We recently stayed at this charming, rustic cabin on the lake and had a wonderful time. The location is perfect, offering serene lake views and a fantastic beach area. The provided kayaks were a hit with the whole family, allowing us to explore the lake at our leisure.
The cabin itself has a quaint, rustic charm. While it's not luxurious, it has all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was well-equipped, making it easy to prepare meals, and the living area was cozy for relaxing evenings.
However, there were a few downsides. We encountered carpenter ants and even had a mouse in the house, which was a bit unsettling. Additionally, the shower is quite small, which might be inconvenient for some guests.
Overall, if you're looking for a peaceful retreat with a rustic feel and great outdoor activities, this cabin is a solid choice. Just be prepared for a few wildlife encounters and a compact shower space.

Cozy oasis. Shower very tiny, but screened-in porch and cottage were perfect for a couple. The location & loons were magical. Cottage stocked bare minimums, but that just made us enjoy life more simply and focus on the nature & surroundings & our own quiet retreat. Thank you for sharing your sweet, rustic place.

Private, comfy, clean, air conditioned, quiet, relaxing and overlooking the lake. We loved it, and our experience!

Great location, had everything you need, the back screened in porch was wonderful, so was the firepit. Great for families with small kids. Would rent again.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It was clean, well stocked and maintained, and pet friendly (so we could bring our Corgi and Scotty). Even though it rained a lot during our stay, we could sit on the screened porch and listen to the rain, which was very soothing and kept the blood thirsty mosquitoes at bay. The only issue we had was that our party included several folks with mobility problems (no one's getting any younger), and getting down to the lake by the two sets of stairs was a challenge. We still had a great time, and now I know to ask how accessible things are before I book a stay.

Overall we have a wonderful time at Paradox Lake. The lake and beach area were very clean and peaceful. The kids enjoyed swimming and use of the kayaks and paddle boat. The house was rustic but nice, we loved the screened porch to eat and play games on. We loved the private firepit. The owners were very responsive, we had some issues related to the weather. The cleanliness of the house could have been a bit better, we found drink containers that were from previous renters and there was no refills for the swifter to clean up the floor. We lost power the last night(again weather related) and our neighboring cottage turned on a generator which was very loud and disruptive.

The cabin sits on a beautiful piece of land above Paradox Lake. The screen room (with fresh air) was our savior as the cabin has a very moldy/toxic smell going on. Coming from the bathroom area, water damage around toilet area. Hopefully not black mold but something yucky going on. We stayed because we we were just to tired to move. Hopefully the cabin gets the attention it need’s furniture was dirty too I had brought blankets to cover couches just in case & I used them. Melissa seems to be a nice person but we work hard for our money and just expected more.

Very nice cabin, well appointed with everything you need! Just show up and relax!

Loved the setting, swimming and boating on the lake, eating on the screened in porch, the fire pit and grill. Liked less the 76 steps to the beach, no blankets in the second bedroom, tv is small but availability of channels and reception was very good. Beds were comfy. Directions for tv and stove oven would be nice to have. Kitchen was well equipped for the most part. This home is NOT accessible to anyone with any physical disability. Living room rug while interesting is old and a trip hazard with seriously frayed edges. Bought and donated an extension cord to use with my water pic as bathroom plug too far away. Couches and some pillows need refreshing as they are mildewed. Owner very nice and helpful. Thank you for making your home available for our vaca.

Great spot to be. Enjoyed a paddle through the Narrows and hiking over by Ticonderoga. Cabin had everything you needed.

Beautiful little cabin with a perfect location. Our family and two dogs had a blast kayaking and swimming off the docks. The house was super clean and welcoming. We loved that the property was located close enough to the town on Schroon Lake with a short drive to Lake George while enjoying the less crowded and more private lake. If you’re an outdoorsy family this rental is for you.

We love Juniper Cabin so much, this was our second stay and will not be our last. The cabin is 100% Adirondack through and through, with rustic yet comfortable touches. Well appointed so you can cook all meals and stay without having to leave. The large screened in porch overlooking the lake was our favorite spot. The spacious yard and large fire pit is the best place to sit, relax and listen to the gorgeous calls of loons at night. We also love relaxing on the dock by the water, taking the kayaks out and swimming. Water is clean and clear. Melissa is a wonderful host. Super responsive and accommodating.

We absolutely loved everything about this property! The cabin was perfect & the lake was beautiful. We loved how the cabin sat in a wooded area and was just steps to the water. The screened in porch and out by the fire were our favorite places to be. We spent hours jumping off the floating dock & kayaking. Thank you for sharing your cabin, it was a wonderful vacation!

This cabin was perfect for our first official family vacation with our 4 month old. A travel crib was available which was much appreciated. Melissa was incredibly responsive and generous - she made sure to get a coffee grinder when I asked if one was available. The screened in porch is a perfect place to eat dinner, watch the sun set and let in the cool air blowing in over the lake. A note of caution: critters (chipmunks, at least) WILL get into both the front and back screened porches. Be mindful of where you place food that might entice them. The lake is inviting and has a nice deck to sit on and floating dock to swim to and enjoy the sun/view. Overall this was a great experience!

We had a great stay at the Juniper. The house was clean and comfy. loved the beach area and dock to swim. water was clean and refreshing. The outdoor fireplace was huge and free wood was an added bonus. Caught bass, perch and sun fish right off the shore and loved the canoe and kayaks. Met Melissa the second to last day - she was very nice. Thanks for a perfect summer vacation!!

Relaxing with great waterfront!
Awesome stay with our two kids and pooch. We brought our paddle boards but also took advantage of the kayaks and awesome canoe provided. Peeping dates for next year already!

Great family trip!
My kids really enjoyed to closeness of the lake. The gas fireplace rattled with every step you took inside the small, intimate cabin. We all had to walk really softly and slowly so as not to wake people or make a lot of clanging rattling noise with every step. Otherwise, the cabin was clean and a nice experience. The lake was a huge delight for the kids who swam for many hours every day.

Adirondack experience
The property was a perfect Adirondack experience from the boats to the cabin. Beds were very comfortable from the pillows to the cozy quilts. Eating outside in the screened in porch overlooking the lake each night.

The property was just what we needed.
The cabin was perfect for a short getaway. We explored nearby Ticonderoga and got out on paradox lake with the kayaks provided. Our little one took advantage of the swingset and sandbox. The owner provided plenty of great info and was easy to talk with. We had humming birds nesting nearby in early June which was an unexpected treat. The loons put on a wonderful show of calls each night. I'll be looking to stay again soon.

We wanted to stay close to Ticonderoga to see George Takei and this cabin was perfect. Paradox Lake is beautiful and conveninent. The cottage is classic Adirondack, has a great view, was clean, had lovely touches like exterior potted plants and is in a quaint group of cottages. Highly recommend.

Juniper, “Green” Cottage Never Disappoints
We’re repeat guests and plan to return. Melissa’s Juniper cottage is simple, cozy, and suits us perfectly. We love the screen porch which gives us a perfect sunset through the trees. The mattresses are heavenly and the cottage is always clean and tidy. Melissa is also very responsive if anything is needed. (Thank you for the blender and for the super fast light repair!) We don’t mind the steep stairs to the beautiful lakeside beach and deck. It’s worth it for the crystal clear lake water. We’ve always found the other guests to be super friendly about sharing the kayaks. See you next year.
