A friend and I had come over for the Boston Marathon. The top floor apartment was great, spacious, spotlessly clean and had everything you need. About $20-2$25 in a taxi to get into the centre of Boston but T line is only about 10 mins away. A few local restaurants are nearby and shops to get everything you need.
We didn’t see the host but she replied to messages quickly if you needed anything. Overall this is perfect if you don’t want to pay for the pricey hotels in the centre.
Thanks for the stay and hopefully will return some day to a great city.

Too Restrictive
We rented the entire place advertised as "3 bedroom, sleeps 6" but had to pay a lot extra for 3rd person and were only given access to 2 of the bedrooms. Thermostat was set at one temp and LOCKED. Had to message owner to adjust it and had a slow response. Also, encountered a problem with check in and had a slow response from owner. The place was in good condition and well equipped, but overpriced.

Great visit and wonderful experience.
My friends and wife stayed at Maria's property for several nights. Everything was just as described: Clean, peaceful, and well-maintained. Maria was super communicative, understanding, and polite during the process, always answering questions and accommodating our requests. We had a wonderful time in Boston. I recommend this listing and its hostess :)

Given the Go Round
The property itself was beautifully maintained. Unfortunately, my group was allowed to stay there a total of two nights of the 7 that we booked.
The night that we were hopping on our flight, the host called and said that a leak had sprung in the unit that affected all three of the units in the building and that no one could stay there. She offered us a much smaller unit, which given the circumstances, we accepted. I asked for a partial refund as this had not been what I had booked or agreed to pay for and she claimed she would be losing money as she had to cancel on someone else, so she would not offer that. I could respect that decision.
We stayed at the smaller unit and on Monday she asked us to relocate to the new unit as it was ready but we weren't able to check-in to the original location as it needed cleaning from the prior tenants. That was odd. I thought that there was a leak.
After re-arranging plans and reservations we had scheduled, we packed up and left the unit at 9AM because we needed to be out of the backup location because new tenants were coming in. We arrived at this location (Somerville) and ran into the tenants that were checking out. They had been there a whole week. She had double booked the location and lied about a leak.
After the final checkout, I confronted the host about it and she claimed that there was a glitch in the system allowing a booking from another site; she still claimed that there was a leak that she had gotten partially fixed and it wasn't her fault or problem and she would not make any attempts to rectify the situation as she had already given us a place to stay.

Boston is a thriving city!
We took uber every day to do our touring about spending on average of $30 per day. The property is near dunkin doughnuts so we walked 5 min in the morning for our coffee. While walking about there is a pharmacy, convenience store also a very nice green park. Maria was very attentive but we had no problems so we never needed to contact her for anything. One thing to note is if you plan to do laundry it cost $5/load this was not mentioned in the property notes so merely mentioning so others plan to get quarters. All in all a very nice place to stay very quiet and convenient.

Wonderful, reasonably-priced Boston property.
This rare three-bedroom property gave us just the space and privacy our group needed. The apartment is clean and well-appointed. The bedrooms were each had comfortable beds and were nicely decorated. Plenty of space to unpack and make yourself at home. The living area was comfortable and there were nice touches, such as fresh flowers upon arrival and local guide books for the Boston area. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped and we were met with a nice platter of fresh croissants. While we didn't meet Maria face-to-face, she stayed in contact throughout the booking process, answering any questions I had, and during out stay, checking in to see that everything was to our satisfaction.
The location is convenient to Boston-area attractions, just not very walkable. We relied on ride-share to get around and would suggest that travelers factor this into their travel budget. Moat fares fell within the $10-15 range. While there are T stops relatively close, the rainy weather made it more desirable to avoid the walk in order to stay dry.
I highly recommend this property for your stay in Boston. Thank you for your hospitality, Maria!

Lovely apartment
We stayed here while our daughter ran the Boston Marathon, and it was a very comfortable, clean and airy space. Maria was very responsive and accommodating. The only glitch was that the oven doesn't work, and we had planned to use it for cooking some of our meals. Everything else was great. We would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay!
Maria was wonderful and very responsive to any of the minor questions we had. The apartment was great with plenty of room. Everything was very clean and someone came in twice the week we were there to clean the common areas. There was a bouquet of fresh flowers upon our arrival! Somerville is a nice little neighborhood out of the fray of the middle of Boston. Lots of beautiful historic houses in the area also. I would definitely recommend this apartment. Be sure to note that it is on the 3rd floor of the house. My husband and I actually left in better shape than when we got there :)

Great location!
The property was very nice and very clean. Great location for visiting surrounding areas. Was a very quick Uber ride into Boston. The only thing I would recommend is one more comfortable chair in the living room for extra seating. Enjoyed our stay very much.

Quiet Please
Unfortunately, we were unable to maintain the necessary quiet for the 2nd floor neighbor who works nights and needs to sleep during the day. We came to Boston to visit our grandchildren, and after they visited us twice in this location, it became clear that they were not welcome- they were not "living" there, house rules were not specific to children visits. We moved out after staying only two nights of a 6 night reservation. The owner found a bag of books that we had forgotten but did not bother to let us know. We realized that they were missing several days later and called- she left them on the porch for us. No refund. Very disappointing for the first time in > 10 times using Home Away/VRBO

Very nice apartment
We found Maria to be very helpful and accommodating. The apartment is clean and very nicely appointed. The air conditioning was quiet and worked very wel. It is a bit far away from MIT though, so we had to use Uber for about $14 one way. But we knew when we booked it that it was a few miles from MIT.
Overall we would definitely recommend the apartment!

What a gem...
The entire transaction was very smooth. I was a little apprehensive when I had seen all of the numbers on the photos, but there was no need to be. The location and the place were exceptional. Somerville is a sweet town. We took a Lyft to most places and found there was never any problems. Most restaurants we like to visit are in Somerville, so it was ideal for us. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed. Should I need a place again, while visiting Cambridge, I would definitely stay here. You should definitely consider this place too.

My family and I stayed here so that I could run my first Boston Marathon. We were pleased!
Overall the apartment was very spacious, clean, and bright. Small gestures by the owners, such as leaving us tea and pastries when we first arrived, made us feel very comfortable here. The only reservation, or complication, we encountered was parking. We informed the owner that we would need parking in advance and this neighborhood does require permits for on-street parking. There were very limited opportunities to park in the driveway, as two other cars were sharing the same drive. Because we needed to leave at various times for race-related activities and to plan for Boston traffic, communicating who would park in this shared drive and at what time parking in the drive was acceptable became a bit of an issue. This could be fixed with just a bit better communication or perhaps providing renters with a on-street permit. Overall, we loved the location, felt the neighborhood was safe, and there were several shopping and dining options very close to this home. We’d stay here again if returning to Boston.
