About this cottage rental

This cottage is right on the water and there are steps right down to a private beach! It is one of 20 free standing condo cottages at the Wellfleeter and has a spectacular waterfront view of Wellfleet Harbor and Cape Cod Bay from the master bedroom, the kitchen and the living room. Wow- it still surprises me how amazing the view is when I go over there. It is cottage #9. The association stairs- there are about 15 steps- lead you down to the sandy bay beach for swimming, boating, fishing, shell fishing, or just plain relaxing! There are two or three steps up to get into the cottage. The sunsets will take your breath away. The beach is just 20 ft from this condo. Right down the street from the playground, skateboard park, tennis and basketball courts. The town pier, many restaurants, art galleries and shopping in downtown Wellfleet are within a short distance. I often walk it. The cottage has wireless internet. We have a washer and dryer in the basement which is accessed from the outside of the cottage through a bulkhead.
We have three bedrooms; one with a queen bed, one with a full size bed and one with two twin beds. Each bedroom has a closet and dresser. We provide mattress pads, pillows and blankets. YOU are responsible for BRINGing your sheets and bath towels. The kitchen has a table to eat in and also a slider out to the patio where we have our grill and waterfront picnic table. We have tried to stock the kitchen with anything you might need pot and pan wise. We have dishes, glasses, flatware and a dishwasher. We have spices, olive oil and some of the basic items you might want/need; a roll of paper towels, aluminum foil, saran wrap, dish & dishwasher soap, and coffee. If you expect to use more paper goods please bring them and leave the cottage as you found it with a roll of towels for the next guests.
We have a basement with beach chairs, beach toys and a washer and dryer. Feel free to use all of it! This really is a special spot!

My family of 5 had a wonderful stay at Wellfleeter cottage number 9. We put our 10 and 6 year old on the room with two twin beds and the 4 year old in the room with a full. My husband and I took the queen. The Cottage was very well stocked with basic spices, olive oil, balsamic, and dish towels. Big pots are in the basement. There are plenty of plates, mugs, cups, including kid-friendly non-breakable options.
We loved the toys in the closet and the beach toys in the basement.
The location was fantastic - we walked to a playground, which also had tennis and pickle ball courts. And we could walk to Mac's seafood. Big kids or adults could walk to town. We just drove and parked near Hatch's to go to town. In the mornings, the tide is low and we could dig, make sand castles with moats or walk out to see the oyster farmers. In the afternoons the tide is high and the water goes up the sea wall, but without big waves. This creates a pool effect and is perfect for floaties.
The unit has WIFI, but the television has cable and no smart options. We purchased a Roku device and an HDMI cable and it worked perfectly. I recommend guests bring these items or that the cottage invest in a system that guests can log into. My children do not understand broadcast cable.
All in all, a wonderful stay in a beautiful place!

My family of 6 was not planning to go on vacation this summer. The stars aligned and when we discovered this little cottage in Wellfleet, we couldn’t pass it up. Amazingly, due to a cancelation, the only week we could escape town, this cottage was now available. It was wonderful. Great location and in the middle of everything.
With a family of 6, the only tricky part was one bathroom, but We figured out a routine and it actually wasn’t that bad. This cottage is directly on the water,, walking distance to everything in town and Kathleen was very attentive and quick to respond with any questions.
The cottage was clean, fully stocked with beach chairs/toys for kids/family games, kitchen had everything you needed. It is small, but families with 4 kids can make it work.

The cottage is absolutely perfect. 3 bedrooms are perfect. The basement is full of outdoor games. The interior has many games books and many kitchen accessories. Best part is it is on the Bay! We had a great stay. Will definitely stay again

Our family of six (including 4 teens) truly enjoyed our stay in this wonderful cottage overlooking the gorgeous bay. We enjoyed swimming, watching the tidal changes, walking to Mac's for ice cream and lobster rolls, and playing pickleball at the nearby courts. The location was perfect for relaxing and short trips to Provincetown and Great Island Trail. Kathleen was incredibly responsive and welcoming. We are grateful to have found this special spot.

This is our third time staying and everything about the house and stay was perfect. Check in was seamless. When we ran out of propane it was replaced within two hours(!?!), and the house continues to always be so clean and have improvements every time we stay. 5+ stars!

Adorable cottage overlooking the private beach! Beautiful views, perfect to sit at the picnic table with your morning coffee or at night watching the stars twinkle. Cross breezes keep the cottage cool…. We walked in to a fresh bouquet of wild flowers on the island! How thoughtful and pretty! The cottage was thoughtfully stocked with just about every kitchen tool one might need. Meticulously clean and tidy. Everything from kids games to fans to cleaning supplies. Everything we needed was there. Kathleen was responsive to the few questions we did have. I highly recommend this property!

Our family of 5 (kids 10, 8, and 6) were happy to call this cottage on the beach our home for three weeks in Summer 2022. The cottage is truly waterfront behind a seawall with an unimpeded 270 degree view of Wellfleet Harbor (the Gut and Great Island, Mayo Beach, and the Federal channel). From sunup to sundown you can watch the comings and goings of the working shell/fishing fleet and pleasurecraft. There's a fantastic sandy beach just down the stairs traversing the seawall, though you should know there is no usable beach area at the peak of high tide. Nevertheless this leaves you with many hours daily of perfect sandy beach without seaweed. As with most Wellfleet beaches, bring your water shoes because there are lots of sharp shells on the beach - especially if you're in the water at low tide. The house has everything - well-stocked kitchen and bathrooms as well as all the beach toys you and your kids could want. It's super convenient - 8-10 minute walk to Mayo Beach, Ceraldi, Mac's On the Pier, and the Pearl in one direction and Chequesset Club (open to the public) in the other direction. 20 minute walk to Mac's Shack. 25 minute walk to BOL, Wellfleet Market, Hatch's, Emack and Bolio's, Sickday, and everything else in Wellfleet Center. If you're a runner this is the best place in Wellfleet you can stay - you can easily have a 10 mile scenic, hilly route without needing to set foot onto Route 6.

Everything from making reservations, communicating prior to our arrival and providing every essential in the cute cottage was completed with respect and ease. The view right on the water was spectacular and healing. There’s nothing like falling asleep to the sound of waves and having coffee on the picnic table on the patio. So nice! I’ll be back for sure!

Perfect little cottage for our family of two adults and three kids under 9. I slept to the sounds of the ocean and woke up to the ocean filling the huge window and kids full of joy! The beach is rocky but so fun for kids to explore. We watched a sunfish flapping around and ran around the beach with glow sticks at night. The location in Wellfleet is great- walking distance to a great playground and skate park, and nearby restaurants and galleries. 25 minute drive to Ptown. We enjoyed every second and can’t wait to go back!

We had a fantastic week in this lovely condo. Kathleen stocked the kitchen very well and it was extremely clean. The neighborhood was very quiet. Loved sitting at the dining room table and watching the waves, birds, fish, seals and a sunfish. It was very hard to leave. Can't recommend this spot enough.

Wonderful beach stay with small children
This is a dream cottage right on the water. The set-up was perfect for our family of 4 with two small children. The cottage was compact but perfectly laid out to fit all of our needs. Best of all, the ocean is right outside the window. We went to sleep at night with the sounds of the waves and a view of the stars. Our girls absolutely loved the beach that was just down the stairs. The cottage was clean with plenty of amenities and the ocean breeze kept it cool at night even during a hot week. It was perfectly located close to the town pier, a playground, and the center of town. An unexpected bonus was the basement with washer/dryer, beach chairs and other amenities, along with a toy closet in the cottage that my kids could not get enough of. We had a very memorable week, and hope to stay here again in the future. Such a special place!

Outstanding Property
This is a beautiful home which has been kept in pristine condition by the owner, Kathleen. Location is terrific as well. Home is right on the bay, with amazing views. We were fortunate enough to see a blood orange full moon rising over the water on our stay. Home was well stocked with the essentials you would expect to find in a quality home, but also included additional items you don't always find. Washer and dryer are found in an immaculate basement that can only be accessed through the bulkhead outside. That was not an issue for us, but worth noting. Kathleen was highly engaged and very responsive to any questions we had before our visit. This is clearly a 5* home and we would be happy to rent again.

The house is perfectly situated for amazing views. We loved hanging out on the picnic table or even in the living room overlooking the bay. It’s also a great walk to the pier with restaurants, shops and activities. The incredibly charming little village is just up the hill ❤️ The cottage is not big but it is very well appointed and beautifully decorated! We thoroughly enjoyed a restful relaxing week by the bay!
