Great location fabulous views next to railway station
Breakfast was not a good experience. No plates, cups, eggs or tomatoes, had to wait for all for a while. Most tables left uncleared. Only choice of egg was fried. Clearly a lack of staff, but nobody apologised for wait, which sometimes helps to lessen the guests frustration.

The hotel lobby is lovely and looks appealing when you first enter unfortunately the rooms were rather disappointing, very outdated for the money you pay. Hotels location is great but definitely needs some upgrades. Breakfast was good plenty of choice .
Rooms are very old and feel dark and not cosy.

Beautiful quiet location and a grand hotel indeed. The housekeepers did a great job. Breakfast was lovely. We enjoyed the piano music in the big bar area which had panoramic sea views. We loved the indoor and outdoor pools and I used the gym. Loved it!
The shower was v difficult to adjust the temperature (too hot) and the mattress was a bit lumpy.

Really good location. Perfect short break.
Only downside they didn’t have a steam room or sauna.

Victorian charm and sea views. Downstairs literally looks GRAND. Spa and pool were used and enjoyed thoroughly!
Looking tired in places, needs investment in rooms!

Excellent
We had a wedding at the hotel. I'd requested a room for between 11 and 12, was told at the time this would not to a problem. After a 3 hour drive was told no room till 3pm ! Pre-wedding drunk were at 1pm. I WAS NOT HAPPY.The woman on reception was not helpful. We then were given a room to change in. We popped down stairs for a coffee then we were off back to the room to change. At this point we saw some people we new that were also there for the wedding, to be told by them that they had been given a key to a room which had someone else clothes in.which turned out to be our room. Not good

Location was good, bar area was good
The room 120, was ok, but the shower controls were very noisy when turned on, the water in the shower never got hot.

Location was great with lovely views.
View from the bar area were amazing
Very dated hotel. Unusual colour scheme. We paid for a family room, 2 adults, 2 children. This was not a family room. Was very small. The room had one double bed and one single. The second single was a camp bed at best. Shower does not work properly. Also visited the pool. Very dated and a bit dirty in places. Pool was not very warm.

Very comfortable and friendly hotel on the sea front. Always enjoy staying here…have been coming now for some years.

Great sea views from our lounge and bathroom. Comfy sofa and quite spacious.
The large double bed turned out to be two singles pushed together so we ended up squashed onto one single or miles apart.
The shower head wouldn't stay in position and it just dribbled unless you had it on the pressure wash setting.
Good choice at breakfast but not very warm.
Fire alarm in the middle of the night!!

Excellent location, clean & tidy, lovely views of the bay. Pool & gym were a bonus
The restaurant had a poor selection in the evening and if you went to breakfast after 9.30 the food was running out and whilst they would get more, it took a while and your food was getting cold

Reception and lobby nice
Dated room, noisy drain pipe, looked at a wall, 60's hallway

Good value for money but decor could do with up dating
Breakfast was ok but could have been more selection.

Location was great. Lovely reception and bar. Helpful and friendly staff
Desperately needs upgrading. Carpets tatty and threadbare with tape to prevent injuries. Bathroom pretty shabby with faded and bleach stained blinds.

Fabulous time. We went for my partners 44th birthday and received a room upgrade to a suit with 2 bedrooms that was beautifully decorated with the nicest bath and shower. This made the trip and experience. The staff at reception and in the bar and breakfast room were very nice and friendly. Would love to come back and recommend to all

No privacy due to a shared balcony we were not aware of (no mention in the room description). Staff defensive and unprofessional in dealing with this issue.

Property done it’s job for two nights. The timings for the pools 7am-9pm was perfect for the family. Without the facilities of the pool’s this hotel would be below average.
The hotel is clean and checkin was swift. The receptionist Elaine wasn’t very welcoming.
Lifts wasn’t great.
Bedroom walls thin, could hear the chap next door snoring.

The location and the facilities were excellent.
I asked for a sea view room, and the only.seaview I got was through the trees.. I asked for a twin room and got a small double which looked like 2 beds pushed together

The hotel staff were perfect. Breakfast was beautiful. I feel a little updating might be due in bathrooms and bedroom decor

Only view from the balcony
The Grand Hotel is very old and neglected, in this place time stopped in the 90s. Damaged wallpapers, old mattress, creaking floors, old bathroom fittings and dusty carpets. We upgraded our room to sea view for extra £30 per night because our room looked dark and bit creapy.
I'm sure than 30 years ago this hotel had brilliance but not today and not for this kind of money.

When I called the hotel if they had connection for a electrical car I was told yes in the paid car park connected to the hotel. When I arrived there was no electrical connection for a car. The state of car park was really bad too.
Then when I arrived and asked for the direction of the town centre I was given the opposite direction.
I asked for late check out until just 1pm and was told that cost £25.
The state of hotel was very bad. Room was old and in a poor state.
