About this house rental
"Halt's Away" is the perfect place for your next family vacation! Only 2 blocks away from the ocean makes it easy to spend the day on the beach and return to a quiet comfortable home to relax and wash your worries away.
The main living area is on the second floor and has an open floor plan encompassing the well equipped kitchen that provides a coffee maker and Keurig for those specialty blends in the morning. If you want to curl up on the couch with a blanket after a day in the sun to watch a movie, the living room features and electric fire place for a cozy feel and to get the chill out of the air. There is a bedroom on the main level with a Queen bed, TV, and a full bathroom.
The upstairs or 3rd level has a bedroom with a pyramid bunk bed (Full bed with a Twin on top) plus a full size futon, TV and a full bathroom. The primary bedroom has a King size bed, TV, walk-in closet and a private bath. There is a small deck off the primary bedroom to take in the island views and watch the morning sunrise. "Halt's Away" features a garage (without a remote) for guest use with some beach toys inside, and provides a charcoal grill and a spacious outdoor shower.

We enjoyed our stay in Halt’s Away beach house! It was a short walk to the beach and a quiet neighborhood. The house was very clean with plenty of towels and necessities. We enjoyed sitting on the front desk each morning with our grandchildren. Many memories were made! We highly recommend this beach house.

There were some electrical problems at check in that left us with no lights or TV in the living room for the first 2 days but it was all handled on Monday morning. The neighborhood is very nice with a short, easy walk to the beach. Well-stocked kitchen and nice bedding.

This is a very comfortable townhome and very welcoming. It was so nice to have three bathrooms! The beds were comfortable. The beach is truly a short walk away, about 2 blocks. The stairs to enter the property might be difficult for someone with walking issues. No problems for us.

We had a blast at Halt's Away. The rental was clean and had pretty much everything we needed. The drip coffee pots were under the counter and someone had put it away without cleaning it out so we had to clean it before using it but that was the only thing I saw that needed attention. Having the garage was great because we just pulled our wagon in there when we returned from the beach and did not have to haul things up and down the stairs each time. The beds were comfortable and the distance to the beach was not bad at all. We could easily get to the beach and back.

We had a wonderful weekend at Halt's Away! Great location and a good space for our group of 3 families. Plenty of room for everyone to sleep (3 adults and 4 grown teenagers). The pullout in the bunkroom was not so comfortable and the king bed in the master was drooping on one side, but no overall complaints. The kitchen was well stocked with pans and utensils, and every appliance you might need. Not much pantry space for storing all the food and snacks we brought but we made due. The kitchen sink was not installed well and you have to be careful not to let water go down the sides. A ping pong table was listed, but the "basement/garage" was very musty and table was unusable. The outdoor shower was also not well kept up. Overall a clean place, just needs a bit of love.

Decent family house! My only concern was the front rails on the porch was loose and should be secured for children’s sake. The tub on the first floor didn’t have a tub stopper which would have been nice to take a tub bath in that bathroom. The pillows could use a wash. All coffee mugs were dirty in the cupboard and needed to be re-washed. It was probably in the dishwasher and was not turned on but put away. We hand washed all drinking glasses before we used them which is unfortunate. Condiments were plentiful which was nice. Despite paying for the beds to be made up, they were not and was told that’s because of Covid, If that’s the case they shouldn’t offer that service. I had to ask for a refund. Overall, it was a nice stay.

Great beach getaway.
House was very nice with a lot of space. In a great location for easy beach access and bike rides to shops and great restaurants. Close to Fort Fisher where you can take a short boat ride over to southport for a fun day of shopping and dining. Close to Wilmington and some great breweries.

Comfortable house, great location
We were pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness of the house. Perfect for 4 adults and a baby. The location was fantastic, a short walk to the beach. Kitchen was well equipped, and we loved the grill. Only issue was wifi (we were given two different wifi login passwords, but neither were correct). We had requested a crib, but was delivered within 2 hours of our arrival.

Missing our Beach House Already
This was our 1st visit to Wilmington Beach and renting through VRBO. We were extremely pleased with the house (easy walk to beach, clean, and plenty kitchen items & beach toys for the kids). Phone app made check-in extremely easy and provided a lot of good information about area restaurants. Can't wait to return!!

Convenient to beach, great amenities
The condo was perfect for our family. The kitchen had every possible appliance with pots, pans and utensils for every coins needs. One things I’d change would be a bigger table for our large family. Also, the master is on the top floor... lots of stairs from the ground level. The advertising didn’t mention the ping pong in the garage m( a big plus) and the full outside shower with hot & cold water( an even bigger plus.) We highly recommend this property.

We drove across country to vacation for 2 nights w/ our son & family, but spent most of the time cleaning & washing bedding / blankets.
Upon arrival it was clear that the home HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED since the previous guests. STRIKE ONE!
Beds weren’t made, floors were disgusting, mirrors were smeared w/ the previous renters’ toothpaste, there was trash in the garbage & the home smelled like fish.
We immediately called Bryan Real Estate, both reg & emergency #’s, & sent a desperate email. NO response at all.
There was no choice but to clean. We had (4) adults working on the place for 4 hours – bathrooms, floors, kitchen, everything. The washer didn’t work well so washing bedding/blankets took 2 days. And you should have seen the mattresses under the sheets – GROSS!!
I must tell you the condition of the home even if it HAD been cleaned was terrible. STRIKE TWO!
The rugs & mats are worn, the carpet has stains everywhere & we wouldn’t even let the kids sit on the couches without sheets on them as the fabric was SO dirty.
Yes, things happen. We get that. But Bryan Real Estate was COMPLETELY non-responsive. STRIKE THREE!
They NEVER responded to our calls/emails. After we vacated, I called three times to lodge a complaint and NEVER got a return call. Days later we found an email in our spam folder with a mere $125 credit.
We’re in the middle of a COVID pandemic. We had 3 small children with us & a pregnant momma. Our son is in the USAF & rarely gets time off. And $125 with NO phone call was the best they could do?
This company is a pathetic excuse for a management firm and they should be out of business.
We are troopers. In spite of the horrific situation, we put our game face on, dealt with it all and enjoyed a day and a half at the beach. It’s just such a shame that we spent ove

Wonderful place to stay!
Halt’s Away was the perfect beach home accommodation. The kitchen was fully stocked with more than everything we could possibly need during our stay. The rooms were well appointed and we all slept soundly. We appreciated the professionalism and diligence in the company you hired to replace the A/C unit during our visit. Even though this was an inconvenience, they made sure the work was done with the least amount of interruption to our day.

Loved the location!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay while in Wilmington, North Carolina! We didn’t really use the kitchen much since there were so many great restaurants to eat at but it was great having a K-cup coffee as soon as we got there after a 6 hour drive. Loved the proximity to the beach!
