This Is a great little cabin in the woods. Walking distance to some beautiful trails. And a short drive to everything you want to see at Acadia national Park. The cabin was extremely clean and beautiful knotty pine. The only negative I would say is that the ad says it sleeps four. It would be very tight with four people, Rob and Marge were very attentive and available whenever we needed something. Would highly recommend cabin one.

Rob & Marj have a wonderful Cabin that we really enjoyed. It was perfect for our week trip to Acadia. It was centrally located to most things and it was quiet and private. It was clean and had all the amenities that we needed. There are many places to eat near by and plenty to do in Acadia and in nearby Bar Harbor. Overall it’s a very great stay. The pictures don’t highlight how great it really is! I would definitely stay here again when I’m in this part of Maine.

My fiancée and I visit maine annually for my birthday. This trip has been the best one yet! Rob was very kind and finding the house was very easy. The cabin made for a lovely, intimate week of being in the middle of a beautiful island. Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful cabin! Hope to stay again one day! - Kenedie and Alex from Rhode Island

Location, location, location! Not only did this cute cabin meet all our needs and wants, it is perfectly nestled against the park. Walk into Acadia or take a short drive to all your ANP and island destinations. Thanks, Rob and Marge. We truly enjoyed our stay.

When planning a trip to Acadia with my kids, I didn’t really know where to stay. I was fortunate to stumble upon this little cabin in Southwest Harbor. If you’re looking for frills, this isn’t your place, but with a location as perfect as this cabin, you don’t need them. The inside is cozy and met our needs well. The outdoor area is beautiful and has a grill, picnic table and plenty of yard space for the kids to play. The property backs right up to the park, so you can venture out on a nature walk right from the cabin. The location is great! It’s very quiet and peaceful and set back from town, so there’s no neighboring noise. Southwest Harbor is a quaint little town, which had a pace I preferred much more than that of Bar Harbor. All the hikes we went on were 30 minutes or less of a drive. The furthest we went was to Schoodic Point and that was about an 80 minute drive. There is a beautiful lake in Southwest Harbor that offers slightly warmer swimming water than the ocean offers. This was a wonderful place to hang our hats after long days in the park and definitely a place I’d recommend to others.

Rob was a great host and has constructed a fantastic cabin perfect for an outdoor lover's dream. Camp fires every night, BBQ available for grillables, and a quiet and secluded place away from the hustle and bustle. Thanks for the perfect getaway for this family of 3.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property and on MDI! It was nice to come back to the “quiet side” after spending the day hiking & exploring Bar Harbor. Rob was quick to respond when the grill was out of propane. He greeted us upon our arrival & gave us some tips & tricks to the island. Would stay here again & recommend it to a friend!

The cabin was our base camp and we were frequently out from dusk to dawn exploring everything. Rob met us as we got in and answered all our questions. We would definitely stay here again, and quite possibly may. We’ve already talked about a possible return trip. Thank you Rob and Marj

For me, the location outside Southwest Harbor was perfect. The cabin has walking trails adjacent to it. The owners live a stone's throw away. That is a definite positive aspect, but I had absolutely no problems during my stay. I recommend this cabin without hesitation.

Acadia Explorer Cabin
This was our third time staying in Cabin number 1. We were greeted upon our arrival by our host, Rob, and had a nice chance to chat before moving our gear into the cabin. As experienced in the past, the cabin was clean and neat and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing week. The wooded setting was quiet and peaceful and the screened in porch was a favorite spot for having a cup of tea and a good read. This cabin is perfect for the way we like to vacation and makes it possible for us to access all that Acadia National Park has to offer!

Best vacation yet!
We absolutely loved this cabin in Southwest Harbor! The cabin was very clean and cozy. The bed was the most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept in on a vacation! Which was so great after such busy fun filled days! Rob greeted us in person shortly after we arrived. Gave us some great recommendations on where to eat. Taught us where to catch the best trails into Acadia National Park from THE BACK YARD! We were able to hike Little Pond, Perpendicular Trail, and Great Notch without having to drive anywhere at all. Everything we needed was close by and Bar Harbor was only 30 minutes away!
We had the best week here and would recommend Explorer cabins to anyone wanting to stay out of the craziness of Bar Harbor! Thanks for a great time Rob & Marj!

Perfect stay
We absolutely love this cabin! Rob came over to say hi, which we really appreciated! He also made sure we knew where to find his number for any questions/concerns. It was clean and well equipped. We literally had everything we needed! We typically come to Acadia to do 15-20 miles of hiking a day and then come back to where we’re staying to eat/crash each night! Having a kitchen and grill made that possible. We also loved starting and ending our day with the screened in porch! Summer in Acadia is buggy and this made it possible to enjoy the weather without the mosquitoes!
This was our first time actually staying on the “quiet side” and we will never stay anywhere else in the Acadia area. The locals are friendly, the restaurants are better/less crowded/less touristy, the trails are just as good and less crowded. The drives to different areas of the park are all reasonable.
Our favorite part of this location was access to trails! We literally a path right outside of the cabin, that takes you to a trailhead. How cool is that! We absolutely hope to stay here again the next time we visit! Thanks Rob and Marj for sharing!!

We loved this property. It was just what we needed for a perfect trip to MDI. The Rankins are great and we enjoyed our trip! So many great trails just outside the cabin, property is quiet and private, and I would highly recommend for families with children.

Cozy getaway
This was exactly what we had hoped for. Nestled away on the quiet spot on the edge of Acadia National Park. Surrounded by beautiful pine trees, and just steps away from a trail. We met one of the hosts, and he was very nice, but also kept to himself throughout the stay. Very good value, and lovely.

Acadia Gem
We had a wonderful time staying at this cozy cottage near Acadia in a quiet and peaceful setting. It had access to hiking trails just off the property and was only a short distance to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. The communication with the hosts was top notch and they were available to answer any questions we had. We would not hesitate to stay here again on a future trip.

Second year in a row
The cabin is perfect. Rob is a great guy. We enjoyed it so much last year, we decided to come back again this year. We hiked directly from the cabin two days. The property is adjacent to Acadia.
