the room, restaurant and breakfast room was perfect. the receptionist and staff was also perfect.

Bedroom was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable.
All the surrounding areas were clean and bright.
We were situated at the rear of the property. At around 5 am a motorised sound began. Couldn’t identify what the sound was but it was not conjusive to sleep. We were on the second floor and the lift didn’t travel that far. Could be a disadvantage if there was mobility issues. Perhaps this could be stated on initial booking.

Stopped at the hotel following an evening out with friends in Lichfield, chose this hotel due to it's walking proximity (it is right in the town centre) - room was good if a little dated, bathroom 'OK' - clean but again, dated. The breakfast was good in the Darwin Restaurant which was much more modern in contrast to other parts of the hotel. Check in/out quick and efficient.
Parking was poor, the small car park at the rear was made worse by the hotel blocking off some of the spaces with large planters - this means an already small car park was made even smaller. Four of us arrived and there was literally one space left (however there would have been enough spaces if it wasn't for the ones being blocked) - I needed to park in the hotel car park as I had lots of expensive equipment stored in the car and wanted to avoid the pay/display public car park adjacent.

the location
The WC didn't flush properly
The shower leaked
We were only provided with one set of towels
When I raised these issues with reception they didn't seem very interested

Convenient location but not noisy. Tasty bar food and excellent breakfast buffet.

Good location in city centre. On-site parking.
Booked a wheelchair-accessible room via booking.com but was assigned a room where I needed to cross stairs to get to it. Hotel and Booking.com both blame each other for this. Ended up in small cramped room (only one available not accessed via stairs) with no accessible facilities so unable to use shower and struggled to turn my chair in the space..Furniture and carpets all very shabby. More suited to a travelling salesman in the 1950s.

Great location. Helpful staff. Good and reasonably-priced meals in the restaurant. Nice open-air back patio. There was adjacent hotel parking.
The bedroom and the en suite bathroom were too small - I felt cramped. The bed was too soft. The chairs in the downstairs public area were not very comfortable. And considering all this, the room price was too high - not good value for money..
3.8
The comfortable bed and kind staff.
The room was really stuffy and warm, unable to open the windows and the owner had disconnected all aircon. The decor is very dated and tired. The bathroom wasn’t that clean, grouting needs replacing, pink mould around bath handles, shower leaked onto floor creating a puddle.

Lovely hotel. Lots of character. Exceptionally clean. Fantastic breakfast.

It was welcoming, comfortable and in an excellent central location. The food was delicious and the bed comfortable
The air conditioning in the bedroom was not working

Superbly located right in the centre of town with excellent bar and restaurant service and extremely friendly staff
You could ask customers there age and try to put the elderly near recepti

The bed was very comfortable. The housekeeper Pauline was lovely. The breakfast was really good and the staff in the restaurant in the morning were really welcoming and attentive. Good central location.
The heating was on full and it was absolutely boiling in the room and the rest of the hotel. It was loud outside at night but I suppose that should be expected with the location being as central as it is. There were no reading lights or bedside lamps, the lighting was extremely bright.

This is second time we have stayed in the hotel the location is good the rooms are really good yet pricy, the bar and food exceptional, and the lady on reception was very helpful
Bit cheeky asking £8 for parking to say it’s a nightmare to get parking space at times, so ur not guaranteed one and the room we stayed in was so hot I had to get tan out in middle of the night to cool down no heating on and windows were open

Stayed in room 50 in my opinion the room had everything that was needed but they need up dating, an windows looked like they were gonna break

met our needs
paid through booking . com, they had an error there end so young girl on reception made me pay for the room again . which I wasn’t happy with as that money was for my weekend. was resolved a week after my stay.

Our room was clean and the staff were pleasant.
Dirty plates and glasses were not cleared from the eating areas until evening giving a very slovenly look to the place.
I ordered an Aperol Spritz, which is a mixture of Aperol, Prosecco and soda water. The drink I was given did not taste as if it had any Prosecco in it at all.
I was told I had to pay for breakfast. I thought breakfast had been included in the price I paid in advance.

only negative was room was very hot .. they did provide fans but didn’t help much

The location is good with easy access to the town. The staff are good especially those on reception and the bar.
The room was tiny and very, very tired. The bad was tiny and the bathroom was so small it was almost unusable. The shower was so small I physically didn't fit and had to use one at a local gym!
3.8
great central location. super comfy bed
seemed a little understaffed, and we were woken at 8am by staff loudly discussing cleaning rooms outside our door.

The hotel itself was lovely & great location
The bed was comfy and room a good size
Room was very warm and the extractor outside the room was very noisy so did not get much sleep. The shower head also kept turning round to the wall
