to have your own private beach. Ocean views from every room. Perfect for a romantic get away or a family vacation.
Location: We are located right on the ocean just outside of town. We are far enough to have nice private beaches right out your door or you can walk to town 20-25 minutes or so and hit nearby restaurants or main beaches. The Caribe side of the island is ideal for snorkeling in the summer and on calm days all year because of it's many caves and reef formations.
Design: During the months of July and August sea turtles lay their eggs on our beach and can be watched at night from your patio. The island breezes make this side of the island virtually mosquito free. Designed by an interior designer and a writer, Magi Azul's emphasis is on creating an atmosphere for relaxation and contemplation. The Balinese patio pool area is designed to be a sunny private retreat from the wind. The rooftop palapa pavilion offers the ultimate in ocean views and vistas.
Ambiance: Moroccan and Caribbean influences combine to give Magi Azul an Old World flavor with an exotic edge. Stone floors, massive wood beams and hand-hewn rock walls make you feel you have stepped into another time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Maji Azul. Our housekeeper, Maxi, was outstanding! She cooked for us one evening and would bring special treats for us. She went out of her way to make sure our stay was perfect.
Note: The pool is on the west side of the building, the ocean is in the east side. It bothered me that I couldn’t watch the kids in the pool and look at the ocean, but I know that’s being picky. Everything else was amazing. All rooms have a large ocean view.

This was our second visit to Isla Mujeres, but first time staying at this incredible home. My family had a few items on our wish list for our stay: Privacy, ocean view, close to town, but quiet enough to feel like we were far away from the beach and all that the island has to offer.
Magi Azul has all of that and more.
From the moment we walked through the door, seeing the Balinese pool and privacy walls, we were in awe. As we moved around each corner, and climbed to the different floors of the home, we were in awe of every detail, the luxurious style of the home and the spectacular views.
Each large bedroom has its own luxurious bathroom, incredible views of the water and extremely comfortable beds.
My boyfriend and I woke every morning and sat on the master suite balcony watching the sunrise glisten over the water.. After going to the other side of the island for a few hours of tennis, we’d come back for a dip in the private pool before we set out for the day with our kids to the beach, or going into town for incredible lunches (Gin and Fish our top choice...by far).
The late afternoons on the beach outside of the home gave us warmth from the other side of the island where the sun would set, while searching and collecting unique ocean treasures.
Being right on the water was one of my personal highlights. Whether listening to the tide to put me to sleep, to waking to it in the morning and listening to the tide come in and out, I found myself at absolute peace. Lounging in the hammock on the third floor, with late afternoon sun-another treasure I’ll hold dear.
Maxi, our lovely housekeeper, was so wonderful, kind and friendly. Hugging her goodbye, I look forward to hopefully seeing her again.
Admittedly, it was an interesting, if not difficult time to be here, as it was at the same time that COVID-19 was spreading quickly throughout the world. We felt like we were in the safest place in the world being here, rather than the New York area. By the time we left, the island got quieter and quieter. It was a strange feeling for everyone. Tourists and locals.
Fortunately there were no cases on Isla as we left...and I hope that all of the beautiful people of the island stay safe and healthy.
Lastly. Staying here in this very special home made us feel extremely fortunate and blessed. We left with full hearts and much gratitude.
Until next time.

The home was truly extraordinary and the onsite team was lovely. The view from every room is absolutely gorgeous, and the kitchen is like nothing we've ever seen on the island, spectacular. There is really no amenity we wished for. We happened to be there during a lot of stormy days and the wind noise was inescapable - that isn't the fault of the home other than partly it's open architecture style, but worth noting if you're only expecting peace and quiet. We also would have liked a little more respite from the super sweet housekeeper, she was often present.

This was our 6th visit to Isla Mujeres & first time staying At Magi Azul. The house is in quieter than Playa Norte, & it’s just a short walk or golf cart ride to town. The ocean views are unprecedented & beach behind the house is amazing. We tried to buy beach chairs as there were none at the property, but we couldn’t find any. Maxi, the housekeeper is awesome (she made us a few meals that were fabulous)! Rooms are large & private, (great water pressure in showers). We enjoyed our week & recommend this property!

This house was amazing. Awesome views from all the bedrooms and rooftop patio area. We had a great time just hanging out at the house and the pool. Maxi the housekeeper is super sweet and an awesome cook. She prepared breakfast and dinner for us two nights. I would say some of the best food we had on the island was from the meals Maxi cooked for us. She really took care of us during our 5 days there and make the whole experience even better. The home is located in a great location with several restaurants nearby. We walked to the center/north side of the island a couple of times and was only a 15 minute walk. The big grocery store is also nearby; we walked there and took a cab back since we had several items. There is now a bus service on the island (buses are air conditioned) and we could get on right outside the house. This house is perfect for anyone that wants to relax because the area is pretty peaceful as opposed to all the hustle around north beach (the noise from the school across the street is minimal, usually we only heart the hustle and bustle of the kids getting to school in the morning). The sunrise views are amazing, and you can just sit on the balconies enjoying your morning coffee with the sound of waves in the background, I would defeintely come back and stay at this property if I return to Isla Mujeres.

We had a wonderful stay. The house was great for 3 couples. Very spacious and private yet provided great common space for socializing in the pool, kitchen and living room. Location was perfect. We rented golf carts which made it easy to get around. Views of the sea were great from each bedroom. It would have been nice to have the sea view from the ground floor.

Magi Azul lives up to the pictures! This house is amazing! Views are spectacular from every room. It is like no other home I have stayed in. Max, our housekeeper/phenomenal cook was so great. She prepared us breakfast one morning and dinner one evening and they were the best meals we had on the island! She made us guacamole and chips as we we unpacked our luggage on arrival and brought us fresh flowers for the tables during the week. Location is perfect. Far enough away from the hustle of Playa Norte but only a 10 minute ride in a golf cart. Would love to return!

The views are amazing! You will catch yourself returning to the balconies to take another look and another look and another look! House is very spacious, was perfect for our group of 6. Really enjoyed the separate bedroom/bathrooms, open air living room and of course the cool pool! Location was great, restaurants, bars and shopping were in close distance. Only a quick golf cart ride to almost everything. Would be nice to be able to use the 'garage' space as our golf cart was 'mysteriously' out of gas each morning. Otherwise great stay and we will definitely be back to Isla and Magi Azul!

The house location is perfect for people who want to be close, but not right in the thick of things. The pictures do no give the house justice awesome perfect for our three couples. Arrangements from airport, to ferry, to house, all taken care of plus we arrived early. Had 2 carts that we had rented for us waiting. Can be a little breezy on the west side but with the heat it is welcome. We sat on the beach out back on a couple of days awesome and very quiet. Great neighbors btw. Max was there everyday to clean and the day we pulled up from going to get groceries she immediately headed to the cart to help carry things in. House is fully stocked you do not need anything. Armin the property manager is awesome, when you need him he is there. And when you REALLY need a local contact he was there to handle it. Muchas gracias de nuevo mi amigo. We will meet again ny friend. The group was already talking on when we will come back and would come back to the property in a heart beat.

We have been coming to the Cancun region for over 10 years and virtually all have included a day trip to Isla. We’ve always talked about staying on the island and made that a reality this year when I found Magi Azul. The trip consisted of my wife and I with two other couples and it was important to find a home with 3 full bedrooms/baths, which this has. The home is simply beautiful and we had an incredible time on our 9 night vacation. The pool is on the street side of the house just as you enter the home, leaving all of the suite balconies facing the beautiful ocean. Once in the pool it is rather amazing how secluded you feel based on the tall walls of the home. The actual location of the home was very idea as well. While there are a handful of restaurants within walking distance, you truly need to have a golf cart for your stay to enjoy and explore the entire island. In a cart we were less than 5 minutes from the big grocery store and restaurants near the colonias neighborhoods and we were only about 5 minutes or so to get to downtown Isla. Armin set up our golf carts before we arrived and met us at the house and checked in with us daily. He was so much help and we texted often during the trip, as he is so knowledgeable about everything Isla. Armin also turned us on to the local food in the middle of the island and never dissapointed there. The best taco night we had was at Taqueria Tonichos and our last meal was at Bastos Grill (lime soup is a must). We had our housekeeper come in 4 different mornings to make us breakfast and all was fabulous with homemade tortillas and the works. She was incredible and we already miss them both. They were so gracious and took good care of us. We paid a flat fee for her to do each breakfast and then paid whatever the food cost so it varied a bit each time but was pretty much $7-8 or so per person.
There are some beautiful homes on the island as you drive around, but I would come back to Magi Azul tomorrow. It just simply has some very unique and beautiful design and construction. Sherry was also fabulous from the moment I inquired about the property to the moment we left. Very responsive and awesome to deal with. Please enjoy if you choose this home for an island getaway!

A party of six of us rented this house last month and it was such an amazing place. As others have pointed out, the pictures do not do it justice! Every single aspect was just impeccable -- the pool, the furniture, the kitchen, the multiple patios, etc. My boyfriend and I had the master bedroom on the main floor and it was heavenly. We were shown how to operate the AC but how can you use AC when you have huge doors to open with a sea breeze and the sound of waves? The bathroom was large and had a wonderful sunken tub. The main living area was perfect too and where we spent most of our time. The furniture was amazingly comfortable -- anywhere else I've ever stayed in Mexico had very hard furniture which would become uncomfortable after a short while. Not here -- we could sit for hours, listening to music, dipping in the pool, and enjoying some cocktails. The pool was a LITTLE chilly but definitely not too chilly for everyone to enjoy, especially after a day in the sun.
The kitchen had every appliance once could need plus a large table to dine. We cooked a few meals here and found everything we needed. The upper bedrooms are also beautifully designed with their own patio overlooking the Cancun bay. The rooftop is amazing with the hammock pavilion and the rooftop seating that offers you panoramic views of the island. The house sits on its own little private beach, which can be a bit rocky, but great if you just want to wade in the water or just sit in the sand.
The house is situated on the airport strip side, about halfway between the island. It's a short walk to a local neighborhood with some amazing food and a little market, and it's not too bad of a walk to Centro (about 30 minutes, but there is a boardwalk area not far from the house that makes the walk much more pleasant). We rented a golf cart, which was great for getting around the island doing bigger grocery store runs.
Sherry and Stan have crafted an amazing, top-of-the-line home that exceeded our expectations. We hope to return again!

We stayed at this beautiful location for our honeymoon. It was a perfect secluded location right on the beach. We have spent the last year traveling and this place is by far the best we've stayed in. It's location to the local nightlife is perfect. It's an easy ride from the fairy to the island. We were able to rent a golf cart with ease and shop the markets to cook our own meals. The pool is an added bonus. We were also able to get personal massages on the rooftop; a recommended experience. We highly recommend staying at this home when traveling to Isla Mujeres. Show up, relax, enjoy the view.

We have been coming to isla mujeres for many years and Magi Azul is one of the best places we have stayed. The location is perfect and the home is spectacular! You will love the ocean front balconies in every room. The pool is perfect for relaxing! The home is just beautiful! We really enjoyed the poolside open air living area and the convenience of an air conditioned, fully equipped kitchen. The manager and his wife are terrific - they made sure we all saw the sea turtles every night. It was a highlight of our trip! I would highly recommend this property - you will love it!

This was our 2nd time to spend a week on Isla. We were 3 couples so the house was a perfect fit. Everyone loved the house, pool and privacy. We had stayed at another house a couple of years ago which was nice, but after staying at Magi Azul, my friends don't want to stay anywhere else. Armin & his wife were very nice and the house was cleaned thoroughly. We love the central location of the house as well. We rented golf carts for the week so we could come & go at anytime. Only took a few minutes to go into Centro, the new grocery store, etc.
Everything I've read on the other reviews is true so I won't repeat it all. Looking forward to planning another trip to Isla & staying at Magi Azul.

My partner and I stayed at the beach house for 4 nights. It was recommended to us by a friend who stayed there earlier in the year. It was absolutely amazing. The photos do not do the place justice. We had such a great time, were able to cook dinner (they have all utensils needed) have a drink up on the rooftop and laze around in the plunge pool. It's the perfect place to relax. Can't wait to return to Magi Azul and we can't recommend it highly enough!

My husband and I celebrated our 20th Anniversary at Magi Azul. The house is a dream for the open air, sea-loving couple that we are. Here you can go to sleep and wake up with the sight and sounds of the ocean waves right outside of your window! The view is breathtaking!! This home is built as close to the ocean as is legally allowed. My dream come true!! The Terrazzo suite is huge and offers grand views of the Caribbean. There is plenty of storage for your personal belongings and clothing. The bed is lovely with luxury linens and so comfortable. This main level Master is huge. The detail throughout the house is amazing. The Balinese style pool off of the living room is unbelievable and offered a private place for a refreshing dip anytime of the day or night. There's just something about walking into your home and seeing that pool there! Stan and Sherry thought of everything when they built this home! It is extremely clean and well maintained. The kitchen is wonderful and so fun with large upscale commercial appliances and cooking/preparation area. We had tons of fun shopping for fresh ingredients to make guacamole. My husband loves to cook so he prepared omelets, scrambled eggs, and magnificent Mexican coffee most days for breakfast! Make sure you visit the Mango Café at least once for breakfast...delicious!! We felt very secure knowing that Armin was just a phone call away if we needed anything. We had in-room massages one night with the symphony of the ocean as our playlist. Phenomenal. It is just a short drive to town(el centro), where you have your choice of a great variety of restaurants and outdoor cafes and shopping as well as the beach of course...which by the way, is in your backyard ;). (This beach is extremely private. We only saw a few local children walk by once and we were there a week). You can easily catch a cab right outside the front door. We had the time of our lives, rented a golf cart, (Mopeds next time cause they're faster lol!) enjoyed the sweet local people, did some snorkeling, and went swimming with the whale sharks. Our whale shark excursion was fabulous!!! We felt incredibly safe here at the house as well as anywhere we went on the Island. With all that the Island has to offer, we found ourselves saying, "we could just stay here at the house and be perfectly content!!" This home is perfect, we recommend it highly and cannot wait to come back. This is definitely our "go to" choice for a lovely vacation!!

We spent a lovely week at Magi Azul and can't say enough good things about it. The owners were more than helpful in setting up our reservation - as well as transportation to the ferry both to and from the airport.
The house is beautiful - the bedrooms are all large, the beds are comfortable, the pool is spectacular and the kitchen is amazing. The house staff keeps the place immaculate and they are friendly and happy to answer any questions you might have.
The rooftop decks allow you views of the entire island - but you have to be very careful as railings are minimal (Having 3 small children with us we were extra careful!) It was wonderful watching the frigate birds and pelicans fly by us at eye level while we were up there.
While I saw other reviewers complain about the pool temperature - we found it to be perfectly fine - especially during the heat of the day. You can hear traffic from the house - but between the pool fountains and the ocean waves the traffic just blends into the background and wasn't a concern.
The beach out front is very pretty but rocky and the water is rough. No worries - North Beach is just a few minutes away for better swimming and taxis are easy to come by if you choose.
I would suggest that if you are traveling with small children you might want to bring a baby monitor with you. Two of the three bedrooms are upstairs via an outside staircase. We were uncomfortable staying in the master suite downstairs while our kids were upstairs as we were afraid we wouldn't hear them. Had I asked more questions of the owner beforehand we would have planned accordingly.
Also - the house is most definitely open to the outside. At sunset the geckos appear on the living room ceiling to eat bugs. My kids loved it and the geckos are completely harmless - but if you are squeamish, beware. (We never saw them during the day!)
This is our 2nd trip to Isla Mujeres and I already cannot wait to come back. We have yet to have a bad meal anywhere on the island. The vibe is very laid back and the beaches are stunning.
Would I stay Magi Azul again? Most definitely!

Casa MagiAzul is situated in a perfect place on the island of Isla Mujeres. The ocean is just yards away from the house and affords plenty of privacy and quiet. Every detail in the house has been thoughtfully executed - from the chandeliers to the perfect white sheets to the magnificent pool. We were greeted cheerfully upon our arrival by the caretakers who continued to maintain the space keeping it spotless and at the same time being mindful of our privacy. We were able to walk to the markets when we chose to take advantage of the wonderful kitchen or, comfortably walk to restaurants. We have been to Isla Mujeres and Tulum several times previously, but we most fondly appreciated our visit to Magi Azul - it afforded us everything we wanted from an island vacation and we look forward to returning in the future! Thank You!

Photos cannot convey the true beauty and incredible ocean-front setting of this home. The tasteful old world finishes create a stunning atmosphere and we were especially grateful for the very comfortable beds. We went to sleep to the sound of the ocean every night.....heaven! I don't think any one bedroom is better than the other in this home as they all have terrific ocean views. The outdoor livingroom by the Maharani and Loft Suites was a nice quiet spot to sit and check email and the rooftop patio was another great place to sit in the evening to enjoy panoramic vistas. Overall we had a fantastic time and could not have been happier with Magiazul and the caretakers. Thank you, Sherry, for allowing us to create lasting holiday memories in your gorgeous home! Cheers!

The house is beautifully done, both architecturally and decoratively. Very functional and easy to use. Spectacular view from every floor and every bedroom. Just far enough from town to ensure privacy and quietness, but close enough to walk if you want. The kitchen is better than any i have ever seen in Mexico. Incredible refrigerator/freezer, great commercial grade stove, all tastefully done. Pots, pans and all the utensils you could need. Every room is self contained with fridge and microwave, security safe and very rooms. In fact, the bedrooms are huge. If you want to sit on your bed, or on your patio and watch the stars and moon over the Caribbean, this is the place. Hammocks under the palapa roof on the top floor are wonderful. The pool's lighting and waterfall effect create the perfect atmosphere in the open living room. Owners were easy to work with and quick to respond to questions. This place is both comfortable and luxurious at the same time. The maid service was impeccable and what we saw on the internet was what we got............and then some.
