Olivia on reception was fantastic !! We asked for a quiet room in a quiet area and she was happy to help
The music at breakfast was far too loud, and meant both my wife and I struggled to hear one another.

Whole experience was amazing!
Nothing at all could of made this better

Comfy bed, friendly and helpful staff. Early checkin (cost £25) meant we could relax and get ready before the wedding. Hotel decor was very tasteful, spacious and comfortable. Option to use the spa/pool etc but unfortunately we didn’t had time.
Shower in room was awful, hard to switch in and no pressure. Considering it was a suite and cost £250. Did advise receptionist on checkout so maybe they will fix.
Breakfast was a good selection but not as warm as it could be.

The hotel was lovely and very relaxing. Staff were always on hand to meet any request. We had dinner one night in the restaurant and the food was exceptional.
Pool area was probably one of the best we have had, both the indoor and outdoor pool were excellent and the sauna & steam room were spotless.
Loved the out door hottub and even had one inside to cover the overflow.
One small issue was the pool had restrictions on times for children, but we do understand these things.
Overall, it was 10/10
Well done to everyone who works here, it was exceptional.

Rooms.were good. Staff ok
Wedding gazebo too close to bedroom. So noisy and unable to get to sleep. Music stopped at midnight but then noise from the party goers till I phoned the night porter at 0130. Didn't get informed re Wedding and proximity to rooms , 1 in particular, until a couple of days before. Couldn't even cancel as would have had to pay full cancellation fee! Not great in Wedding season! No compensation given!

The staff were friendly and extremely helpful.
They went out of their way to upgrade our room and make our stay very memorable.

Lovely choice for breakfast and a useful restaurant for afternoon tea and evening snacks. Very convenient, apart from a closure on the A12, but nothing the hotel could do about that. Close to main roads, lovely countryside, friendly and very helpful staff - what more do you need?

The location was excellent and easy to find. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and my room was above expectations. This hotel will be my first choice when I next come to Essex to stay.

Staff were freindly
Breakfast was good but replenishment did not happen quickly
Had trouble when I booked. Booking, com gave an arrival time to be completed and I put 14:00 to 15:00, Check in time was 15:00. I then received and email asking for an additional £25 and It took several attempts to get this resolved, explaining that I intended to check in at 15:00.
Wanted a sandwich, Looked in the lounge and the cafe by the pool. Got told at the pool that the food came from the hotel, so went into the hotel and ordered and paid an extra £3 for the privilage, then on check out discovered that I was also charged an extra £1.06 gratuity.
The indoor pool was very small and full of people from the sports club mebership so did not bother to use it.

Great room, food and spa. Staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Beautiful building and surroundings.
Very expensive for what you get. Food overpriced also. No lift. Never anybody on reception. Waited around numerous times.
4.0
Lovely hotel.
Had a job finding it, but was probably not paying enough attention.
5.0
Location and overall facilities. Helpful friendly staff

The quality of breakfast both cooked and continental was absolutely above and beyond.
The grounds are beautifully well kept and the characteristics of the hotel are stunning with its original features. The leisure spa is out of this world and spotlessly clean. 5* experience all round
There really was nothing I didn't like, if I had to find the nitty gritty, being a larger frame the singular breakfast tables were abit too close for maneuverability in and out but that's the only thing I can think of to put.

Loved our room which we had the luxury double room which was massive!
Good use of the pool facilities even in this wet cold weather - the use of the outdoor spa and outdoor pool offers something different.
The wif-fi wasn't particularly great in our room as its kept disconnecting.
Sat morning - i had choice of choosing whatever breakfast from the list, but the Sunday morning was a strict all English breakfast.
The leisure club was nice, but on a peak day it can look packed and waiting for people to exit spa's etc
Left a message to the hotel that I booked for my wife 40th and asked if they could make it specials with some balloons or some, they said they would arrange something in the room - this did not happen
