Very cozy and well maintained house. You do need to remember as with all old houses stairs are narrow and floors can be uneven especially on the upper floor but that is part of the charm!

We were thoroughly pleased with the cottage, the location was walking distance from all the sights and convenient to restaurants and the Salem Common. The owner was most accommodating and a pleasure to deal with. Overall, would highly recommend to anyone interested in a stay in historic Salem.

We loved our stay at the cottage. The remodeling was beautifully done while still maintaining the integrity of the historic nature of the home. Having the extra half bath was so convenient and the kitchen was beautiful and updated. The location was perfect - quiet and convenient to everything Salem! We genuinely enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful home built in the 1790s, easy walk into town and it was a 3 minute walk to the House of the Seven Gables. The beds were very comfortable and the two bathrooms worked out for the four of us even though one was only a sink and toilet.
I would definitely stay there again, very charming place.

What an amazing property and location. Just enough modern amenities to not overpower the old-school charm. The neighborhood was amazing to walk through to read all the house plaques. Plus, it's 1/2 block from the House of Seven Gables and another block to a small snippet of the ocean.
The location was so fantastic that we could walk to all our destinations. We had tickets to So Sweet, ate at great restaurants, and took a ghost walk. We had so much fun, we'd like to come back during the summer months. Thanks for a lovely weekend!!
I highly recommend it with zero reservations!

This house was perfect. First of all, it was spotless. Everything was clean, and comfortable. The bedrooms were very nice, comfortable beds, cozy living room and nice kitchen. It felt like you were stepping back in time in this house in every way with the exception of modern convenience. the air conditioners kept the place cool, but they were silent. The bathroom was super clean and the shower was excellent. Over all a great house that is super cute and so great because it was built in 1739.
The location though may be the best part. It is one block from the House of the 7 Gables, which is amazing. We wnet for the tour and it was completely worth it. Our 10 year ols and 13 year old both agree that tour was possibly the best thing we did on our vacation, which also included visiting the beaches of Cape Cod, go carts, kayaking and a dozen other awesome things and the tour of a 17th century historical landmark house was at the top of their list. You have to take the tour to see why, it's very interesting. We think our tour guide Stephen really made it memorable. His story telling brought us right back to the year 1700. Salem is a beautiful city, with extremely interesting things to see and do and this house really sets the stage for the stay. I am trying to get my friends and family to go stay there.

Everything was supplied at the home, including laundry detergent, hair, dryer, iron, ironing, board, shower gel, and shampoo. The only thing you had to supply was the food you were going to eat. Although I brought cards to play in case it rained, there was a great supply of games on the property.

Such a cute little property close to everything Salem has to offer. We loved the architectural history of the house and how the owner has worked to preserve as much as possible. You can sort of imagine yourself in the era. Clean, cozy and comfortable! Kitchen well equipped for preparing meals.

The cottage was lovely and has so much character. Very clean and in a quiet area. Great outside relaxing area. Very convenient and in walking distance to everything. You can catch a ferry to Boston very inexpensive for the commuter run, and its only a 10 minute walk. The place is not super big, but perfect for four adults or small family, or even a girls weekend getaway. Definitely would stay there again and would recommend. Much to do in Salem and a very welcoming vibe from the residents. Great place/area over all. The owner was very receptive and a pleasure to communicate with. Thanks Dale for sharing your home. Relaxing quiet home
The house is very charming. We enjoyed sitting outside each night and relaxing with a cocktail. additional lighting would have been nice outside but did not stop us from having an amazing time!
The house is close to all the sights in town and if you’re looking for a fabulous dinner we recommend Turner’s.

Fantastic Location
This charming house is located right down the street from Seven Gables. There is a cute gift shop on Derby street to your left and pubs and more shopping on the right on Derby street. Walking distance from the Salem Witch Museum and Essex Street. Convenient parking right by the front door.
We parked and walked everywhere. The commons is close too. It was Marvelous.
