Lovely location, friendly staff, comfortable bed and nicely decorated room.
Tiny bathroom, no room to put toiletries etc.
4.1
Friendly staff, attention to detail - both in service and design. Was genuinely lovely to stay in a place with unique character.
Breakfast was great and the food in the next door bistro was tasty. We were there to check out some wedding options and will be enquiring again shortly!

Great location, staff were amazing as was the food. The room was clean. All in all it was good value for money.
I didn’t complain at the time, but the extraction fan didn’t work so the shower room was damp. But that’s the only thing!

Nice comfortable pet friendly hotel in a lovely location on the banks of the river Tay.
The price of the stay and especially the cost of drinks are way too expensive. I realise it is the height of summer and that prices have risen for everything but when you can go to a bar just along the road and get the same drink for half the price then there is surely something wrong!

Fantastic location and very warm welcome from the entire team for us and our dog. We've never stayed somewhere so dog friendly. Food was great.

It’s in a beautiful spot overlooking the river Tay. Lovely hotel would highly recommend
Nothing everything was spot on. A lot of hotels say they are dog friendly but don’t really walk the talk. This hotel looks after dogs brilliantly. They were so helpful and accommodating. Every staff member was so helpful!

En suite was very small
Shower not powerful

Location was great. We had breakfast and dinner ar the hotel which were nice. Stayed in the delux double, room was clean and spacious, with tea and coffee facilities.
The building is old so the floor boards creek alot. The room looked onto the main street which was noisy with deliveriies first thing. The weather was very warm so needed to keep the windo open, which didn't help. Drinks were on the expensive side. Found parking difficult partucularly on the Saturday.

We had a large room with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was large and well appointed. The staff was attentive and professional. The food was good. The town of Dunkeld was picturesque and charming.
I don't recall any problems, our visit went very smoothly.

Even though it was just for a night we arrived after a shockingly uncomfortable United flight (even by their rapidly declining standards) into Edinburgh from IAD, exhausted. The drive out was about an hour. The hotel, staff, Bistro (I had the mixed grill which was superb) and location were restorative. The food and service in the Bistro attached to the hotel was first rate, the bed comfortable, staff helped carry our bags up, and we slept deeply and well after a walk by the silvery Tay and round the charming town. It's a family run hotel and we recommend it without hesitation and with gratitude. It's what a hotel should be, a welcoming, warm and comfortable Inn free of bland, generic, corporate trappings located in the center of town (we had room 1 - first in every way - with nice thick curtains which helped with the jet lag).

The location was excellent, the bedroom was clean and comfortable and the food was very good.

I cannot understand why this hotel has so many excellent reviews. Either people are too nice or they just don't know how a decent hotel room should look like! Had it not been for the service which was pretty good with the staff literally doing their best, we would've left the second we saw the room. The photos on the site are absolutely deceiving, the room turned out cold, smelly (are you even allowed to smoke in the room nowadays??!) with an uncomfortable bed, freezing bathroom, and overall tacky decoration which seemed to be trying to distract from the overall dinginess. I understand the building is old and needs some repairing, but you cannot advertise it as a 4* luxury hotel and charge an extortionate sum of money (£210/night) just because you added some modern lights and randomly put some gold paint on the walls. If you are visiting Dunkeld, please save your money and stay somewhere else!!

Breakfast was good. Staff friendly.
Bistro and room were not warm enough. Shower was either freezing or scalding. Dated decor with some sort of dog obsession. Wrong food brought for dinner. Long wait for replacements. Undercooked steak pie, over salted potatoes, poor wine.

the dog friendly property is very dog friendly the staff were exceptional to accommodate us
water pressure in room 7 was awful you could not run a bath and the shower was a dribble

The location by the river was fantastic. The staff were attentive and informative. The food was great with plenty of vegan options. The bed was comfortable. Very very very dog friendly hotel with treats, bed, bowl, towel and toys provided and a doggy menu available. Dunkeld is such a lovely place with lots of independent shops. We also got an upgrade to a river view with it being my birthday, plus a card from the team - thank you!
The shower could be better (I know it's an old building but we've stayed in older with better shower facilities and water pressure). Breakfast starting at 8 is a little late for us as we're early risers.

lovely warm atmosphere as soon as you enter. staff very welcoming . we never had to look for assistance, staff super attentive

The decor was great all over, especially the restaurant and lounge, very sumptuous, spent the evenings in the lounge chatting with other guests over a very nice malbec. Loved the view out the restaurant windows, the misty trees on the hill across the river. The bar/bistro was very comfortable too. Breakfast and evening meals were delish. Staff and service were fab. The location is great, short walk from the train station and lots of beautiful woodland and riverside for long walks.
Opening the room door needed two hands, one for the lock and one for the handle. No biggie but was tricky with a pint of water, book and phone in hand.

Cute room, great food. Great staff.
Shower was poor due to low water pressure. The bed was not firm enough for us

a little tired round the edges
