Great location and views.

My family enjoyed our stay at this property. The house is a lot bigger than seen in pictures providing ample space for both adults and teens. Excellent location, not only is it oceanfront with easy beach access, the property is also close to stores, restaurants, and parks. Lots to do in Fort Bragg! We loved looking at the seals and finding marine life in the tide pools at MacKerricher State Park. We also enjoyed the sunroom and views from the deck! Beautiful sunsets and ocean!

Had a great 4 day weekend. Location is perfect. Neighborhood is quiet. The house is fairly dated inside. Stove can be tricky to work and the heater in the downstairs bedroom didnt work.

Had an incredibly relaxing, fun family vacation at this amazing beachfront house! The home is comfortable and super family oriented - lots of cushy couches and chairs, some board games, beach toys in the garage. Stunning views of the ocean and sunset from every window and the deck. The beach is literally steps away and was practically private, with super soft sand, tide pools, and plenty of room for games, sandcastles and naps! A bike path between the beach and house extends for miles in either direction, for folks wanting to jog, stroll or ride. The added bonuses of the indoor hot tub and the backyard fire pit lead to evening fun. Made lots of wonderful memories and got some much needed R&R before heading back to school. We cant wait to book again next summer!

This home was exactly what our family hoped for celebrating our time together. The children (ages 5 - 15) were unanimous in agreement that being close to beach was the highlight. The adults loved the beautiful ocean views, the quiet location, and an inviting homey feeling. I loved the ease of working with property management.

We stayed at the Beacon House for five nights right after Christmas. This was a gathering of three couples and children. The house was large with an unusual and beautiful glass enclosed entrance and two bedroom downstairs that allowed couples some unexpected isolation and space. The dining room looking towards the ocean was our favorite place, especially on the rainy days one can get in December. We found the house to be better and larger than it looks in the photos. The kitchen and the downstairs shower could use remodeling, but everything worked well enough to have had a very enjoyable time.

The house was a great size, suited our family needs and in a great location, close to the beach, but it needs updating and is somewhat worn.

I don't think there is enough room to really explain our experience and a lot of mixed feelings on the overall stay. First off be sure to look over the rental agreement, I booked a year in advance and did not brush up on the agreement (my fault). Although I did abide by the maximum "overnight" guests, I did not alert property management of anyone else coming over. I have family that lives in Fort Bragg and other family that stayed at a hotel and had no clue that getting together for dinner at the home has to be relayed to the property management. If you do have anyone over it is more money per person per day added on.
The home could not be in a better place in terms of access to the beach. The home is outdated, not the cleanest, stove is temperamental but had everything we needed. I could have overlooked these things easily because the view when you woke up and the location were incredible. What I could not overlook was the neighbor directly behind the home. Now this couple is not happy that this home is a VRBO, and they let you know it. The minute we stepped out of the car we were getting glared at and watched. We are a blended family and I am not going to assume they did not like that, but they did not want us there. Every time we stepped outside they were there watching us and giving us dirty looks. We made sure we did not play music and did not spend too much time outside near there home but it did not matter. They reported us to property management for too many people and an RV that my brother and his friend drove down in (whole other story), and honestly I feel sorry for the property management because these people must be an ongoing nightmare. Once the neighbors complained they were laughing and waving at us, but we tried to make the most of our remaining two nights. This was our third annual family vacation and my father has recently taken a turn with his dementia. He wants to do this every year until his passing, and I was very disappointed our vacation was ruined by this horrible couple. We plan to go back next year, but unfortunately not to this home.

Great for family of 9.
All of us enjoyed our stay here. Plenty of room for our family of 9 with lots room for our grandkids to play both inside and outside. The house is in a nice location…close to many attractions in the area. There was easy access to the beach….even for this 72 year old grandmother! The views of the ocean were amazing and we all spent lots of time on the deck and at the large table with its terrific views of the water. We did wish that more of the windows, especially on the dining porch, opened and had screens. Would definitely stay here again when we’re in the area.

On the beach perfection
We had a great time at this beach house! It was as expected, with great WiFi, right on the beach. The paved walking trail runs along the beach with easy access. We enjoyed the perfect wave views from the dining sun room as well as sitting in the living room. The hot tub was fun. The upstairs had the king master with en-suite with tub. Also a half bath. Downstairs hall access bath with standing small shower. This house was cozy and comfortable.

This house is all about the location.
The house is not perfect; however, we had such a great time that a few rough spots did not matter to us.

Exactly what we had hoped for!
We had a delightful stay at the Beacon House! It was a charming home with enough space for everyone. We enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit as well as being just across a pathway to the beach. The rooms were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed.

Perfect location but...
We LOVED the location. Obviously it's in the perfect spot being right on the water. The views were amazing and we honestly could have rated a 10 star if our stay was ONLY based on the location. Unfortunately, the first night we had a run in with a rat, and the second night we had a total ant takeover in the dining room, living room and kitchen. Santa's cookies were completely black. It was definitely not how we wanted to spend Christmas morning, killing and cleaning up thousands of ants... we actually ended up leaving a day early since the kids were afraid of sleeping downstairs where there was a rat problem and now couldn't have a sleepover on the living room floor because ot was taken over by ants. So, as you can imagine we were pretty disappointed having to pay for a night we didn't even use.

Annual Fort Bragg Family Beach Trip
Location, location, location. The best thing about the property is that it is located basically right at the beach. Out the back door, cross over the bike path and down to the beach. The privacy and outdoor space with fire pit is ideal for family or friends. The house is a bit out dated but clean and everything in working condition. We love it there and plan to visit again.

Great House
The location was amazing! We all loved looking out over the ocean our entire trip. The house was huge and had plenty of space for our group of 10 to hang out, eat, and play games. It looks like they put a new oven on and it worked great so we were able to cook everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again.

Vacation spot
This house was perfect for the entire family. It has a very homey-feel to it, unlike some other rentals we’ve stayed at that feel untouchable. The location was unbeatable and the neighborhood was quiet. The house had plenty of room for everyone and was well stocked with linens and toiletries. We will definitely be staying here again!!

An absolute must experience stay
Everything about this place was amazing. Such a quick across a walkway/emergency access road and down a sandy hill and you’re at the beach from the backyard. There’s a perfect nook to read while looking over the ocean. The master bedroom had the best views as well as the porch outside the master. This is definitely a place you must experience once in your life! And the owner is wonderful and very quick at responding.

How can you beat the location? A sandy beach out right out the door, easy drive to town, walking distance to the park. It worked out well for my family.

Beacon house fun
Wish we would have booked the Beacon house longer than 2 nights. It’s a perfect house to get away. Plenty of room for a big family and lots of room for kids to run around. The walk to the beach is very close. Close enough, we even got my 83 year old grandmother down to the sand and and ocean. Like the reviews mentioned before, the oven does take a little longer to heat and the front stove burner does not work but no big deal just plan ahead. Jacuzzi tub was enjoyed by all as well the outdoor fire pit. Plenty of linens and towels. We were not disappointed. Thanks for letting my family share good times and lasting memories.

Amazing stay! Hot tub, beach, bonfires, sunsets, waves crashing, few minutes drive to anything you need. Took a whale watching tour from the harbor and saw lots of whales! Fantastic trip!

The Beacon is definitely a place to vacation!!
The Beacon is a tremendous place to stay! Not only are you very close to the ocean so the views at sunset are incredible, the amenities such as hot tub, fireplace and fire pit, and full kitchen make your stay ever so lovely. We took many walks on a paved road that hugs the beach and cliffs and that starts right outside the back door! Thanks for the great stay! .

Beautiful views
We had a great time at this fort Bragg house. It’s exactly as pictured. A little dated, and the jacuzzi is enclosed (open the windows to get fresh air). But was the perfect escape from the city. Waking up to those views and feeling secluded at the property was so magical. Would definitely stay again!

Great location and beautiful home
This home is located in a perfect location. Our group had a very relaxing stay. The house is in need of some renovations but the layout of the home and location is amazing.

Great Location and Views!
We loved the location of this home. It is on the Coastal trail (Haul Road), so you can walk north to MacKerricher State Park or walk south to Fort Bragg. The sandy beach that is in front of the property is also a great place for walking, although dogs are not allowed, to protect the birds. The home is comfortable, although the furnishing are dated, which is not atypical of pet friendly properties. We were very happy to be able to have our dogs with us. The TVs are older models, that do not have USB ports so we couldn't use our Apple TV, however the TVs are connected to Comcast. The home was basically clean, although I would recommended inspecting the towels and blankets for stains, upon arrival. The downstairs shower is small, had low water pressure and the water could easily get too hot. The other shower, which is in the master bedroom was fine. The burners on the stove were all working when we arrived, but two went out while we were there. The property manager did offer to send someone to fix them. The oven is smaller than normal, but I was able to cook a 14lb turkey. It needs to be set to "roast" to get above 300 degrees. It didn't heat above 350 degrees, even when set as high as it would go. Also, the timer needs to be on for it to work. There is a toaster oven available for baking smaller items and that works well. For the price of this rental, I would expect a better stove and oven. We were able to make do, however, and cooked almost all of our meals at the house due to the COVID epidemic. We had a wonderful trip and enjoyed our stay in this home.
