Location is ok
Drab decor, dirty, damaged walls and furniture.
Huge dusty cobweb hanging from the ceiling, dust everywhere.
The Older female at reception on arrival came across as a dodgy dealer. Offered me Breakfast at a discounted rate £12 per adult instead of £15… Then charged me £12 for a 4 year old child to eat breakfast buffet when all they ate was a tiny Cereal box
This was a £200 a night hotel. It’s definitely not value for money, £200 is a complete rip off for this 2 star hotel.
£200 for one night doesn’t include the breakfast buffet! Crazy
The staff and food at breakfast was lovely

Perfect location, fantastic rooms and great friendly staff.

Perfektes Frühstück. Am Buffet und a‘ la carte ! Klassisch englisches Frühstück aber zum Glück auch genügend Alternativen.

Room excellent with fantastic bed and the shower was best we had ever uysed.
Breakfast was a little drab.

The request for twin beds was fulfilled with no problems.
The beds and pillows were very comfortable.
Dinner was a really good meal.
Breakfast was amazing with fresh fruit options as well as cereal and toast on the buffet and the option to choose your own hot breakfast e.g have hash browns or beans as a side to eggs.
The bedside light was a bit too bright.
Opening the door was a bit awkward as had to turn the key and turn the handle at the same time.

This is a slightly old-fashioned hotel and I mean that as a compliment, not a criticism. It reflects the history and the character of the town in which it sits. The staff are friendly and efficient. The food was good and occasionally very good indeed.
Very little

We only had breakfast and dinner and they both were very good. It was great also having excellent options nearby in town for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
The beds and pillows were a bit hard for me...but I guess that is a personal preference.

Everything was clean and high quality. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, they even lent me an umbrella when it was pouring down after I'd checked out.
The restaurant and bar staff were fantastic, generally really nice people. Even when an innocent mistake was made with my food order they corrected it immediately.
There was little I disliked. While it's slightly pricey. You do get what you pay for.

Nice room with walk in shower. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Good parking in central location.
Maybe a better selection of bar snacks.

Real hotel
Very traditional with excellent service
Breakfast was exceptional
Room was spotless
Some noise near my window from the kitchen extraction I think
Nothing that prevented my good nights sleep

Interior decoration was in keeping with age of building , like going back in time!
Breakfast as wonderful as was the Badger beer. Staff were friendly.
Bed a little hard but that’s personal preference.

Location was central and close to amenities. Room facilities were great, hot weather there was an air conditioning unit. Shower was great also!
As it seemed to be a busy venue there seemed to be a staff shortage, for breakfast we waited a long while to place our cooked food order. But staff were lovely and friendly and very helpful overall.

We really enjoyed our stay and the staff were lovely - food was great too!

The rooms and the food were great.
We were served by a lady called Christine and a young blonde lad at dinner and another amazing lady at breakfast who were absolutely brilliant. Kind and professional.
We went into the bar to get a cocktail, asked the bar person if they would help us take the drinks through to which we were told "you will be ok" we looked at each other and said that's a no then..... Also we ordered coffees the next afternoon, the waitress bought us an extra coffee out. When we said we didnt order it the waitress was a little Kurt. It is a shame as with a little training with the bar staff it could be a perfect stay.

It’s location was great for our wedding guests
the colour and decoration of the room was very harsh, deep bright green, not at all relaxing. the drinks were very expensive.

The Crown is in a great location in Blandford. By the river, with lots of greenery in-between, you can imagine it being a magnet for tourists and locals alike come summer! (and there seemed to be decent room for resident parking, too). The hotel is vast, with various areas to eat and drink, each with a different feel. The bedroom was olde worlde, and given how cold it was outside, it was toasty warm and comfortable. All-in-all, a nice hotel to stop in with no complaints.
Initial service in the evening was slow with limited care and attention. Tried to order food via the QR code, which didn't work. No check-in's once food had been served (no issues BUT I would have asked for a pud & a coffee, if asked!) Breakfast took a while to come out, for a very simple order.

The food and location were lovely.
The room was very cold. Some money was deducted from the bill, but my elderly parents found it quite uncomfortable to be so cold.

Breakfast was great. A well sized portion for my vegan breakkie. The bedroom, room 6 is a beautiful room to stay in. Absolute quality and compliment drinkies too!
Around 1am there were loud dragging noises on the floor above. It went on for over an hour. Quite annoying not sure if it were ghosts or guests above!
