5.0
Todo! Lo mejor la vista del lago. La atención, las instalaciones muy limpias.

The room is amazing, very comfortable and clean. Heated bathroom floor and big bathtub are a cool bonus. The hotel is very pretty and the lake view is stunning.
Wi-fi is so bad It's unusable. Had a very bad experience with an employee who I asked to call a taxi for me and took almost 1 hour. There were few taxis accepting credit cards on that day, but the problem was the hotel employee didn't give us that information neither did he tell us the time it would take for the taxi to arrive, he simply left us sitting in the front hall waiting while we got anxious as we were afraid to loose our flight back home. He could have told us about the situation or even provided a better alternative to get to the airport.

Your rating is 2/5 to this hotel. the 2 stars refers to:
1. Sonia, a great person that works in the reception in the morning and really really wants to give a good experience
2. The general hotel/room structure that is beautiful
Breakfast was ok, not awesome but not bad. We used the massage service and it was very nice, I reccomend.
This part is heavier than the good one, unfortunatelly this is not a hotel I would come back.
1. The heater of our room didn't work during the 4 days we staid there.
2. The water in the shower gets cold in the middle of the shower several times, a terrible experience.
3. During our stay the water in the shower got totally cold in one period
4. And most important of it all: The treatment of the employees (apart from Sonia). During all our stay and all this problems I shared before, we receive little or almost none help pf the night employess. Imagine! You are in the best room available in the hotel, it's 0 graus celcius outside and your room is cold! They don't help, don't give information and when you call to ask (for the nineth time) what will be done, they hang up in you. They couldn'TSOLVE OUR SITUATION AND ALSO COULDNt put us in other room. The level of the service doesn't follow the high level of the hotel and of the prices. They almost ruined our experience with this terrible treatment.
Also, they have room service but ask you to go downstairs to pick up?!?!?! It doesn't make any sense. And the persons on the phone (room service) were really rude.
In general, these employees attitude (again, apart from Sonia that was great) have to change, otherwise, it doesn't worth the money.

stunning views of the lake and the bedroom was really cosy
the food in the restaurant was awful. Shame as it’s the only thing letting the place down
4.5
Beautiful view of Lago Argentino from the room. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend working with the hotel concierge to coordinate day trips. Given how tight-knit the El Calafate tourism community is, they're able to streamline the trip planning and coordinate directly with tourism companies.
In-room wifi is not dependable - just to be aware if you are planning to do any work from the hotel, though it is stronger in the lobby.
The hotel could create a better vibe in the restaurant area. Given that the hotel is not walkable to restaurants, and many guests eat at the hotel restaurant, they could put more effort into making it cozy and welcoming. Currently there is no vibe.

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is larger then we expected and has impressive facilities. The room was large and had a nice view towards the water. The sunsets in the morning from breakfast were beautiful. We also enjoyed all the meals we had at the hotel restaurant. We liked the location because it was close to town but also outside of the hustle and bustle (though we did have car so it wasn't difficult to head into town).
It wasn't the most comfortable bed we've ever slept on but it also wasn't something that ruined our stay.
2.5
Beautiful location, nice pool area and saunas, rooms offer amazing views of the lagoon, offers a free shuttle bus to town (use this to go to restaurants in town!)
I had a terrible experience with the male front desk worker and waiter that served our lunch. Even though I made the reservation and put down my credit card, they only ever spoke to my male friend (I am female). We both speak Spanish so this was not a language issue. They both kept handing forms/IDs/credit cards/receipts back to my friend even though I was the one who gave it to them. Neither of them even made eye contact with me or acknowledged that I was there. Really disappointing treatment as a woman.
Besides that, the food desperately needs some work. My friend had the pizza for lunch and it tasted pretty low-quality for the price, and we both ordered the Patagonian sea bass for dinner which was so over cooked and dry that we couldn’t eat it.
Finally, half of the gym equipment was broken or missing. Could be improved.
3.5
Nice dinning room, friendly staff and cheap massages. Nice pool with a nice view
Service at breakfast was not really good, the saunas in the spa are switched off so you need to call the reception if you want to use it, it’s a bit annoying. The location is a bit inconvenient, the town is 10min drive away. The rooms are a bit outdated (eg shower was not functioning well) and you can’t open the window so the air gets very stale

Views from lake view room were amazing. Restaurant food and views great too.
Staff were helpful after a problem with my room initially.
Swimming pool was extremely hot so while it was nice and quiet, it was too hot to swim in for any length of time.
I booked a garden view room which gave a view of the car park and was overlooked by the main entrance, but the staff were helpful addressing problems with the room.

location is breath taking
spa is run down. sauna not really working. rooms not well isolated from noise of other room
3.5
Stunning view and friendly staff. Nice breakfast.
The sauna was not working while I was there. The temperature in the swimming pool was not warm enough.

This is the kind of hotel you can stay in and never leave for the entirety of your stay, and still have an enjoyable time. The hotel feels like a retreat from everything, with excellent facilities, beautiful rooms, helpful staff, and great food (breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner). Even should you leave, the staff are always happy to assist with taxis, and there is a free shuttle into and from town. The view over the lake (especially from your room, should you be so lucky) is phenomenal, and provides the wow-factor, which is perfect for an introduction to Argentine Patagonia.

fantastic views from our bedroom, the breakfast area and the bar. Bed incredibly comfortable. Just be aware that the place is a little out of town but easy enough to arrange a taxi.
nothing!!

great location. nice staff
the rooms were incredible hot. without air conditioning. we stayed at the beginning of spring.

The hotel has a modern architecture and has a beautiful view of the lake.
The staff was super friendly and always willing to help.
The place was quiet overall.
The free shuttle were actually taxis you had to share with strangers and their schedules were not very convenient. They need a proper shuttle and more frequent trips from and to the downtown.
The shower in our first room had issues with the handles. The were not able to properly repair them. The next day we tried to use the hot tub and some internal pipe broke, the room flooded and there was even a short circuit and lights went off. We were assigned to a new room and offered a free dessert from the restaurant as compensation, which was not very generous considering what we went through, However, the staff was always super friendly and helpful.

The service in the hotel is fantastic. Everyone here is very kind and very caring (specially the people in the front desk). The rooms are very clean and tidy. We had the lake view room, which gave an amazing Calafate feel to our stay. The breakfast is quite OK, there could be more options to it. The hotel is not located close to the main avenue but a taxi drive costs around 500 pesos each way - which I honestly think is worth given the silence and calmness you get by being here.
My wife and I decided to have dinner at the hotel during one of our evenings. We don't usually have dinners at hotels - but we weren't so hungry and we decided to give it a go.
The waiter who took our reservation (Paula) was fantastic. Very caring and very thoughtful. But once we came in to have dinner, everything changed. Our waitress (who wasnt Paula, unfortunately) gave us one of the worst services I had ever experienced. It felt like we weren't welcome at all, and it made me want to leave the restaurant as soon as possible.
We asked for an octopus and shrimp salad. The octopus had 4 pieces on top of mashed potatoes (they call it potato texture, which is mashed potatoes after all). I know it is just an entree but for 2000 pesos I would expect more. The salad had 4 shrimps, the lettuce was nearly past due and the mashed avocado was definitely past due (it was like a guacamole from the night before). They mention that there is dressing on the salad, which we asked for and our wairtress pointed at the olive oil, balsamic vinegar and salt saying "Yeah, there you have it". Honestly, for 1800 pesos I would expect MUCH more.
All in all I feel terrible in lowering my ratings to the hotel. If I were to rate the front desk team (specially Ariel, he is amazing), it would be 10 stars. If I were to rate the restaurant, I would give -20 stars. Unfortunately, there is no specific profile for the restaurant.
