Room was great. Lots of light. Nice bathroom. Comfy bed.
Shower in tub. Prefer walking shower.
4.1
Very close to bus and rail stations. Walking distance to city centre. Lots to see and do nearby. The bed and and pillows are comfortable.
There were 37 stairs to the second floor. There wasn’t an elevator/lift. Breakfast wasn’t included which for the price of the stay should be
4.1
Clean, comfy room, welcoming staff. Great location, can easily walk into town.
No lift. No parking. Breakfast not included and independent restaurant doesn't have traditional bacon and full English breakfast.
4.1
It was a room with a bed. No more, no less
The receptionist ladies were kind.
Extremely poor insulation, the couple next door were having some fun and we felt we were sitting next to their bed while they were at it.
We could hear the whole traffic outside. The hotel is located on a double roundabout.
The Hotel does not offer breakfast, which is not reflected in the price.
No lift, so good luck with heavy luggage
The area is kind of desolate, with most of the businesses around closed.

Great location.
Room upgrade…thank you!

Hotel con muy buena ubicación a pasos de la estación de trenes y a 6 minutos del centro de Oxford.
La pieza que nos tocó amplia, más grande de lo normal en los hoteles en UK.
Todo el personal muy amable.
No tenía ascensor

The location is spot on - very close to train station and the centre of town
4.1
Not only right on train station doorstep but also main bus station not only around oxford but outer areas, Blenheim, Woodstock etc. 10-15walk to old & new sites to see, great shopping areas with rooftop restaurants. Within walking distance. Hotel allowed you to leave luggage on arrival/departure, gave me more time to achieve personal goals. Dealt with room problem quickly & efficiently, got someone in to deal with it. Under hotel Sainsbury's express & cafe bar which did breakfasts. Lovely fitted bathroom. Staff approachable, friendly & helpful. Quiet at night.
Small reception area. No lounge/bar area, not a problem for me. Noise only became a problem in morning with traffic . Can't be helped, windows old due to age of hotel, secondary glazing in all fairness fitted. Unfortunately didn't appear to be a lift but staff offered to carry case to room.
Positives far outweighed negatives.
Had to remember to lock room door when going out
4.1
It was very convenient for the city and for train and bus connections
The price on booking.com was more than if we'd booked direct with the hotel...£185 for a small double room without breakfast?!?
4.1
Easy to find, convenient to railway station. Quiet room. Very comfortable bed. Lovely bathroom.
4.1
Great location (especially if coming in by train) and friendly staff. Just what we needed for a short stay. The room ws comfortable and clean. There is a grocery shop right next-door, which is handy.
Parking is offsite and expensive, but that's not the hotel's fault.

I enjoyed my one day stay in the Royal Oxford Hotel, the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful and I liked the atmosphere in the historical building. The room was comfortable and clean.
That one could not open the window was a bit of a draw back, and that there was no lift demanded an extra effort on my. part in handling the stairs - being handicapped after a knee operation. The fittings in the shower were a mystery, one had to read the instructions to be able to understand how they operated, but this happened also in another hotel in which I was staying

Location was perfect for the station and the Thames Path, and an easy walk into town. Reception were pleasant and helpful. bed was comfortable.
Room felt small and there was no comfortable chair, or comfortable seating area in the hotel. No lift.
4.1
Staff were excellent, very welcoming. Also took time to show us the interesting places in the surrounding area on a map.
4.1
convenient location
Noicy due to traffic and manhole covers poorly sealed 🕳️.
4.1
Location, cleanliness, best checkin experience ever!

Spacious room and bathroom. Great Location. The staff are super nice and helpful (especially for parking fee payment steps)
Have to leave our room key every time we go out.
4.1
good size, extremely clean, comfy bed, great bathroom, very friendly and helpful staff, excellent location
could hear next door's tv in the early hours

Great location, comfortable and clean accommodations, super friendly and helpful employees at the desk, and lovely Cafe breakfast if you choose that option. And plenty of tea, coffee and cookies always available. Windows that open (yea!) plus AC if needed.
Nothing to dislike. Hotel doesn't have an elevator.but this was of no consequence to us. We were on the 1st floor and upon arrival, the desk staff quickly paged staff carry our luggage up the stairs.

The breakfast took a long time. Quality just ok. Hated the stairs with heavy luggage. Would not have stayed there if I had known no elevator.

The staff was very nice and helpful.
That was cold in the bathroom. The price was extremly high and the breakfast was not included.

The room we had was cosy, bed comfy and clean. The location was central.
The breakfast in the attached cafe/bar was not good and expensive. Thus we only went there on the first morning

The staff were very helpful and very freindly. They always were there and were willing to help.
I was really surprised how helpful and freindly the staff were. I would definitely stay again

the people who worked there. they were awesome

Close to the center. Clean and comfortable.
The noise from the road. Could do with power sockets next to the bed for phone charging, as opposed to being on the other side of the room.
4.1
The room was great, good size, good price, great location between the train station and downtown. The staff was really nice and it was great to be back in town again.
The room was pretty cold as I recall. I don't think that's the hotel's issue though, just England's, a bit chilly as a country overall. The locks can be tricky on the doors as well, and the stairs can be steep, but I'd go back again so don't hold it against them.
4.1
Good location, very close to the city center. Clean room.
There is no own breakfast facilities, but in a cafe next door, which was too pricy and not great.
4.1
Nice location and spacious room. Comfortable beds.
Had a variety of room neighbours, and the walls were very thin. Not great if you need to sleep for a work trip. Could have just been bad luck.
4.1
close to train station & city, Sainsbury’s downstairs is super convenient
noisy next door/upstairs, could hear their conversation and them showering, rather annoying as it wasn’t just one room next door but also the one above mine
4.1
