This place is perfect . The lake is gorgeous and warm water. The house has everything you need. Host was great and Tiffany the tank filled up and alarm went off someone was sent out right away on a Sunday to take care of it. We enjoyed our stay . It's great for boating and swimming. You are close to Bangor and not that far from Acadia . There is lots of utensils and dishes ect. The shower has great hot water and pressure. The beds were comfortable especially the master king bed. Highly recommend . Great location peaceful.

It was such a heartwarming time. We were so lucky the weather was beautiful for a November. Lots of memories from past there and we made new memories.

The camp was cozy; Cooking utensils could be up dated; Was close to Acadia and downtown

Beautiful setting on Pushaw lake. The cabin was great. Had some issues with the septic system and had to conserve water for half our stay. The septic pumper never arrived while we were there, although the system never backed up. Great “cabin” feel and in the peak of fall colors.

The near miss
The cottage is well appointed and in a great location. Tiffany was very responsive as a property manger. There was so much to love about our stay at this lakefront cottage. I wanted to start my review on a positive but also note that a lot went wrong as well. I wish I had known a few things about the property before reserving the space
1. The house does not have a generator, we lost power on the second day of our stay which meant we did not have any running water as well as no electricity. I have never stayed in a home that the water was tied to the power so this came as a bit of a shock. The toilets did not flush and nothing came out of the taps when they were open. It was restored by the next afternoon but once it came back on the septic tank alarm went off.
2 A full septic tank can result in the contents backing up into the house. This meant that even though the water was running we could not flush toilets, wash dishes or bath.
These issues began on Tuesday evening (day 2 of our 5 day stay) the septic tank was emptied on Thursday afternoon (day 4 of 5)
It was very frustrating to have paid to stay in a home without being able to flush toilets, shower or even wash your hands. I have 7 & 5 year old boys and some other troubling issues with the cottage included some nails that were sticking out of the stair wall. There was also a large piece of furniture in the boys room that was not secured to the wall. It wobbled so much that we couldn't leave the boys up in the room unsupervised for fear that they would have it fall on them while trying to get to the toys and books on top.
Tiffany mentioned that she passed all of the issues that we had on to Jill the owner but at no time did the she reach out to see if we were OK or to offer us anything not even an apology. I don't know if the tank was full because we chose to bath on our first day there but if showering or taking a bath is something you can't do in a rental it would probably be a good thing to know. If it weren't so cold out we may not have been so bothered by everything that happened but it was Maine in February so we did spend a lot of time indoors. The location is great, the neighbors were all very nice but the septic tank issues were awful. I probably wouldn't have written this review if the owner of the property had reached out to apologize. It made me think that the issues we had were pretty ordinary and if I had known that before I booked I would have gone elsewhere.

Exactly as described
We really enjoyed spending Christmas here. The cottage was perfect to spread out and let everyone have some space but still spend time together. The cottage is right on the lake and the winter views were beautiful.
Great communication with property manager
The roads were cleared quickly after a small snow. The neighborhood was quiet and well kept. It took about 15 minutes to get to town for groceries, etc.
There is a nice kitchen and bathroom. The two bedrooms upstairs beds are so comfy. The kitchen has everything we needed. The stairs are steep so might not work for people with mobility issues.

Wonderful Spot
Jill's property is exactly as described - clean, comfy, and wonderfully located for a Maine getaway. We made good use of the provided kayaks to explore the lake, encountering lots of loons, and spotting a bald eagle on a couple of the outings. The immediate area has some nice short hiking spots (e.g., Orono Bog Walk), and a day trip to Acadia is well within reach (and, of course, highly recommended).
Tiffany provided us with all the information we needed, and we found everything in the house that we required for cooking and having a relaxing time. A word of warning is that the ceiling going up the steps to the bedrooms is low near the top, so those over about 5'10" will want to take note.
We had a great time at this spot and would definitely consider staying there again.

Excellent Pushaw Lake location with all the amenities !
The photos provided on VRBO are 100% true to life !
This cottage was truly lakeside, clean & completely furnished ! Everything was provided from linens to every kitchen utensil needed to prepare a feast ! The cottage is furnished with sunny day perks : paddle boat, kayaks, canoe, a fantastic gas grill and for an inside rainy day : books, games, TV & very good WiFi. Bedroom views & comfort couldn't be better ! The tranquility & quiet beauty of the Lake made this the perfect location for our family to meet from out of state.
Tiffany was instrumental in making our arrival & check in easy, and her enthusiasm & availability in making our stay painless was very much appreciated ! Thank you for a great experience !

Fun, Family & Relaxation
This waterfront cottage was just what we needed for a summer family getaway. The lake is just steps from the screened porch, which was a perfect spot for our morning coffee. We used the kayaks almost daily and took our dog (with her puppy PFD) on the pedal boat! We saw loons, ducks, bald eagles, and a Great Blue Heron came to feed multiple times right near the property. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly. The house was very clean and had everything we needed for a cookout or making meals in the kitchen. Most of our meals were out at the picnic table with a nice shade umbrella. We loved sitting by the firepit at night as well. My kids balanced their nature time with using our Netflix account and the very reliable wifi. Everyone had enough space to have alone time or be together for games. Within a short drive were all the groceries or restaurants we needed in Old Town and Orono, and we went to the Orono Farmers Market (open Saturday and Tuesday) as well. I can’t say enough about how friendly, accessible, helpful and responsive the property manager, Tiffany, is!! This place is a nice balance between being a cozy camp and having some comfortable amenities like air conditioning and the wifi/entertainment options I’ve already mentioned. We would definitely stay here again and recommend for families, smaller kids would love it as well.

Beautiful lakefront property. Meticulously decorated in old town country fashion. Tiffany was professional and accurate with our questions. Wished we could’ve stayed longer.

Nice waterfront cottage
This cottage is right on the water! There is ample equipment for fun and relaxing outdoor activities. The house is in the middle of some structural changes which, when completed, will earn the "5", but as it currently sits, the stairs to the second floor are uneven and made for some tricky middle-of-the-night trips downstairs to use the first floor bathroom. It also didn't help that four out of five in our family are tall people and we all banged our heads while accessing the stairs.
We will likely return for another respite in this quaint cottage.

Plenty of laughs and R&R
What a wonderful cottage. We received a text as soon as the cottage was ready, it was clean with everything we needed to settle in right away. My boys got to fishing in the canoe and off of the dock right away. We had fires at night, cooked s’mores while looking at the beautiful lake. It was better than we imagined and I hope to be back to enjoy it again. Communication was top notch before, during and after our stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to rent this cottage again. Thank you for a fantastic family getaway

Just what we needed
We had a wonderful time at the camp. It was incredibly clean and cozy-much nicer than any other camp we've stayed in before. Tiffany was so thoughtful and kind and we were so grateful that she offered to turn on the air conditioners prior to our arrival so it would be cooled down for us during our hot July stay. The kids loved fishing and frogging off the dock, the paddleboat and all the great books in their room. We especially loved coffee in the morning and sunsets at night snuggled up on the patio daybed away from the Maine mosquitoes. Having the grill, kayaks and paddleboat to use was great as well. It was just the relaxation we needed!

A nice stay
My family and I had a nice time at this cabin. We have stayed in many similar properties and this was one of the best. Wished we brought a motor boat to explore the lake but we had fun on the kayaks, canoe and paddle boat.

Gorgeous sunsets
I'm basing this review on several factors...Price is definitely one of those factors. With that being said, It is a cozy little cottage that sits right on the lake. It is currently being "updated", but also lacks a few basic things. There were no tools to grill. I had to clean the grill by hand. NO brush, no tongs, etc...There is no washer or dryer to wash clothes. I packed light, assuming I could wash clothes. The price is very high, for what you get. I paid extra up front, because our guests were supposed to bring a dog. When I alerted the owner (Jill) via email, that there would be no dog, she didn't respond and I haven't seen any refund of that extra money. Tiffany manages the cottage and she is AWESOME. I probably wouldn't return to this place, but Tiffany was a superstar. She went out of her way to provide information on places to eat, buy live lobsters, etc...She even made sure we had all the tools to cook and eat lobsters.

Perfect Lake Cottage
This is the true Maine lake camp experience! Despite being lined with cottages aka camps, Pushaw Lake is very quiet and great for kayaking & canoeing. The cottage was very clean and had everything needed for a relaxing stay. The outdoors amenities (kayaks, canoe, paddle boat, hammock & fire pit) were used several times every day. By local standards, it was warm and the A/C was appreciated. We cooked lobster every night and couldn't have picked a better place to stay for a relaxing getaway. Tiffany was superb and expertly handled our check in!

Absolutely beautiful lake. Great place to unwind, unplug and relax.
We stayed here with our three grown children and we totally enjoyed ourselves. We all got back to nature and had a chance to just relax. Loved watching the sunsets, listening to the loons fishing from the dock and kayaking. The camp was spotless and very comfortable for our family. Tiffany was was super helpful and very friendly. If you are looking for a place to unwind and get away from it all , we highly recommend this camp.

This camp is actually nicer then we expected. It is a Maine camp, simple rustic and very comfortable
We had a great week here in August! I am originally from Maine so understand what a Maine camp is all about. If anything, I think we were all pleasantly surprised that it was better then we were expecting. Tiffany the lady that keeps things running and checks you in and out was super! We had great repore from hello till goodbye. The pictures dont show this camps comfortable living area as well as it could. I have much better pictures. The sunsets here were beautiful, the hammock was lovely, and indeed there were lots of loons hanging about. We enjoyed the firepit at night! The cabin had everything one needs to get through a week. We had our entire extended family over for a barbacue and it worked beautifully as we all ate outside. I even had equipment there to baķe a cheesecake. Grassy area in the front with a picnic table. A dock to walk out on. A canoe. Theres not a sandy beach but a nice walk in slope. We went kayaking, made smores in the fire and had coffee overlooking the lake in the morning. The only downsides were that the upstairs is a bit awkward. The stairs are a bit steep and the bedrooms although both very nice and comfortable have no doors so not much privacy with two grown children with us but we managed. There is a day bed on the cute sun porch where one son slept and a pull out couch as well. The shower was nice with good water pressure. As this is a shallow lake there was alot of grassy weeds until you get out a ways but we just took our rafts out past that to swim. Cabin was located in a nice little cove and close drive into town. I chose Pushaw as wanted to be close to family. The neighbors on both sides were nice. Joe on the one side gave us some wood and let us borrow his air compressor to blow up our rafts. The other neighbors left us to ourselves but waved and were friendly. All in all we had a great week here. If you like simple and rustic but still want to prepare nice meals and have a glass of wine ( or two), this will fit your needs. If you want a house on a lake with all the modern conveniences such as a dishwasher maybe not but we had everything we needed to have a great week. Thanks Tiffany for everything! If you want some of my pictures to use please let me know!

Worn out old dump that badly needs new investment
The first impression when you pull up is the siding rotting off the front. Once inside you realize that the rotting wood is also structural as everything leans towards the middle, due to what I guess to be termite damage. The floor and stairs flex enough to make you wonder whether this place will stay standing in a storm. The "yard" is a collection of holes and old tree stumps making it impossible to walk around without tripping. Our 8 year old son got his leg stuck in a gap between the rear of the house and the stairs (we had to pick up and move the stairs to fix the safety issue)
Amenities wise, there are none other than wifi and a tv. In the kitchen, the pans and everything else are greasy and dirty (the silverware drawer is covered is sticky goo) with no room to put hardly any food. The fridge was set at max cool, but barely kept food cold. Same with the freezer, so don't buy any ice cream because it just melts. No dishwasher, no disposal. The water heater sits in front of the door to the bathroom. Interior design? Sure, if you consider painted wafer board and cardboard stapled up as a wall design. The torn couch cushion was covered with a dirty sheet. When you sit in one of the 3 table chairs you bottom out. The beds are old, uncomfortable, and creak with every move. The blankets smell like old blankets. AC? No. We bought 3 box fans to try to cool the place off, so don't expect to sleep in comfort unless you enjoy sweating to sleep. They sell this place as quaint "like grandma's" place, but it is just old, dingy, and worn out. A broken sewer pipe out front emitted sewer gas which depending on the wind you could smell. We were also warned that the septic tank alarm could go off but to just call and they would come pump it. Gee, thanks. The grill gas ran out the 2nd time we grilled and they told that we were responsible to go out to buy a tank of propane. (Buy a spare tank cheapskate! Even if all guests grilled out everyday for the season you probably won't go through $100 of propane) They did specifically mention how they generously provided 2 rolls of TP. We stayed at another place down the road last year (and another at Thxgiving) and couldn't believe the contrast between how nice that place was kept and how bad this place is. We left a day early because the place made us miserable. Neighbor Joe was the highlight. Offered us firewood, very nice to our kids. There are much nicer options on Pushaw by people who take pride in their properties

Great getaway!
We stayed at this rental for a week while visiting for my sister-in-law's wedding. It was clean and comfortable. Tiffany was excellent and even unlocked the door for us when our husbands went out for the day (taking the key along with them!). There were defiantly charming features about the home, and it is more spacious then the pictures give credit for. The new remodel will do the house justice as the upstairs is in need of a facelift, having no doors on the bedrooms made things interesting. Overall we had a great experience! Thanks again!

Great Escape
This property brought back a lot of memories of the cabin I used to stay at every summer when I was a kid in Newport, Maine. It's quiet and peaceful, and it was a nice relaxing get away. We fished off the dock every day and caught mostly sunfish and perch. Unfortunately it was raining for most of our trip so I wasn't able to read a book on the hammock like I had hoped or take the canoe out around the lake, however I was happy they were provided because I would definitely have enjoyed using both. The house is 15 minutes away from town and everything we needed in town was within 1/2 mile of each other. We're planning on staying here again next year!!

Serenity and Peaceful
the property is not new by any means and it has that rustic cabin feel which is just what I was looking for. It was very peaceful and clean. The towels and bedding was fresh and the little TV was all you needed. Me and my father had a great stay. A few things they could provide that would have really made it perfect are small but when we needed them it seemed like a big deal. :) We bought a lobster but did not have claw crackers. the can opener did not work so that was interesting trying to open a can. we did have fun with it though. I had 2 graduations to attend but no hair dyer. Air drying takes a long time. There was no salt and pepper. I didn't realize how much salt and pepper I use and how much I would miss it. There is no Tupperware for left overs so we had to throw food out. There were 2 bigger things that definitely need to be fixed. The shower does not drain and the stove settings. The low is high and makes it very difficult to cook on. Overall I am glad we stayed here and would probably rent again but would be extremely happy if these items were there the next time. :)

Quaint little cottage by the lake
we enjoyed our stay at this cottage. The house was very clean. The home manager (tiffany) was very accomodating and wonderful. The neighbors were very friendly. The lake was so beautiful. Very close to Bangor and a short scenic drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Would definitely visit again and recommend to my friends.

Clowns on Pushaw Lake
We were staying on Pushaw Lake while attending a convention in Bangor. The cottage was exactly as described with all the amenities expected at a vacation rental. Linen service was a plus. Cleanliness was appreciated and maintaining it was easy. I loved the decor and the knotty pine woodwork. As four adults we had plenty of room and many options for separate space. The lake was peaceful and we regretted not leaving time in our schedule to fish or boat around lake. We would have liked the use of a gas grill as we really didn't have time to use charcoal cooking. The neighbors were a hoot and helped out on that issue. We saved money not using he convention center and got to sit by a fire and really relax. Great experience Thank you.

Wonderful Stay
Our stay at this property was wonderful. The lake was beautiful, the breeze blew into the bedroom every night and the cabin was clean. It was far enough away from it all but close enough to run into town for a meal or groceries. The lake was quiet on the weekdays and not very much busier on the weekend. The caretaker was wonderful and polite, giving us a great intro to the cabin.
We loved everything about the cabin (including the neighbors) and would gladly stay there again.

Quaint, relaxing, retreat!
This is a typical Maine Camp! Not being from Maine, I didn't get it at first. Don't expect the Hyatt, its more like Grandma's house. Eclectic, charming and interesting things from the past, from an old fashion typewriter to a deer head with sunglasses! The camp has just about everything you need to stay and enjoy yourself. All you need is groceries! We slept every night with all the windows open so we could here the loons and the lake gently swooshing. Amazing, honestly the must restful and peaceful sleep I've ever had.
The kids literally woke up every morning, ate breakfast and jumped in the lake! There's no sandy beach area- its Maine! Most coastlines I've seen up there are pebbles! The camp is only a few feet from the water and its very shallow. There are life jackets there to use, but the neighbor next door gave the kids some nice ones to use during our stay! He even gave us a piece of wood for the fire.
If you want to use the gas grill you have to go into town and fill the tank.
BRING BUG SPRAY FOR THE EVENING!
Overall a wonderful peace vacation! The kids and us really reconnected as a family!
Oh, and the property manager was very kind and helpful!

ok
the cabin was beautiful we had a great time
the only complaint is that the add says sandy beach area
well you have to go elsewhere for the sandy beach area cause all
you will find here is rocks there is no sandy beach at this water front cabin
they should exclude sandy beach from their add.

We arrived to find a lake camp that lacks for nothing! While it didn't have tv, we didn't miss it a bit! Just down the road is a supermarket with a video rental kiosk - so IF you need to, movies can be had (dvd player in cottage) - but we didn't have much interest in anything but the peaceful surroundings, home cooking and good company. The property manager was simply a joy to deal with and the cottage is super clean with all the "odds and ends" to make life easy. Even the beds were super comfortable! If you're looking for true relaxation - this is the place. We'll be back again.
