I chose this location based on it being billed as family-friendly, and it totally delivered on that aspect as far as the onsens/public baths are concerned. I (mother) was traveling with my son, and I really wanted him to have that experience, and it felt safe and comfortable for him.
The provided breakfasts and dinners were definitely fancy and authentic, but for first-time visitors to Japan, a little overwhelming to us with the novelty of it all. But, if you're looking for the real deal, and healthy and unique and adventurous, this is your place!
The most disappointing part of our stay was the incessant motoring that cycled the entire night for the air-conditioning just outside our window. We tried to play white noise on my phone to cover it up, but it was just too loud. The property should really look into an A/C that doesn't need to cycle up a motor constantly. It really hurt our sleep.

Authentiek, rust, de warme baden en vooral het fantastische eten waarbij geweldig goed rekening werd gehouden met een vegetariër. De bedden sliepen heerlijk! De busservice was ook heel fijn.

The semi-outdoor hotspring bath inside the hotel room was superb. The room was very comfortable, spacious, clean, and quiet, with nice decor. The room overlooked a beautiful garden. The Kaiseki dinner and breakfast were served in the room and were very delicious. The hotel staff provided excellent, warm and personalised service. The hotel was located a distance away from downtown Himeji, near a forested area with beautiful scenery. Free shuttle bus service was available. This hotel was a perfect place to relax and rejuvenate the body, mind and soul. Our experience was wonderful.

Loved the outdoor n indoor onsens. Service was friendly and the the meals were wonderful n delicious. The van transfer was very useful.
The dinner rooms were not soundproof. So while the meals were truly enjoyable, other diners were very noisy.. eg an American couple dining in the next room, were speaking very loudly and non stop, disturbing the peaceful surroundings /ambience.

It was a delight from the moment you are picked up by the shuttle to when you leave. A full experience of feeling cared for and pampered. The staff were exceptional especially the delightful young man who carried our suitcases, patiently explained how it all worked to being the most attentive server of food and drink during the symptoms banquet dinner in our own private room. The outdoor pools were heavenly with hot springs water and beautiful natural surroundings.our beds were very comfortable and we slept exceptionally well. A slice of heaven in Japan.
Nothing all was excellent

Lovely ryokan in the middle of a quiet Japanese forest. We had an amazing dinner and breakfast, and enjoyed soaking in the natural hot springs on the hotel property. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to take a quiet break from the world and just relax for a few days.

What a beautiful place! Wonderful service at reception and at meal times. Being picked up at our room to be escorted to dinner felt fabulous. The outside hot spring even had the option to be private which was a rare experience. The dinner was outstanding. We will be back.大変お世話になりました。

Service at the ryokan was excellent. The meals were very good, we had both the set breakfast and dinner. I enjoyed both the private bath in the room (depends on the room that you book) and also the private family baths outside (first come, first serve). The room size was very generous and the amenities were very good; I felt it was good value for money.
This is just something to be aware of, but the inn is not very accessible via public transit. We missed the shuttle bus due to travel delays and needed to take a taxi. Also, the room walls were not that thick (we could hear children in the next room)

japanese atmosphere, great dinner & breakfast, staff, massage
bus to Ryokan is a long ride, return by shuttle is very convenient

Outdoor onsen. Private onsen also available free of charge.
30min drive from Himeji Castle. Quite countryside
breakfast kind of basic
4.0
The onsen. The secluded location in the hills. The kaisaki dinner.
I prefer beds to futon. No baths in room. Got to pay extra for using the onsen. No shops nearby. The breakfast felt not substantial enough. Could have added some eggs. Overall felt a little expensive

Incredible good and tasty japanese menu
Nice rooms with a lot of charms
Nice shuttle service
A bit far from center location/Himeiji.

A genuine Ryokan experience and staff that went out of their way to help make the stay enjoyable.

We were trying to experience the real Japan and this checked all the boxes. Beautiful location and a great traditional Japanese meal consisting of many small dishes.
It's important to realize this is a destination in and of itself for relaxation. Not a home base for adventures elsewhere. Between the traditional Japanese experiences, you need to be able to entertain yourself.

Quiet, peaceful, traditional ryokan with natural geothermal onsen
Loved everything about it
