I really liked the breakfast and spa, they were really nice.
I had really relaxed day in the spa.
The breakfast has a great variety and it is really delicious.
The hotel gave us a premium room, but the minibar was dirty and the room was with a smoke smell. We request if it was possible to have another room, and the hotel change us to another room. The staff was really helpful.

The staff is very nice and always ready to answer your questions.
About the staff in restaurant I just have to say they were really good taking in account the tools they have. Positive point for the breakfast but the freshness of some products is questionable.
For me two big issues. The SPA has huge levels of chlorine. I ask in the front desk to review this issue. I wouldn't be there again with such levels. The moist is too aggressive even for the eyes just to be inside the area. I don't believe they will review because as they said, it's automatic. So it's automatically wrong setup. The other issue was the noise coming from the fridge or mini bar that didn't let me sleep. I think the answer is not to unplug the fridge as suggested in the front desk. I don't think I will be staying there again. A 4 star hotel?
About the restaurant, they are ready to serve but very expensive food and the quality for a 4 star hotel is questionable.

Breakfast was amazing ,couldn’t ask for more..spa was excellent..room was perfect ,toilet was very clean ..but…old fashion decorating..
Decoration on the standard of the toilet …to old for a 4 star hotel

Breakfast was great. Swimming pool is nice.
Terrace outside for restaurant could be better. Not good shadow places.

Well, the Hotel has all the requirements to be an excellent 4* Hotel. Due to Pandemic I believe, it has suffered a lot, and some services are no longer provided as they should. The room size is good, and the pool is extremelly convenient. The breakfast is also quite good and has a wide range of fruits, pastry, cereals, eggs and dried/smoked meats.
What I mentioned before, about the impact that covid-19 had, we can see on the bellow points:
- Pool service is terrible. We need to order food and drinks from the reception. Then orders are delivered to the pool. The tables at the pool, where people eat, are not cleaned often, so food remains there for a while, while insects and bugs pay a visit.
- Spa/Jacuzzi schedule was not being accomplished. A lot of people staying there at the same time, not following the rules supposedly in place.
- Since a few things were missing from the expected service, staff could be more flexible with customer's requirements (booking the spa on a previous day, for example).

This hotel is located right on the N222 road that takes you scenically along the River Douro so is easy to find. Limited parking at the Hotel however there was plenty of space in the quiet roads alongside. The staff I met spoke enough English to make communication easier. There is a lift to the bedroom floors that has a clear glass side and room 101 was excellent. Well equipped and comfortably spacious (I did request a superior room). The bathroom was tiled from floor to ceiling in marble tiles, Again, very spacious. I liked the efficiency of a set of QR codes beside the bed that provided access to information about al hotel services. I did not use the Spa on my overnight stay however dinner was excellent. There is a small marina area opposite the Hotel that provides a good place for a walk and to get alongside the Douro river. There was space for selling local produce here but it was not open at the time of my visit (early April 2022). Breakfast is self service with a very good choice.
With a continental style breakfast I did not expect to see a container of bacon, egg & sausage. I tried this however the container struggled to keep the contents hot.

SPA is very comfortable, and I was alone both times I went (morning and evening)
Breakfast doesn’t have many vegan options but still it was okay. Juices weren’t fresh

Douro Marina Hotel & Spa is an amazing hotel to spend a few days. It is a simple hotel in a small village but offers you everything you could possibly need. The rooms are comfortable and always clean, the pool is good and my experience at the Spa was amazing. The breakfast has variety for all types of foodies and the main plus point is the staff who is always ready to help.

Had a problem with the room but happily changed it .
Was given a nice room at the front of the hotel, but felt like I was sleeping in the road , windows old didn't lock & didn't cut out the traffic noise which started at 5am,

nice pool - shame Covid has reduced the Spa offer. Good breakfast.
Rooms not well insulated for sound so could hear persons in adjacent room talking.
