Dirty towels provided to room. Cobwebs on light fixtures left doubt about cleaning protocols.

We loved out stay. We've been coming for year and we finally got to stay. The staff were so helpful and facilities were lovely .
3.5 / 5.0
Reception and restaurant staff professional, friendly and extremely helpful.
For a single room it was more spacious than I had expected.
The view from the front of the hotel was spectacular.
The funeral reception was very well managed with an extensive buffet.
The shower on the 3rd floor lacked pressure.
Lack of instructions for operating the lights and technology.

location is amazing
- wall paper rolling off walls in bedroom
- the bed was like concrete
- outside bar for food and drink extremely slow

The location was beautiful with stunning views , the facilities were good and staff were friendly breakfast was nice - outdoor bar was lovely table service was fast and the food from the outdoor bar was good
There was a long wait on the bar Wednesday as they have a dj on and it was open to guests and the public which made it difficult to get served, the outdoor pool heater wasn't working so pool was cold and we didn't have our room cleaned on one of the days we ran out of towels toilet roll and teabags but reception was helpful to replace them. Dinner was a little too posh with not many options to choice from

Beautiful location good facilities. Comfortable room. Lovely outdoor pool.
Extra cleaning on surfaces required in public areas sticky handrails etc. Waste trap in bathroom not fitting and not clean when lifted. Breakfast staff not quite in control on busy morning Saturday 12th need more training. Perfect on Sunday morning.

Amazing pools, outdoor snooker, beach front hotel with deck and patio, beach cafe close to daddyhole plain carpark with walk through forest. Amazing staff Tuesday to Thursday. Rooms were nice and neat and furniture was nice we had a firm bed very clean carpet..
Some hair had escape the hoover and was on the curtains. Bathroom needed more detergent one of the showers were damaged. Food was not as well cooked as could have been mid week but by Friday was amazing. Breakfast selections were vast and adventurous. Was over 30 minute walk from harbour and any local shops and very hilly area.

A slightly larger indoor bar although I suspect that would be difficult

- the beach is directly in front of the hotel so you can visit with ease
- these 2 pool options, indoors and outdoors
- the hotel exterior is gorgeous, it’s almost like being in another country
- the staff are nice and helped whenever I had requests
- bed was super comfortable
- bathroom in the hotel was very modern
- overall room was nice
- they give you unlimited snacks and hot drinks in the room if you ask nicely at the front desk from cute seaside shortbread to water and hot chocolate which is a nice freebie
- overrall nice stay and I would come back, it’s a nice place to stay but it definitely isn’t 4 star. More like 2-3 but that’s not too bad considering we paid 250 each with brekkie included for 4 days.
- we paid for all inclusive breakfast but most days the food was cold, you couldn’t service yourself and had to wait for waitresses to serve you and one day we waited and hour for our food to come. You also have to keep asking them for bread, butter, cutlery, water glasses and more. They would put out tiny quantities and you’d have to keep asking them to top you up which would take ages between customers. A quick solve would be to eliminate seated dining with wait staff and just have a buffet that way customer service themselves and can eat as much or as little as they want.
- the shower was freezing, most days I had to have a cold shower which was disappointing considering this is a 4 star rated hotel
- if you don’t have a car when visiting prepare to walk up steep hills for 15 minutes to get to the town centre. We’d didn’t know this and it was hell bringing our suitcases from the coach station. There’s little to no transport in Torquay which we didn’t know so either bring a car or prepare to pay for taxis to get to and form the hotel or get your walking boots on like we did and hike🤣.

Location and views. Staff really helpful and friendly. Free parking. The menu at the Crescent restaurant was limited but the quality was superb.
Areas in rooms, hallways, doors that are really "tired" and need updating or improvement. Paintwork on walls scraped and furniture showing signs of damage.

Nice room, spacious & comfortable, good beds (& quiet, there was a wedding party going on on the front terrace which we gather disturbed quite a few guests).
Soulless & underwhelming. The building & setting is lovely then you walk into a small reception area with no atmosphere & everything feels a bit poky & disappointing. The Crescent Bar, where breakfast is served, had laminate flooring & felt unwelcoming & soulless. For the money, I’d expect at least a white table cloth, not a dirty floor, sparse staff & a somewhat lacking breakfast (the baked beans were inedible & I LOVE baked beans!)

Fantastic location and gym
Bed springs were damaged and had a terrible nights sleep. Hot water took about 5 to 10 minutes to warm up and didn’t warm up in the morning. Sauna not working. Not as good as when we stayed previously

Beautiful views and really nice hotel from outside and downstairs.
Room was quite dated, and not as nice as we expected.

We choose this hotel as we liked the location, it was near the beach though our room didn’t have a view. The price also seemed reasonable when booking as it included breakfast. The staff we met were generally friendly on arrival and during our stay. We didn’t use the pool facilities though would have liked to have used the outdoor pool but I think this was closed as I think it was considered out of season.
The room we had didn’t have any view even of the gardens as it seemed to be facing into some internal courtyard in the middle of the building. Perhaps this is because we didn’t book direct and why it was cheaper? The room itself was generally pretty clean and tidy though did find a couple of hairs in the bath. There was no mini fridge though they did provide plastic bottles of water these were warm even though the weather wasn’t that warm in April. The tea tray looked a little sad, lack of fridge meant sachets of longlife milk and sachets of Nescafé didn’t make it feel like other 4*s we have stayed in previously. There were also disposable plastic cups instead of glasses which felt cheap and wasteful. The drinks menus/literature that was in the room was dogeared A4 sheets of paper which just looked cheap and tired, would have been better presented in a book/folder. The free wifi was very hit and miss in our room and around the hotel and kept kicking us off which was annoying as the phone signal/data was limited while we were inside. We slept ok but both woke up several times in the night due to the bed not being that comfy as you could feel the mattress springs and it was creaky if you rolled over. We used the iron and ironing board in the room we stayed in which had a burnt cover and took us several attempts to get it to stand up, seems like it needed replacing? The cooked breakfast was nice though the buffet a little sad. The bread for toast was thin sliced bread and didn’t seem to toast well in the machine and the selection of fruit salads didn’t look that appetising as it seemed to be a bowl of prunes in juice or a fruit salad that seemed to mostly contain apples/pears. There were yoghurts and jugs of milk and juice but these were not chilled so were a bit warm to consume, perhaps they’re could have been on ice as we have seen done in other 4* hotels we’ve stayed in.

Breathing views
There was no WiFi connection in our room. We were stuck in the very far end of the hotel. No views, the gardens aren't maintained at the back.
The food was a bit of a rip-off for what you got. It's very disappointing, seeing it's a 4-star hotel.
