We had 4 families with 8 kids and never felt over crowded. Beds were comfortable, and seemed clean
2.0 / 10.0
We notified the rental company that we may have a late arrival so they provided an after hours number we could text, After a 14 hour drive, we arrived late that evening.. It was very dark, no ground lighting. There are drops at entry my mag lights were very helpful. I found the lower lever sliding glass door unlocked. I notified my daughter about the situation and that I was going search the entire house before they could enter. I was afraid of animals. I searched the home, I found empty beer cans and blankets on the floor in the game room. Now afraid someone was there. I found the home very dirty, the beds were disgusting, blood on pillows, body hair on the sheets . they looked as though just slept in. Bed blankets laying on the floor in the dirty closets next to the full vacuum cleaners not on the beds. Bathtub drain with hair, bugs in the kitchen cupboards, food in the garbage can, silverware. I notified the management asking for clean sheets an told them what we walked into. Their response was no one was on that could bring up clean sheets but would make things right first thing in the morning. There was no mention in the rules about washer and dryer on site, I did not bring laundry soap. I asked management if they could provide soap that night so I could start washing the beds and clean the house. I was told not their responsibility to provide cleaning supplies. We wiped down the naugahyde couches so my grandkids and daughter could sleep. Glad we brought extra towels for the hot tub and car blankets because that was all we had to sleep with. It was 10:50 am the next morning when I called the office asking when someone would be there. The rest of my family was coming. We were there for a family wedding. I spent all the first night washing everything with my dish soap and clorox clean up & continued cleaning the next day spent $150 supplies to clean the 2nd night. The hot tub was filled with leaves and water dirty. After seeing filthy home, I would not let anyone use it. I complained and sent 30 plus pictures to management that I took upon arrival. The pictures showed that this home has not been cleaned for very long time. I had to ask for a refund of cleaning fee and the night we could not sleep in the beds. I should be refunded for the time I spent cleaning that home and refund what I spent on cleaning supplies which I left for next poor soul that rents from Carolina Cabins. It was awful there. I feel bad for the owners of the home!

What a perfect time of the year to visit! The fall colors were stunning! The house was just right for our family of 9 adults and 3 kids -- there was plenty of space and fun things to do. We had a great time.

This cosy cabin nestled in the trees and located beside a creek is the perfect place to relax and breathe the cool mountain air. Great place for family and kids. Be sure to read about the history of the cabin and it’s contents. Will definitely return.

Wonderful!
We needed a place for our family of 14 to vacation together and Majestic Mountain Haus delivered. There is plenty of room to gather and to separate. It is near enough to the attractions we are interested in, and it has all the necessary amenities. My only gripe has to do with the rental company’s fees. The property includes a hot tub, however no chemicals or instructionsare made available to the renter (as they are with other rentals). Instead, there is a $37.50 charge to have someone come take care of it, unless the water needs to be changed, then the fee is $100. Our visit was 9 days long. There is no question that the hot tub will need servicing several times during that duration. This should be included as part of the expected cost of doing business.

Great location and really cool cabin
It is definitely a "cabin". The lay out is great and our kids really enjoyed. I agree with several other comments that it was not the cleanest place we've stayed. But it is a ski cabin. We left early to beat the bad weather back home. Unfortunately, we had rain most of the time that we were there.

Great Ski Trip!
We had a great time at the Majestic Mountain Haus. Just a few things that I want to bring attention to. Some of the sheets and towels smelled like cigarette smoke. Behind the bedroom and bathroom doors were not cleaned. There was hair and dust. The lightbulbs need to be checked. One of the downstairs master had only one of three lamps that worked and the overhead light hardly lets off light. The front door deadbolt was easily opened by my 2 year old. I know not everyone that stays here will have kids but that was something that was scary for us. Again, we had a great time and it’s a great house. These are things that I would want to be pointed out to me as a VRBO owner.

Upon arrival noticed insufficient lighting (esp.kitchen), unclean areas and problems with TV. Spoke with lady @ Carolina Rentals. She assured me someone would be out later. Someone called each day with promise maintenance would be out but no one ever came. Also told to take pictures for housekeeping which I have.
The kitchen poorly stocked when trying to cook/feed 17. We do 2 family trips annually and I'm always looking for houses to accommodate. This house did not!!

Should have known better....
This is the second time staying at The Majestic Mountain Haus and it was even dirtier (during a pandemic) that it was 2 years ago. With this home being one of the few that had enough bedrooms/bathrooms to accommodate our party I had spoken to a rental agent regarding the cleaning practices and was assured that it would indeed be taken seriously. Not only were there enormous dust bunnies/dirt under every single piece of furniture (on all 3 floors), years of dust/dirt on every ceiling fan, brown splatter stains on several of the bathroom walls, hair on bathroom floors we dealt with excessive exposed nails in all the flooring that injured one of the children in our party--we had to put bandaids on a couple just to avoid them. We had zero confidence in the COVID-19 cleaning practices taken to assure our family's safety. So after a long drive, a long unpacking of 3 cars, several of us got to work utilizing bleach wipes to re-clean an enormous house that we were charged an upfront amount of nearly $300. It was fortuitous one of our party brought allergy medicine as 4 of us required it upon staying here. With so many issues we encountered with charges incorrectly made at the beginning of the reservations and not being able to reach anyone at the office when we checked in, we chose to try and make the best of it. Such a shame that this property is actually rented at top dollar in this condition.

Dirty and needing maintenance
First impression is great. Online content leaves you wondering what exactly to pack based on reviews without answer and no updates to content following any updates to the property. All the dishes were gross and needing cleaning. Towels were not placed in rooms and we finally found them still in the dryer. Floors have not been well cleaned in a very long time. There was a thick accumulation of dirt in corners and some bathrooms had hair in the showers from previous guests. Oven badly needs cleaning. Microwave door is falling and has trouble keeping contact. One of the dining chair seats is not secure and seriously injured my mom’s hand when she tried to scoot up to the table. On of the bar stools downstairs is unstable and unsafe. My husband went to sit in it and it fell over hitting my 1 year old. At a minimum the base needs to be tightened to properly secure. Floors are in terrible condition in the living area. There are several nails sticking up that stabbed some in the foot. In other places the wood is splintering and we had to remove splinters up to half an inch from other’s feet. It’s really a shame because the house was exactly what we needed and has a lot to offer but it’s not well maintained and led to a lot of injuries and frustration. We will definitely take another trip but not to this house.

House was large and comfortable for our group of 14. We all had a great time in the rec room so many fun games to play. House could use a deep cleaning surfaces were wiped down and floors clean but many cob webs and corners of all rooms were dirty and needed more then a wipe with a mop. A better repair is needed for the fireplace, tape over the holes on the mantel is not sufficient, smoke still escapes into the room. Chairs and a walking path to the fire pit area would have really been nice. Thank you!

Great house with lots of space and wonderful view.
Great house with lots of space and wonderful view. Daily visits by deer. Parking is a challenge but were able to safely park four cars along the road. Dishwasher was the major disappointment. Detergent packs wouldn't dissolve. Yes we follow the instructions and ran hot water at the sink. We had four generations, seventeen people and the house was just right. Through the large glass windows in the living room we were able to watch the leaves change daily on the scenic mountain view. Trails at Buckeye Rec Center and Emerald Outback were quick access and great walks.

Very poorly maintained
All screen doors were damaged and there was trash under beds and bathroom vanities. Feces on top of toilet seat. Even though it was not a pet-friendly home, we had to deal with fleas and what certainly smelled like dog urine on all bed linens on the lower level. Contact with Carolina Cabin Rentals, the property management, was sketchy at best, continually left messages to report damages as we found them, which were numerous, and rarely got a callback if any. What should be a magnificent home is falling into sad disrepair. We will never rent another cabin or house if maintained by Carolina Cabin Rentals.

Great escape
Beautiful and Serene views in a relaxing community. This home is amazing and my family enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be back to this place and cant wait for our next trip. The bears were a little scary and startled a few family members. The cage that houses the trash isnt bear proof:)

Simply Amazibg
The house was beautiful. Was able to accommodate 12 people nicely. We were wortied about not having AC but it wasn't bad at all. The extra fans helped tremendously during the day when it was warm. And the nights were cool and comfortable for it being June. The hot tub water a little dirty, I'd suggest emptying it more often. There was plenty of utensils and pots to cook with. The seating area at the fire pit wasnt very safe. Every room doesn't have a TV but we didn't watch TV much. The reason I have the house a 4 star is because of the inadequate parking. We have 3 SUV's and 4 motorcycles that barely fit in the small parking area. Also two of the bathrooms had trouble with the toliets getting backed up and the upstairs queen bathroom shower had a slow drain. But over all despite the minor things this house was perfect.

Fun Getaway!
We have stayed at this house twice and look forward to many more vacations here. We have a large group, but it accommodates all of us comfortably. The children are never at a loss for what to do. There are so many activities available for them. We love that there’s a sitting area upstairs for the adults, as well as one downstairs for the children. It is located very close to Beech ski resort. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking for multiple families. During either stay, we’ve never had an issue or problem with this house. We’ve stayed at three houses in the Beech area...and this one is by far our favorite!

This is the second time we have stayed at this property and it was just as magical as we remembered. As long as it's available in 2021 we will be staying here again. Large open residence with loads of amenities to keep everybody occupied. Highly recommend this property if you have lots of people coming.

Family Ski Trip
The house was perfect for all of us with each bedroom having a separate thermostat and all but one had a private bath. We managed to squeeze 3 SUVs onto the small parking area. A herd of deer greeted us when we arrived and came by often delighting the children. Being so close to the ski and tubing areas helped a lot. Our 10-year-old skied for the first time and by the second day was coming down from the top of the mountain. This is a family friendly community. I highly recommend The Famous Brick House Restaurant that is the best pizza ever, and just a few minutes up the hill!

Great long weekend
This property was so perfect. We loved every aspect of it. We did have a MAJOR leak coming from the upstairs bathroom as my brother in law was using it and they came out immediate To check the issue. They weren't able to recreate the issue but it was a huge dumping of water so I would be concerned as the home owner. There were plenty of cooking utensils which was great. We loved it and will hopefully rent again!

Four Days in Majestic Mountain Haus
I work along side the rental/vacation home industry in Destin Florida as an Interior Designer. Often I am asked by my homeowners to update and replace items in their condos and homes ranging in price from $200,000 to $2,000,000.00. I was pleased with the furnishings and luxuries of Majestic Mountain Haus knowing that the owner of this home has to be cautious of various types of groups renting such a large place.
My only suggestions would be to replace the two swivel chairs in the living room as the swivel mechanisms have broken and don't allow the chairs to sit comfortably. one other minor thing to add would be a coffee maker and new electric can opener. all other kitchen equipment was adequate.
we had a great stay and all were pleased with the accomodations. Thanks!

GREAT house. Suits our family well. Close to nth slopes for the children and we enjoy the lights on the slope from the back deck.

The house itself was well designed and had lovely deck areas., but we were very disappointed in the level of cleanliness as this home has not had a deep clean in a while! The furniture is worn and dirty, the floors were very dirty with wide spaces in the old wooden slats that collected trash. The lower oven did not heat properly and was very dirty. The trash can was dirty-had not been rinsed in a while. The BBQ was full of old soot, which caused it the flame up while cooking. The stick lighter went out after one use, and there was no spare. The outside fire pit was completely falling apart! Not a good experience for children when trying to roast marshmallows!
There were no curtains on the window in the bunk bed room. The bath mats and kitchen rug are old and dirty! The ping pong paddles are worn and falling apart. There are cob webs in the window corners that are very apparent in the dining room when the morning sun blazes in. That was the only time we had much light in the place! The entire house is very dark and could use updated light bulbs to improve it! I was disappoint in Mountain Haus and it was definitely not worth $1,000 per night! I would not rent this house again. The owners apparently do not take pride in their home as with some upgrades and more attention to detail, it could be significantly improved!

Great place for large gatherings
Had a fun four days with family in the Majestic Mountain Haus. Lots of things for kids to do and lots of sleeping and living areas. Reason for four stars is the small parking area and some uncomfortable beds. House could also use some updating. Overall though house worked well for us. Beautiful place and location. Thanks for the military discount!
