We’ve been to the outer banks many times, but this was one of the cleanest, well stocked houses we’ve been in. The pool area was fantastic. Great tiki vibe. Short walk to the beach and easy access too. Everyone had an awesome time.

The house and pool areas are very clean. The owners provided everything that you could need for cooking, swimming, and having beach fun! Yvonne sent daily messages regarding the rip currents and checked in as needed.

We enjoyed our stay at A Pelican’s View, a comfortable and well maintained home just a short walk to the shops in Duck. We really appreciated the well-stocked kitchen, lots of beach gear and beautiful pool! And Yvonne, the owner, was wonderful - she checked in with us before our trip and stayed in touch with us throughout our week, which was especially helpful because tropical storm Idalia passed through the OBX late the week we were there. Great house especially for families with younger children.

Our family of 4 had a wonderful time at Yvonne’s place. The pool was the best! We spent most of our time there and hanging at the tiki bar. Our kids are 5 and 7, so being close to the beach and town was perfect for walking around. Another next feature is the deck with great views of the ocean and sound. Yvonne is also a very gracious host and was so easy to get in touch with. She even quickly mail us an iPad we forgot!

We had a great time staying at A Pelican's View. The pool was amazing, so much better than even the pictures show. The house was so well stocked with pool and beach gear. We loved the proximity to the main road through Duck where all the shops and restaurants are. It's a bit of a walk to the beach but we are walkers and don't mind. And there are always the bikes to get there a bit faster. This house really has everything you need for a great beach getaway.

Much needed vacation.
The property is wonderful, very clean and very well stocked with all that you need to have a pleasant stay. The owner is very easy to speak to and to get a hold of, she is very responsive. We had an amazing time with our family and heated pool was definitely a plus!! Would highly recommend this property!

Wonderful stay
We had a great stay! It was a very convenient location being close to the beach and downtown Duck. Yvonne was very attentive and sent e-mails about the beach conditions every day. The house has everything you need to enjoy your stay. We plan on returning hopefully soon!

Great Vacation Spot
This is a great property for a relaxing family vacation. The place was spacious, clean, well equipped and had a very nice private pool and outdoor bar area. It is also in a perfect location, with only a short walk to the Duck boardwalk on the Sound or private Atlantic Ocean beach access. It was so conveniently located we rarely used our car. Yvonne was an excellent host and communicated regularly. We hope to return one day soon.

We loved our time at A Pelican's View. The property is well-maintained and in a great location between Duck town center and the beach. The kids had a great time at the pool and we all made good use of the beach accessories, bikes, and other items that are available. The owner was extremely welcoming and communicative through our week's stay. We really enjoyed our visit and hope to make it back sometime!

Wonderful stay!
We loved our week in Duck. The house is walking distance to shops/markets/restaurants and a short drive to Corolla. There’s beach access at the end of the road as well. Yvonne’s home is clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the pool and eating on the screened in deck! Hope to come back sometime!

Amazing stay for our week in Duck, NC
House had a great location right in the middle of Duck. Could see both the sound and the ocean from the crows nest rooftop deck. Five minute walk to boardwalk to ocean, or could drive down residential street and park. Right near market, easy walk for coffee and boardwalk on the sound shops. Pool was a great size for a rental of this size - family loved eating at the tiki bar poolside and lots of lounge furniture. Kitchen well stocked, also had beach items stocked for use (cart, umbrella, chairs). Family also loved the large collection of board games!
Would 100% recommend. Hope to go back in the future!

Great family vacation week!
This was our second week staying at Pelican’s View! We stayed in 2019 and had a great experience so rebooked for 2020. With increasing Covid numbers last summer, Yvonne was gracious enough to allow us to rebook for 2021! The house is clean, well appointed, and in an excellent area close to the town of Duck. Walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the beach. She has everything from bikes to beach wagons to a fully stocked kitchen to make your stay fun and convenient. My kids (9,8,6) love the pool and bunk beds! We will definitely be back.

Great location! Very clean!!
Our family of four had an amazing week! The Pelican's View was very clean! Our kids have a lot of environmental allergies but we had no issues. The location is great! +10min walk to the beach, -10min walk to Coffee/Donuts/Duck. The beautiful pool, ping pong table, and bikes were all the perfect way to end our day. Yvonne is an excellent communicator and was available if we needed anything (which we didn't). I would not hesitate to stay here again!

Fantastic
We had an amazing time! The property was located in the perfect place to enjoy both the beach as well as town. The house had absolutely anything and everything you could possibly need to have an amazing vacation! When we come back to duck we would certainly hope to stay in this property again! The owner Yvonne was incredibly responsive and was diligent in making sure the property was in tip top shape, and then we had everything we needed! She even gave me a tip on a sale in town for a fantastic home store! Thank you so much, we could not have had a better time.

Wonderful Stay!
We had a great week in Duck! The house was just as stated. The location is perfect. A quick walk brings you to the beach and the boardwalk. Yvonne was attentive to our needs as we had a little trouble with the pool heat, but she was on it quickly and it didn’t stop us from enjoying our trip. We would definitely return again!

Perfect location
This house had everything you could need for a perfect beach vacation ! Walking distance to shops and grocery store. Short drive down to the beach with parking right by the beach access. Loved hanging by the pool all day and playing ping pong and riding bikes. Would definitely recommend staying here! Yvonne was an amazing host!

Great week in Duck!
We've been vacationing in Duck for several years with family friends and this was our first stay at Pelican's View. You can tell that the house has been well cared for by the owner. We traveled with another family and between us there were 4 adults and 3 kids aged 5, 2 1/2 and 2. We loved having meals on the screened porch, the rooftop deck was perfect for viewing amazing sunsets over the sound, the house is very clean and well-supplied when it comes to kitchen equipment and pool/beach gear, you are very close to town which is great for scooping up dinner, icecream trips, and shopping. We loved spending the morning and early evenings at the beach and the afternoons at the pool while the kiddos napped. We had a wonderful stay! Yvonne is a great hostess, very accessible, and truly wants you to enjoy your time at her house. The check-in/check-out process could not have been easier.
Some things to note for families with young children: even with a wagon, the walk to the beach is a bit long if you have young kids- its doable and we did it multiple times a day but in the hot sun and lugging/pulling a bunch of stuff, it can feel like a trek; there is no pantry in the kitchen so finding a place to keep food (organized) for the week for two families was challenging (the fridge is also on the smaller side); there is no bathroom by the pool (again, mostly only an issue if you have young kids); there are blinds but no curtains over the windows in the bedrooms and travel blackout curtains were very hard to pin up (again, if you have young kids- wasn't an issue for our 5 yr old). The house does have tons of supplies for kids - high chairs, kid-sized utensils, lots of games, beach toys/buckets, and I think I even saw a pack n play, etc. And there is a baby gate at the top of the stairs, which was very handy!

Great Stay in Duck
Our family of five, three boys ages 3-11, thoroughly enjoyed our Outer Banks vacation. The house is extremely clean, very well maintained and had everything you could possibly want for a beach vacation. The pool is fantastic, and our boys loved hanging out there every afternoon. We liked being able to walk to the Duck boardwalk, with its restaurants and shops. We opted to drive to the beach since we were able to park right by the entrance, but you could easily walk if you prefer. We would be happy to stay here again and hope we are able to do so in the future.

We had a great time staying at "A Pelican's View!" The house was so well appointed; great furniture (indoor and outdoor), pool area clean, and nice small touches, such as dishsoap, bathmats, a hair dryer, and more. Although Hurricane Dorian cut our week short, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to return!

Fantastic Family Beach Getaway
This property was far more than the pictures show or than was advertised! The owner was extremely helpful with answers to questions, and in accommodating our almost 3 year old grandson. The location was perfect~~we love walking and the beach and town were within great walking distance, the surrounding homes and neighborhoods were also lovely and well maintained. Great restaurants all around and fun shops. We are outdoors people who daily loved the beach, loved walking all over, and loved the pool. The crow's nest allowed us to see Saturn and Jupiter with the owner's telescope. Relaxing and renewing. We'd go again in a heartbeat.

Gem of a location in Duck
This house has everything you could need for a fun-filled vacation - location, pool and oceanside! The flow of the house is ideal... 4 bedrooms on the first level, w/ 2 jack and jill bathrooms, making for a nice and private set-up. The bunk beds were also great (full on bottom, twin on top w/ a pullout underneath). The kitchen on the second level is heavily stocked with everything you could need. There are multiple decks and the top deck (unique!) is amazing for sunsets and views of the ocean and sound. The owner Yvonne was an excellent communicator and takes a lot of care in her home. The pool is FUN! Tiki style and loaded w/ floats, chairs, etc. It almost made the other pools look bare! We'd definitely return.

The location, perfect! Peaceful neighborhood. Walking distance to shops, stores, restaurants, & the beach. The pool, best in the neighborhood! Mix of shade & sun, tons of pool toys & seating, hammock, ample seating, & outdoor games. The outdoor shed provided us with everything we needed for the pool AND the beach. The house, stocked with anything you would need... especially if you are flying in like we did. Indoor & outdoor dishes. Gas & charcoal grills. Cleaning & laundry supplies. Movies & games for all ages. Lots of seating inside & out for family meals. The owner, Yvonne, the most kind and most attentive owner we have ever worked with! Above and beyond what we expected while we were there AND after. We returned home to discover our daughter left a very expensive item at the house. We contacted Yvonne. She secured the item immediately, priority shipped it to us, AND refused to let us reimburse her for the shipping costs. This was a wonderful vacation for our family that we will remember fondly forever! Thank you Yvonne and when we decide it's time to come back, I already know where we will be staying!!!

Wonderful location and perfect set up
Pelican's view was the perfect beach home for a family with children. The location was perfect, close to the beach and shopping. The pool was fantastic, the best thing after a day at the beach. The house had everything you could possibly need for the week. I highly recommend staying here!

Great start to summer
We had a great stay at Pelican’s View! Yvonne made the check-in process easy and everything was clean and ready on time. The house had a very well stocked kitchen with all sorts of supplies. My kids (7,6,4) loved the bunk beds and jack-n-Jill bathroom. They also did NOT want to leave the pool!!! The location is excellent. Short walk to the beach and short walk to town. The town of Duck has great little shops and all the necessities can be found just a short walk away. We had a little storm during our week stay that did some wind damage to the property and Yvonne was quick to get someone out to immediately address things. We thoroughly enjoyed our first Outer Banks experience at Pelican’s View!
