Good A/C. Good size room with comfortable beds (2, I only used 1). The outdoor kitchen looked nice and but I didn’t use it. Good location, short walk to the central square. The owner was very nice. But... the Wifi was slow, shower drippy, couldn’t wash my hair but I only stayed for 10 hours before my night bus so that didn't bother me much… Overall, it was a good value for what I needed.
(Regarding several people who complained how the room is too small for "4 adults with 4 big backpacks". Really! Well, most rooms would be! 🤣 For the price point, wouldn't it make more sense to get 2 rooms instead of squeezing (yourself and your budget) then making (unfair) complaints afterwards?!)

It was clean, calm and easy to find. Good value. Very confortable bed. The a/c was perfect. Haven’t used the tv, internet was acceptable. Was able to watch streaming channel on y iPad.
I felt it wasn’t safe at night walking back to the hotel. It’s a bit far from downtown. There are a lot of dark streets on our way back. Have to say that The police was present. The shower was spitting, not sure I could have washed my long hair. And I did not had any hot water, which dis not bother me so much as It was hot.

Located in the city center area.
There is a small kitchen outside.
The owner is nice.
The room for 5 people is smaller than the 25 m2 annouced (more like 17 m2). It's definitely too small for 4 adults.
The internet connection was bad (it did not allow to make a reservation on booking for example).
Be aware that you cannot put toilet paper in the toilet (i don't know if all hotels in the city are this way)

Our 5 days at Siyan were perfect. Its a real home away from home. The atmosphere is calming and the owners are lovely. Would highly recommend saying here if you're in Bacalar.

The staff were really friendly and the room was brilliant - clean, great storage space and comfortable. The kitchen area was also really nice too and the free drinking water was a plus. centrally located only a couple blocks from the main square
Nothing:)

Very quiet neighborhood, yet close to amenities. Good A/C, and they have hot water. Extremely nice staff.
Not a fan of the opaque doors - you can hear every word spoken in the passageway.
This is not a 'dislike' and not a problem for me, but a note that it is one of the many places where bathroom paper can't go in the toilet.

Good Location and value for money. Everything that you need is within 5 mins walking distance.
Not many negatives but lighting can be a bit more cosy.

Lovely clean room, good social space in the open kitchen, host available and willing to help

The room was comfortable and the AC worked well. The windows had a screen against mosquitos (very necessary in that area). The kitchen was well equipped and big enough to cook. The bikes to rent are in a rather good state (compared to other bike rentals eg in Tulum).
The room was a bit small for 4 people with big backpacks, but that’s no big deal for only a few nights. And the toilet needs a lot of time in between flushes to refill the water tank.

The room was spacious and offered a HUGE and super comfortable bed.
When we arrived, they just finished cleaning our room, yet the floor was still wet.

Very clean, best beds on our trip, lovely and clean shared kitchen. Walking distance to the lagoon.

The room was cramped and hot. It is more of a backpack place as it had no frills. If you are looking for that, then it would be a good option for you.

They provided a clean, organized little outdoor space with drinking water, fridge, coffeemaker and a hotplate to prepare your own breakfast or lunch.

We spent just one night here, but bed was the best I've had in Mexico, I slept like a baby.
Staff was nice and even let us park our car inside, not on the street.

Spacious room with lots of extras like face cloths and bath mat, and nice shampoos, and netflix. We enjoyed cooking our own food in the kitchen, which was kept very clean by the staff.

A very short walk to the shops, restaurants and main Center. 5 min walk to the Laguna. It was super clean and the little kitchen had every thing we needed for 6 people. We toke 2 rooms and both were comfortable.
