Staff were very friendly, double room was small but comfortable and had everything we needed. Bed was comfortable and clean. We were also provided with a standing fan for the hot weather. WiFi was easy to access and had a fast connection. Location is great, right near the train station and bus stops, as well as close to lots of restaurants and cafes. There was also discounted parking in the hotel car park.
Double room was very cosy for 2 people as we had luggage, but it wasn't too much of an issue. When we arrived the bathroom smelt like sewage but this was promptly sorted the following day by workmen who came to sort the drains; however for them to do this they switched off the water and didn't tell us (and my friend was currently in the shower at the time), so I had to go to reception and they put the water back on within 20 minutes. The bathroom did have some black mould in the shower and on the mirror. First couple of nights noise could be heard from other rooms so had to wear earplugs.

Location and room were amazing. Highly recommend anyone staying here for easy access to Derby City Centre. Staff are really friendly.
Nothing, all good.

The evening meal was very good but choice very limited due to the restaurant/kitchen refurbishments being undertaken at the moment!

Breakfast was nice but set up in a small dining area.
Limited evening menu but was enough for us to choose from.

Cleanliness

staff were absolutely brilliant!
2.5
Good location with good adjacent parking
There is considerable structural reconstruction taking place with the use of industrial drills and jackhammers starting early and not finishing until late. We had to ask to move rooms at 19:00 as the noise was intolerable

Location
The carpet in our room was threadbare
2.0
basic but clean , good value for money
not having a member of the public trying to fraudulently trying to get a free breakfast out of us ending up with the police being called as we were checking out stood in reception. Myself and my wife felt very scared and intimated , the gentleman was starting to get very hostile. The staff were great however but never the less not the experience we would have liked.

I didnt have breakfast. The location was fine but the room wasn't very clean. The noise from people in other rooms was not good and disturbed our sleep a lot
The cleanliness
Less noise
0.5
The location.
I was given room 217 at first, the room was filthy and carpet grippers were on show. Mould in the corner of the room, wee on the toilet seat and hair on the bed. I complained to reception and had to pay to upgrade to room 215 as there were no other rooms available of the same standard as room 217. The room was bigger and there was no hair on the bed, but that's probably where the good points stop. The sink was filthy, the carpets are stained and sticky and the walls seem to be made out of paper. 8 other family members stayed at the hotel and 6 were in the surrounding rooms to me, room 216, 116 and room 115. I could hear everyone of them talking, brushing their teeth and their phones vibrating. You get woken up to what can only be described as someone using a ninja blender, doors banging and people talking. There is no way this hotel is a 4 star, it is barely a 1 star.

Arrived and was made very welcome from the moment I walked in. Had a little wait whilst they was dealing with another person who had issues. They remained very professional although not being spoken to properly.
Everything reached my expectation in the hotel. Other residents parking styles left a lack of consideration for others.
3.5
Good size room (made sure we didn't get a cisy room), comfy bed, good sized towels and walking distance to the city centre.
No staff at the restaurant, so we ate elsewhere

Enjoyed our stay, have rebooked for October. The Stuart Hotel, Derby is top of our list for our fortnightly weekend stay if available.
2.5
Reception staff when I checked in very friendly, there were vegan options at breakfast, wifi was stable enough for a video call meeting, really good location for both rail station and centre of town - both within 10 minute walking distance.
staff the next morning on the reception desk and in the restaurant were pleasant but quite brusque and/or a bit unknowledgeable.
The room was a bit worn and tired which is not a problem in itself, but elements of the room were very very dirty. The bedside lamp had clearly never been dusted at all, covered in grime and dust. No hangers in the wardrobe so a pretty useless piece of furniture. Walls are very thin and I could hear everything being said next door, and I don't think they were particularly loud. My room was clearly above/near the kitchen and the extractor fan made a constant loud humming/thrumming sound. It stopped at 8.30pm but started again at 5.30am in the morning and woke me up. Windows are draughty.
It looked liked the carpet in the hallways and on the stairs hadn't been hoovered in months!

The staff were polite.
The breakfast was OK, standard English Fry.
The lumpy Mattress, The noisy stairs, the loud appliance somewhere in the vicinity to the room.

A little dated but that was expected. Only real downside was the poor wi-fi
3.5
Good location for the town, clean hotel, discounted parking right next to hotel. Decent hotel for the price and will defiantly use it again. Nice bar area, did not eat there but food looked good.

Good location, excellent taxi service, comfortable room and parking on site.
Breakfast was a bit chaotic as there was a coach load in and we struggled to find a table.

Staff were pleasant in the restaurant dining area. On arrival at the hotel, I requested help with my bag as I am disabled. Unfortunately, I ended up feeling very uneasy due to the helper stating that she had her own issues. Felt as though I was a burden.
Rooms are very dated and in desperate need of upgrading. Heavily stained carpets, pillows uncomfortable. Big safety issue in the disabled room in the bathroom. The floors are shiny and slippery, these are hazaedous. The shower basin is very worn and offers no support underfoot. The basin leaks out on the shiny floor, creating a large pool that is dangerous, especially for a disabled person. There is no hand rail in the area of the shower. The website states there is a fridge and hairdryer in the room. However, these were absent. The room in general needs emmidiate attention, to rectify hazardous bathroom area.
4.5
It was close to town and in walking distance
The shower need cleaning the walls were a bit mouldy

Rooms too small and unbreathable, floor was not hoovered, I don't recommend sorry.
