The houseboat is in a nice marina. Access to the houseboat is via an enclosed floating jetty. The view is very nice because of the boats passing by. The houseboat itself looked very neat and clean inside. The aft and upper deck are great, especially when the weather is good.
There is also air conditioning which came in handy during our stay. The other (kitchen) equipment is more than sufficient. If you don't want to cook for yourself, there are two nice restaurants within walking distance.
In short, we had a very nice stay on this houseboat.
Satellite TV is available, but it only offers hundreds of (free?) German channels. Not a disaster, then we just watch Netflix or stream music because there is WiFi on the houseboat. And that worked fine for a day and a half because then the data credit of the SIM-only subscription had apparently run out.
Of course we contacted the owner/landlord: the explanation was that this was the best service that the (German) mobile provider could provide.... the data had run out and the Internet could not be repaired for the rest of the week (How do new tenants get data and access to the Internet?).
The owner/landlord has been waiting for a fiber optic connection for a long time and it is not coming...
For 1,235 Euro per week you would expect unlimited WiFi. If this limit would be stated on booking.com, you would know that in advance. Now it came suddenly and caused annoyance.
Even without fiber, there are much better (Dutch) providers that the German owner/landlord can use, but they cost a little more and you have to make some effort.
In short, all text and explanation are nothing more than excuses not to spend extra money.

Prior to arrival, the company sent a nice booklet via email with all the required information on the home. They were also very quick to respond to any questions. Upon arrival, they had left a bottle of wine, chocolates, and even a little dog bed as I mentioned that we would be bringing our dog. The apartment was very clean and modern and the BBQ worked very well. The weather was quite cold but I imagine it would be very nice to enjoy the home on the water in the summer months.
Really the only negative aspect was the internet. We do not use the wifi a ridiculous amount but considering the property stated that they had wifi, I would expect it to at least function during our whole stay. We had a Zoom call with our family back home for 2 hours on the day of our arrival (it was my boyfriend's birthday :-) ) and after that, the internet did not work at all. I thought it was maybe a glitch in the system so I waited an entire day to message the company, and they told me that the issue was probably that we had used up all of the internet and that they had nothing better they could offer their guests for "free of charge." This is a really poor answer as we paid over EUR150/night, and it was very clear that they were aware of this issue but choose to hide it from their guests as nothing is mentioned prior to booking nor prior to arrival. If you have kids or want to use the internet for anything, I highly suggest you look somewhere else. We did not have any access to internet for 4 days and nothing was done by the company.
The other negative aspect was that the TV was very basic, which makes sense that they did not have Netflix or anything similar since the wifi is so poor.
I suggest the property looks into buying wifi specifically for the houseboat instead of relying on what the harbor provides, as it is not at all adequate.
