Villa Nirvana was a home away from home experience. Located in a safe, quiet and serene Black Rock area. Close to Stonehaven Bay and Mt. Irvine. Enjoyed dinner at Waves and hanging out with friends at Anchor Bar & Grill. Sorry our stay was so short but we will be back soon. Frank, the owner, was very helpful and responded to our concerns promptly. His suggestions for car rental, things to do and places to go for seniors were much appreciated. We truly appreciated his allowing us to check in early as we arrived on the early morning flight.
Fully equipped with everything one needs in a home to be comfortable (kitchen, bathroom supplies more than adequate)...just as described on VRBO...what you see if what you get Refreshing, relaxing and therapeutic view of the sea from the back porch. Spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, comfortable beds.
Both the housekeeper (Pearl..who came out on her off day) and the gardener/handyman (Martin)were quite responsive to our requests.

Villa Nirvana is perfectly situated near Stonehaven beach and close to top restaurants The Seahorse and Fish Pot. The villa has everything and more for an incredibly relaxing stay. Kitchen has everything, beds are comfortable, plenty of bathrooms and a plunge pool. Pearl the housekeeper was wonderful and man of business Martin got us a few essential bits for when we arrived. I am already looking to return and can’t imagine anywhere better to stay. Thank you Frank and for checking up on us during our holiday!

Frank is so wonderful. He was so responsive to our needs. My family and I loved the house. Everyone had their own room with AC and fan and wonderful view of the Buccoo Bay. We loved to eat breakfast and lunch on the table on the back patio and also swim in the plunge pool. The video and photos that Frank shares on VRBO is exactly how it is in person. We walked down the large hill to eat at wonderful restaurants...the Reef and also the Sea Horse. We went to the supermarket and also the vegetable/fruit stand. The house was clean and had all of the kitchen supplies, towels and sheet that we needed. We loved our long weekend in Tobago and will certainly be back. Thank you again Frank!

We had a fabulous time staying at the villa, we hired a car (which I would recommend as the bus service is somewhat unpredictable) and we were able to explore the whole island.Frank was wonderful and helpful in assisting us during the booking process, arranging airport transport, a driver called Alicia, who also VERY kindly also helped us shop so that when we arrived in the early hours we had basic supplies. Both Frank and Alicia were helpful throughout our stay and offered help or advice when required. There are some fantastic places to eat within walking distance of the property. Would definitely stay here again.Thank you very much for letting us stay, we have truly had a holiday of a lifetime

Good value & location.
Excellent sunset views over the reef with a yard that stretches toward the sea. Great location just above Stonehaven bay makes for a short walk to the beach with a few places to get a drink & bite to eat, as well as shop. Everything you could need to either relax at the villa or go out & explore the awesomeness of Tobago.

Quiet & close to the action for a great home base!
We stayed two weeks in this cozy villa and really appreciated the great location, quiet neighbourhood and specious living quarters. Frank was easy to reach and helpful with all requests.
The villa had a good layout with everything we needed. We had breakfast on the patio each day and had steady visits from various birds (feeding them helped!). We often had an evening sunset from the pool. We used the plunge pool every day to cool off after hiking, time at the beach or other excursions. We cooked meals at the villa using the BBQ and stove top and found all the dishes and utensils we needed. Loved the fruit/veggie stand at the end of the street and made daily visits to pick up fresh produce. Air conditioning cooled the bedrooms at night and overall the villa stayed cool from ceiling fans. We really appreciated the alarm system in the house which gave us piece of mind. We used the wifi and found the service was good - enough to watch Netflix on our laptop. In addition, we were able to watch ESPN on the TV and keep up to date on sports as well as news of world events. We appreciated our house keeper Pearl who gave us fresh linens, changed the beds and various other welcome touches during our stay.
We started out with some trepidation about the vacant unfinished hotel down the street...but soon realized there was full time security on site 24 hours. We went over and met the security staff and had a bit of a tour...we found the hotel was so fascinating.
We had a car which allowed us to travel the whole island and this reinforced what a perfect location we had at this villa. We visited nearly every major beach and found we enjoyed Stonehaven for swimming, Mount Irvine for snorkelling and Pigeon Point for sand and amenities. We had many dining and take out food options close by ranging from fast food to fine dining.
Some aspects of the villa need a bit of updating, but we realize this is an island and many conveniences are not as easy to modernize. We came to Tobago to experience a new culture, be in a low tourist area surrounded by an authentic community experience and relax on great beaches/hike through a rain forest, etc. We had an incredible time that we will not forget. The people of Tobago were very friendly and welcoming! Thanks Frank for helping make this such a memorable trip. J&J Hunt - Canada

Wonderful three weeks
We had a wonderful three weeks at Villa Nirvana. We had quite a bit of contact with Frank before we arrived but we were delighted to receive a phone call from him on our arrival to make sure everything was OK. He is a very "hands on" owner who deals with every equity promptly and courteously.
The rooms are clean and spacious and the pool is great on a hot day!
If I had any slight criticism, it would be that some of the equipment, such as the dishwasher and oven, could do with updating and a couple of extra sun beds for lazy villa days would be perfect. However, we managed perfectly well! The villa is well stocked with cutlery, china and cooking pans.
We would utterly recommend this villa and the owner (and Tobago too!)

Beautiful Villa in Paradise!
My friends and I stayed in the villa over New Years Eve. The villa is conveniently located (20 mins from the Airport, 30 mins from Scarborough). We were able to drive around the island and visited the pretty beaches and scenic fort lookouts. I particularly liked the view from the covered porch, and was able to see many species of birds while having breakfast. Frank was an amazing host, and worked hard to ensure everything is ready for us. Our housekeeper, Pearl was kind and efficient. I couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate the beginning of 2017. Thank you Frank and Yolande for the use of your lovely villa!

Great Villa experience
I had looked at this villa several times before and it was not available. Knowing that I would want to attend jazz, I checked early and was ecstatic to learn that it was available.
No wonder, it is hardly ever available ! My experience from booking up to my departure was exceptional. These owners understand hospitality.
The owners are a pleasure to work with - they are concerned about your comfort and will go above and beyond to ensure that you are happy and comfortable.
My car stopped working the day before my return and the owners made sure to contact their on site manager throughout the day to ensure I was taken care of. On my return, they checked to see that I was ok.
A villa is always a good alternative to a hotel room. If a villa that operates like a hotel is what you want, then Villa Nirvana is the place for you.
We dined out and cooked at the villa. Great restaurants are easily accessible and if you wish to cook, the kitchen is well equipped.
Restaurants such as The Fish Pot, Seahorse and others are just down the hill. If you want directions to where to get the freshest fish, just ask the owners.
The owners are a charm, the villa is spotless, all amenities you will need are available, , the view from Villa Nirvana is one you will want to wake up to every morning.

My stay was very relaxing and comfortable
one thing though. I the directions was a bit off I think, maybe you can put in after you pass Mt. Ervin Beach then look for Pizza boys and also if you can get the road paved. Other than that the place is beautiful and we had a fun time. thank you

Wonderful Stay
My family and I (a group of 7 people total) stayed at Villa Nirvana enjoyed our 3 night stay at Villa Nirvana greatly! The property is beautiful and the owner is very hospitable and offered helpful suggestions to make our visit to Tobago even better. There is a small hut at the bottom of the hill that is only open for dinner and we had a great meal there for a very reasonable price.
We would definitely stay at Villa Nirvana again should we go back to Tobago!

A Birdwatchers Paradise
This property was beautiful. It was very neat and clean. We were able to sit outside and watch birds come to our deck. The owner had literature in the home to help us find things to do around the island. The neighbors were very cordial and helped us find markets and beaches. We were very blessed to have found such an ideal rental at a great rate. I look forward to coming again and enjoying the many things your island has to offer. Thank you Frank and Yolanda. Sincerely, Deb

Money well spent.
What you see is what you get. My husband, our 3 girls(ages 3,5 & 7) and myself decided to spend Christmas 2015 at the villa. And I must say we had a great time.
Starting with the pro's.
-Peaceful, private, relaxing, spacious, clean, well maintained, comfortable, great scenery. Great layout.
-Mr. Chai was very helpful and accommodating. He sent us directions and instructions which assisted us tremendously in getting settled.
The housekeeper was very courteous, and the guy (sorry cant remember his name) who collects the garbage and cleans the pool was very helpful and friendly.
They all made us feel truly welcomed.
-There were many beaches in close proximity, we chose Mt Irvine. The girls played in the pool almost everyday as it was well suited for the young and old. We were surprised to see the board games in the cupboard of one of the bathrooms.
We played CLASSIC monopoly :). It was truly nostalgic. I even feel to bring a game to add to the collection on our next visit. :)
There were novels for those who love to read novels.
It was nice to read a few guest reviews in the guestbook at the villa. Seeing all those families who visited and who also had a wonderful time made me feel like I was part of a great experience, hard to explain...
-We used the stove oven and refrigerator, even the stereo and TV.All worked well. The kitchen utensils provided were adequate, most things where provided, like towels, toilet paper, mats, hand wash, dishwashing liquid, stuff to clean floors etc. No bath soap, so we had to run to the store to buy some.
Some con's but nothing to spoil our stay.
-slow internet, so streaming movies etc was a little difficult even using skype.
-didnt use the bbq pit at all, it seemed to be rusting.(however I didnt check fully)
-no pantry ,all food had to be stored in the fridge.(yes we carried groceries :)
-tv doesnt have the ports to support games consoles, like the wifi and to stream party games.
as I said these things are all minor and DID NOT affect our stay. We truly enjoyed the peaceful ,breezy ambiance and views. Also the design and decor of the house.
I would like to thank Mr. & Mrs. Chai for our stay. My 5 year old said to tell you thank you for letting us use your house. Till our next visit, continue to do what your doing. I have already recommended the villa to my mother and sister.
Thanks again...

Tranquility of tobago villa nirvana
The road to the villa is totally deceiving about the place but when you enter villa nirvana you feel like you are in tobago, total tranquility.
The villa was well kept, clean all amenities provided, linens, dishes etc. every thing as seen in the video ,the photos cannot represent the serenity of the place. We totally loved the wild life and the sunset. Mr frank was most accommodating who called to make sure everything was ok with us and had good advice about tobago. The only recommendation to be made is that some chest of draws to be provided in the rooms for clothes. I would most definitely come back to this villa and have already recommended it to friends and family. Beautiful place, quiet, relaxing and peaceful.

Great place to stay in Tobago for groups/families!
My wife and I stayed here with a team of 5 students while we were helping with community church/service work in Tobago. The location allowed us to be near the beach, but at the same time close enough to travel to the more populated area where the church was located. Having A/C in the bedrooms was amazing, and everything in the house worked perfectly. Frank was easy to work with and worked with us to get us our keys while we were still in Trinidad. If I come back to Tobago with family members or other teams, I hope to stay here again.

I have visited Villa Nirvana twice, the first time in 2003 and then in 2008. Five years passed and on arriving at the villa the second time, nothing had changed.
The place is spotlessly clean and facilities are second to none. The barbecue comes into its own as the fishermen land their catch around 3pm on a nearby sea wall. Local vegetables and fruits and caribbean spices are all available within a mile. The tranquility of a home-cooked feast watching the sun go down over the reef is something to remember. Although the villa is situated on a development, it is notably quiet with no disturbance from neighbours.
It can get quite humid on this side of the island, so the air-con in all bedrooms, ceiling fans in the living room, and the laundry facilities are very welcome. The only annoyance at the villa is the mosquitos, so body spray insecticide is a must for late evenings on the veranda.
We stumbled across Nirvana on the internet. We called Frank -- a laid back, genuine guy who wants your stay to be the best it can be. On arriving, the place lived up to is description. Excellent.
You do need a car when you're at Nirvana. Hiring one is pocket change though, and so is petrol. The roads are, well, entertaining, especially when touring the more rural parts of the island. It's well worth a drive through the rain forest and visiting Charlotteville.
The locals are friendly and appreciate holiday trade unlike some destinations.
For good food I'd recommend Me Shells (silly name but fantastic food though quite pricey), Bonkers (for a no-frills lunch with good surroundings). There's a fish restaurant at the bottom of the hill, again, no frills, but good food and drink, run by an irish couple who won't let you leave sober. And if you're homesick for an English breakfast, the Hilton hotel does a good one!
If you're after a tranquil holiday with a superb base, Villa Nirvana and Tobago are hard to beat.

Staying at Villa Nirvana is much more than the perfect vacation away from home. The villa is well equiped with all necessary amenities. It is very clean and tidy and well kept. The private rooms are spacious with comfortable beds and ensuite bathrooms. Each room provides a spectacular view of the ocean and Buccoo Reef. The plunge pool is just a step out from the main level bedroom and living/family room and is a great for the whole family (any ages) to sit around and relax.
We have stayed at Villa Nirvana on several occassions and always felt safe in this secured environment.
We highly recommend taking a vacation at Villa Nirvana in Tobago.

In Feb. 2008 I stayed at Villa Nirvana with 5 of my closest friends. We had a wonderful time! The villa is beautifully decorated and furnished. We love to cook and we found everything we needed and more in the well equipped kitchen and of course the bbq-grill was used many times.
The cleaning service was impecable and the owners of this villa are an extremely friendly and accommodating local couple who gave us many suggestions for places to dine, activities on the island, all provided in their well designed handbook found in the villa.
I highly recommend this villa. In fact I have already booked 2 weeks in Feb. 2009 to stay here and share this special place with more friends and family.
Cheers,
Nicola
