Beautiful, clean, organized house. It feels like you are deep in the mountains far away from civilization but actually only a short walk to town. Owner was very helpful. We will be back.

The house is very nice and very big. The kitchen has ample counter/cabinet space and a big island with seating. The dining area off the kitchen seats six with other chairs available. Living room very nice and comfortable. The first floor bedroom suite is awesome with a walk-in closet and a large bathroom with jacuzzi. The other four bedrooms and two baths are upstairs. Each room having it's own unique character. Lovely desk area outside the main floor bedroom and near the third floor basement which is filled with games and a large TV and speaker system. Basement has an extra refrigerator as well as a sink and cabinet for entertaining. All doors lead outside to the beautiful retreat of the welcoming mountains and nature. The decking around the home, especially the hanging swing, is a wonderful rest area for conversation and making great memories. Owners stock the property well unlike most rentals.

We had a wonderful family retreat to see the leaves changing colors. Location was very convenient walking distance to downtown Banner Elk and Lee's McRae college, but still felt like you are in the woods. We all enjoyed the house & outdoor space on the desk and by the fire pit. Would recommend to anyone looking for a getaway to the mountains.

Our overall experience was very good! The house was beautiful and big just as the pictures displayed on the website! The only thing that I would suggest would be to add some additional lighting especially in the kitchen that could use maybe some recess lights. However everyone loved the house and we had a great time!

This house is perfect. The cleanest rental we have ever had. Everything was as specified in the description or in most cases better. My favorite part of the house was the amazing porch with a beautiful view of the mountains. Everyone in our group loved this house. There was plenty of room for everyone. The location is as advertised and close to the main street in Banner Elk. Perfect. We will be back.

I rented this place for several family members and myself, for my son’s destination wedding at Overlook Barn. The place is beautiful and well stocked. A key factor for us was each bedroom having its own bathroom to allow everyone to get ready for the wedding without waiting. The views and landscaping are great. The place is more hidden than the picture suggests. Our weekend was perfect, even though the weather was not. Torrential rain and wind, which turned to sleet and then snow, made it difficult to get to our scheduled activities. Rare and unexpected for Easter weekend on April 20! The Painted Fish and Beer Bar, The Bodega, and Alpen Inn all had wonderful food and service. Fred’s store is a must—if he doesn’t have it, you don’t really need it!! We had one weather related incident with a leak that was immediately addressed after a text to the owner, who called back and arranged a repair within minutes. My entire family was impressed with this beautifully decorated and spacious home.

Cozy mountain ambiance. House is much bigger than it looks with a great downstairs for games...our teens loved family poker nights. Morning cofeee on the porch rockers and swing was so peaceful even in our week of rain. Fav outings were Crab Orchard and Elk Falls.

This lovely house was the perfect property for our family to stay in for Memorial Day weekend. The kitchen supplies were extensive, the children could hang out in the basement, the porch had a pleasant view of the mountains and there was plenty of outdoor seating with a fantastic fire pit. The house and furnishings are like a mini-museum with all sorts of interesting paraphernalia. We could walk to town for dinner. Grandfather Mountain and hiking were easily accessible. If we plan another family weekend in the mountains, we would absolutely try to stay here again.

Really enjoyed our stay. Very cozy home, with gorgeous mountain views on either end of the house. Plenty of room, the game room in the basement was a perfect place to hang out! Secluded enough to get the privacy you want, but close enough to town to jump right into the action. Enough bedrooms, and bathrooms for everyone, beds were really comfortable. Just all around an outstanding stay! Will have to make this cabin happen again!

Loved our stay! Mountain views on both ends of the house. Sitting on the porch you can hear the peaceful stream below. You get the seclusion you want, but you are also just minutes from town. Every room has a historic warm feel and very clean. Will hopefully be back!

Three generations of our family came together here to celebrate Christmas, and we had a wonderful time! This beautifully renovated house met our needs (great kitchen, ample bedrooms and bathrooms) and provided the mountain getaway we wanted.

We loved this property! Plenty of room to spread out but cozy at the same time. Perfect for family time. Basement den is great for playing games or watching movies. Lots of fun around the outdoor firepit. Centrally located for day trips to Tweetsie and Grandfather Mountain. I highly recommend this house!

We really enjoyed staying at this property. The house is great and has tons of space so it works well for multiple people. It's very pleasant and quiet. We really enjoyed all the fireplaces and the jacuzzi tub. It was also nice to be so close to town and have good access to restaurants.

WOW WOW WOW! What an awesome house. My wife and I can up for a quick honeymoon and definitely will be back. Views from every window and awesome deck and patio area. Walking distance to downtown Banner Elk but very private location. The house had everything we needed and more! Highly recommend
