About this cottage rental
Enjoy lots of peace and quiet at this adorable cottage just a literal stone’s throw from the shore! Located on peaceful and picturesque Berry Cove, which is just west of Frenchman's Bay, you’ll enjoy wonderful views of Mt. Desert island. The view is to the southwest over the bay and provides warm afternoon sunshine with sunsets over Old Point. The perfect place for the couple looking for a real Maine summer vacation spot to return to year after year! 16 miles to Acadia National Park yet away from the island traffic.

Important: No EV charger station available and using Cottage AC outlet is prohibited due to power restrictions at site.

The Studio was originally built in the early 1960s, but has seen some thoughtful renovations with many modern conveniences including a full renovation in 2020. Open floor plan with sitting area and kitchen, and separate Bedroom with queen bed. Full Bathroom with shower only. Hi Speed WiFi, of course! No cable TV but there is a TV and DVD player.
There are so many tourist attractions in the area it would be impossible to name them all. Enjoy all the amenities of nearby Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor with just a 25 minute drive (approximately 3 miles away by water). Northeast and Southwest Harbor and Blue Hill are all close by.. The main commercial area is Ellsworth (15 minutes drive) with everything you could ever need. There are numerous music festivals throughout the summer, excellent restaurants, and even a cinema for rainy days. Fun attractions include several scenic flight and whale watch companies, professional kayak tours, logging shows, outstanding golf courses as well as miniature golf, and much more. Blunt's Pond is a beautiful and clean spring-fed swimming pond about a 12 minute easy walk on the woods path and of course you can brave the Atlantic on the shore. Lamoine Beach is a couple miles down the road as is the Lamoine State Park.
Our wonderful compound which has been in our family for generations is located on the east end of Berry's Cove with great views of Frenchman’s Bay and Mt. Desert Island along with direct access to the shore across the front lawn. With a southwest exposure, you’ll love the bright sunny days and gorgeous sunsets. You’ll be surrounded by lots of wonderful wildlife, including eagles, loons, herons, and many other sea and shore birds.
Minimum rental is 4 days.

Lobsters are available just a few minutes back up the road and Dave Herrick will cook them for you. Just call and they will be ready when you arrive. We ask guests not to cook shellfish in the cottage as it usually boils over and gets into the stove which then has to be dismantled and cleaned. No one wants to sleep in a room with old smelly lobster odor. We do have a outdoor boiler ring and cooker on demand for those who want to cook their own.

My husband and I loved staying at The Studio. The Cottage was charming, had a beautiful view of the water, and was clean and well stocked with everything we might need. Our hosts were helpful and knowledgeable. We loved our morning coffee on the porch overlooking the water, listening to the many birds nearby. We saw Bald Eagles, Osprey, Gulls and Loons in addition to many song birds. Sunsets were spectacular and the full moon over the cove was amazing. We slept some of the best sleep we've had outside our own home on the comfortable bed. The cottage was quiet and outside the crazy traffic of MDI/Acadia National Park yet close to everything by taking the back roads that bypass Ellsworth. Everything was perfect and we are already hoping to return for a longer stay next year.

Freddi was the ideal host! From the moment we got there he was welcoming, giving us a tour and helping with our bags, as well as friendly, communicative and meeting us where our needs were. It truly felt like a home away from home and a family member away from family.
And the view!! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the breathtaking views of the ocean, the feeling of being tucked away in the woods, and the serene, peaceful atmosphere. The cottage itself is charming and cozy, with everything you need. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, from the comfortable furnishings to the well-equipped kitchen, making our stay incredibly comfortable and enjoyable.
Waking up to the sound of waves crashing and enjoying our morning coffee on the private deck overlooking the water was pure bliss. The sunsets were equally mesmerizing, providing the perfect backdrop for relaxing evenings.
The location is ideal, offering both seclusion and convenience. We were only 20 minutes from Acadia National Park and 10 minutes from the local lobster man (highly recommended and his info is provided!). If you're looking for a serene escape with stunning ocean views and a great location, this cottage by the sea is a gem!

Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner who then promptly gave us a tour and even helped us get our luggage unloaded. He was accessible if needed, but also gave us space. The Studio Cottage exceeded our expectations in every way and we look forward to renting again in the future.

The cottage was perfect for our getaway! We enjoyed the lovely view of the cove and the saltwater breeze blowing through the windows. It was the perfect oasis - far enough from the “hustle and bustle”, but still close enough to get to Acadia and Bar Harbor. We hope to be back soon!

My husband and I were looking for a peaceful spot with water views to spend our 20th anniversary. The Studio was the perfect place! The fresh air, water view, and sunlight that we woke up to every morning was exactly what we were looking for. Fredi is a great host and ensured we had everything we needed. Ralph and I had the most relaxing, wonderful stay at this beautiful, quaint, well-appointed studio on the bay. Hands-down, the best stay we have ever had in Maine and the views are just spectacular - definitely a new favorite spot for us. Thanks again to Fredi and Aija for your hospitality!

We had a great time at The Studio while visiting Acadia National Park despite the rainy/foggy weather. We had everything we needed and the hosts were very sweet and accommodating. They even gave an amazing local recommendation for lobster and offered us a late checkout. The location was convenient for traveling into the park and exploring the nearby area. We also loved looking out into the bay every morning. Everything was very clean and tidy. Exceptionally quiet at night with a comfortable bed. Highly recommend this VRBO.

A fantastic location for our anniversary trip. Studio was quaint, clean, and peaceful. The hosts were so pleasant and accommodating, they had several useful suggestions and readily available for any questions or needs. Location was abundant in wildlife and scenic views- in addition we had perfect weather for the week. We already cannot wait to visit again!

“The Studio” in Lamoine was the perfect getaway for our 4 night stay. It was just the right size for the 2 of us, and was clean, comfortable, cozy and private. We took countless photos of the stunning view of Berry Cove, including beautiful sunsets, and enjoyed sitting out in the porch taking it all in. Fredi was a friendly host and we enjoyed strolling around the property and talking with him. If you are coming here to spend time in Acadia, it was about a 20 minute drive. This is a place we’d surely stay in again!

The Studio offered everything we needed; bedding, towels, body wash, shampoo, etc. Pretty much the only thing we needed was our food, and a Roku stick to use with the WIFI. It was immaculate. The bed was very comfortable. We had great views of the bay from the windows, as well as from the deck. The grounds are set at the end of a private road where it was very quiet. We felt no need to lock the door at anytime. Next time we plan our vacation in the area we surely will be staying here once again.

We really enjoyed our stay. We reserved this cabin to visit nearby Acadia. While we loved Acadia, it was so nice to come back to such a quiet,peacefully cabin to overlook the cove. While one of our days ended up being a rainout, it was really nice place to spend the day indoors.

We had a great stay at “The Studio” that overlooks the quiet and peaceful waters of Berry Cove. We used it as an overnight place to visit Bar Harbor and Acadia NP but it would be a wonderful place to just relax and unwind if that’s what you need. Our hosts, Aija and Fredi, were very warm, friendly and helpful. The studio is perfect for 2 that have a desire to get away and enjoy nature and the beauty of the area.

Our Happy Place
We first visited this sweet cottage in 2019, and after three nights there it was time to go--except we didn't want to. When it came time to celebrate our 30th anniversary this summer, we knew exactly where we wanted to be. This one-room cottage by the sea is the perfect spot for exploring Acadia and the surrounding towns. Freddi is a great host, and he is very attentive. There is a great lobsterman 10 minutes away who is happy to cook your lobster as well.

Everything was perfect at the studio. Fredi was a gracious host. He was welcoming but granted us peace and privacy also. He brought us a vase of flowers from his garden one day. Highly recommend a stay here if you want a beautiful location close to Acadia.

Anniversary getaway.
Enjoyed this quiet little cabin on the water and in the woods. It has just about everything you need for a comfortable home away from home. Not far from Acadia and Bar harbor. The landlords were very accommodating and willing to help as well as take suggestions to make it even a better stay next time.

Starry tranquil setting
This cottage is a large studio with kitchen, separate bathroom. Windows around the front that faces a cove of water that you wake up to every morning,, total privacy other than a fox, or deer passing by.. Very quiet, nice front porch, owners are on same property behind you, there if needed, but gives you plenty of space. Great location, 20 mins to Acadia or Bar Harbor, 10 mins to Elsworth which is full of grocery stores, etc. Nice to spend a busy day in the park or BH and then come back to this tranquil setting, on a clear night, LOOK UP, the stars are vast and plentiful..great for a couple getaway!

Wonderful, restful cabin!
The cabin was incredibly restful and relaxing in a way that the listing's pictures can't fully capture. It was wonderful to wake up to the wind in the trees through all the windows (if you are lucky like us and the weather allows leaving them open), and to hear the soft murmur of the waves. The hosts were perfectly accommodating, and even went out of their way to fix some porch lights without even being asked! I would absolutely stay here again, and my partner and I really enjoyed our stay.

A terrific hideaway by the water
This is a wonderful cottage, clean and well organized. The bed was very comfy, enjoyed sitting on the deck and the heater kept us warm when we needed it. Everything was awesome. The owner was very quick in his response to our questions and we enjoyed sitting by the water, so peaceful. The location worked for us, we could put our kayaks in and paddle. Close to shopping and Acadia, but nice to have this tranquil setting!

We were so happy to have found this gem, in the woods, away from it all and yet on the water! The cottage was cozy, clean, comfortable and well appointed. The bed and pillows were also very comfortable! We had a chance to speak to the owner who was very nice and we enjoyed our chat. The location is just 30 minutes from hiking and Bar Harbor. A true gem and we highly recommend it for a get-away for two.

If you are looking for a place close to Acadia with a view, this one is it! It was the perfect place to relax after a day of hiking and watch the sunset from the deck. We have stayed at other rentals with the owner on property and this one was by far the most comfortable and private. The place was very clean and had everything we needed for a perfect stay!

Cozy and great location
I stayed at this property with my wife on our honeymoon. This cottage was exactly what we were looking for and more. We spent a majority of our time in Acadia and we could leave the cottage and be hiking within the hour. It is right on the water which makes for an amazing view. Frederick and his wife are very friendly and helpful but not intrusive at all. We loved our stay and we will recommend this property to our friends and family.
