We had a meal at night which we paid for. It was excellent and the staff were very good. We also had a breakfast in the morning which was a full english breakfast which we also paid for but it was excellent. the staff was very good and friendly
There was nothing that I could fault it for

Clean pleasant and convenient

The bed was the most comfortable bed I have slept in!! Nice and quiet, disabled room, easy to get to facilities.
Shower over bath needs looking at given it's a disabled room

stayed in an executive room & the bath was excellent (which was a good job as the shower didn’t work).
mattress was too soft, pair of someone else’s jeans had been left in the wardrobe & shower didn’t work at all just a trickle came out.

Lovely big restaurant and we enjoyed our evening meal.
We found our mattress very soft and we seemed to both roll into the middle!

Kids play area was a nice facility (once the teenagers had left) and the main reason we chose this hotel.
One particular member of staff did try very hard and was most apologetic about things, but there was very little he could do as so very short staffed. Really felt sorry for him as he tried so hard but the odds were clearly stacked against him. Such a nice chap as well and you could see he really wanted to do a good job.
Plenty of hot water for showers/baths which was great.
Oh gosh, where do I start.
Dirt -
Carpets both in the room and out on the landings were filthy, hairs and grime in corners of the bathroom tops, mould in tile grout, cobwebs all over the walls and the kids beds that were roll out trundle type beds had clearly been stored under the main beds fully made up as the covers were covered in dust and fluff. Gents toilets in the restaurant had urine all over the floors, absolutely stank and were dangerously slippery. Whole place looks very tired and worn out and I'm not judging that, there's just simply no excuse for dirt.
Maintenance issues -
The safety restrictor on the window was held on by one screw that was nearly out and there seemed to be a hole under the carpet as you walked down towards the room. Lights in the room were intermittent, sometimes worked sometimes didn't, taking the key out of the activation switch often seemed to resolve it so didn't worry too much as we weren't staying long.
Food -
Very hit and miss, some we had was okay but some was shocking, for example a very chewy poor quality steak that had actually been sliced open by the kitchen to check how well done it was! Burgers tasteless and breakfasts were very low quality cheap sausages/bacon. Coffee I'm not convinced it had seen a coffee bean in its life as didn't even smell of coffee. Oh, and don't bother ordering a dessert, quickest thing on the menu to get out but 20minutes plus to arrive each time.
Breakfasts -
Supposed to have the option of a continental breakfast or full English. Came down on the first day at 08.10 (breakfast started at 08.00) and found cereal, toast and just one lonely croissant on a plate, we were told they didn't think there were more but they'd check the delivery and see! Promotional pictures suggest different pastry options - ha, false advertising!

location
bed sheets not clean . room very dated . children beds unsafe as no head board just a hard edge of the side table not very well thought out set up

Staff always friendly. Exec room.very spacious. Bath as well as shower.
Mattress feels old and springs digging in somewhat. Furniture falling apart. Doing their best but chronic lack of investment. All needs a freshen up.

Best thing about this place is the helpful staff. Location has pros and cons being close to main road into Selby but oat end of a business estate.
Wi-Fi connection very erratic.

The facilities were great in terms of the bar, restaurant and children’s play area.
We were able to park right outside the hotel.
Breakfast was good and we were promptly served.
We had food in the restaurant and myself and my partner have a mixed review. My bangers and mash was superb but he found his burger disappointing.
Staff were very friendly and helpful both in hotel and restaurant.
We asked to change rooms upon arrival as we didn’t feel ours was suitable and this was dealt with very quickly and we were allocated another room that we were very happy with.
Bath in the hotel room for our child.
Room was basic but clean and comfortable and large.
Wifi wasn’t good. Frequently dropped out for long periods of time.
The room was far too hot which interrupted our sleep - however the hotel does provide a fan in every room.

Not alot to be honest.
Staff were rude, the only one that was alright was the lady on the reception when we checked in. The room was honestly disgusting, it was dirty, the decor was dated and the walls were even dirty holes have been filled in but not even painted over, carpets were grotty likewise the bathroom was grotty. The room was stifling hot, opening the windows we got the smell of dirty bins. Real shame as the place has potential to be great.

We chose to stay at this hotel as we have been here before so we knew were we come. Very clean and nice rooms. We got a room at ground floor as we were travelling with our baby and we needed easy access to the room. Quiet and nice location close to York.
