I stayed on a Monday night so was able to enjoy the accommodation with hardly anyone else. Superb grounds.
4.5
the breakfast is buffet stay and better than the premier inns, rooms small but do the job shower is very nice
5.0
The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. They even had gluten free biscuits which I have never seen before in a hotel. It was good to know as my sister has coeliac so I was pleased knowing that they at least are aware and think about coeliacs.
Nothing.

Lovely breakfast, lots of choice.
Didn't like that you wasn't able to pay with cash at the bar.

The staff were very good. Polite, friendly & very helpful.
The main house was magnificent.
The grounds were stunning! Very well maintained. Tranquil & soothing to walk around.
The en suite bathroom was a good size & pleasantly decorated.
The size of the bedroom. We were upgraded to a Classic Double Room from, presumably, a “ cosy “ room. Even with the upgrade the bedroom was tight on space width wise. There was only room for one bedside table & you could just about get down the other side of the bed. Goodness knows how “ cosy “ a cosy room would be if this was a classic room !
Very limited evening food menu .

Such a beautiful location, buildings and of course gardens!
The room was just a little small, little bit tired and very warm in the middle of the night..

Room was pokey for £159 per night. Supposed to be 'superior double' but very small. The website shows excellent looking rooms in main house, But you are carted off to small modern rooms in modern wing. When I complained about this was told the main house was fully booked - odd, as the hotel was virtually empty. Bed was hard. Pillows, duvet of very poor quality. Room too hot. Only towels for one person in double room. My sister, also staying, had breakfast which was pretty terrible and awful value at £19. We only stayed one night - although we had booked for 2 and decamped to Hanbury Manor which is excellent in every way and not much more expensive.

The building is beautiful and it was a lively location for a wedding.
The bed was comfortable and the room generally pleasant.
I use a wheelchair and requested a standard accessible room. I didn't like that I had to argue just to not have to pay more than the standard price for this room. If a hotel only has accessible rooms in the upper price range then this is not a premium that should be paid by the customer. At best this is unfair, at worst its outright discrimination.
When I got to my room, I didn't even find it to be very accessible. The 'accessible' door from the courtyard was extremely difficult to open and close (would be impossible for many disabled people). I could only just enter the room as the space was so tight. Again, this would be impossible for some wheelchair users.
I also found it impossible to use the shower as the seat was positioned in such a way that made it impossible to actually reach the shower.

Jacobean architecture
bedroom was poor really for price point, pillows were awful terrible nights sleep, mattress & duvet not much better. definitely didn’t meet expectations, receptionist however didn’t even ask on paying my invoice
2.5
Very nice , clean room. Best shower I’ve ever had in any hotel I’ve stayed at
Attitude of a one staff member on reception very questionable

The grounds are stunning

The main building and grounds were lovely . We'll appointed bathroom
The room was really small
2.5
Parking, gardens and the building aesthetic
Rooms where too hot. Shower jets didn’t work, extractor in bathroom didn’t work. There was a broken fan supplied in the room to deal with the heat.
2.0
Impressive! Lost some of its grandeur in unsympathetic extension and modernisation.
Rooms barely large enough to take a bed. Oppressively hot even with a supplied fan - a really uncomfortable couple of nights.

Very nice property in good location.
Breakfast was good but dinner was a small choice of standard pub fare. A property of this quality should have a decent dinner menu in the restaurant rather than the bar. The hotel was deserted and we had to walk round the reception rooms looking for a bar staff member. It was a bit like the Marie Celeste. Our bedroom was tiny and we had to go to reception to ask for a TV remote as this was missing from the room. For a hotel that was advertised as a luxury property it was very disappointing.
3.5
Room was same as we had stayed in previously. Larger than some rooms.
No blinds/net curtains at the windows so you had to keep the main (only) curtains shut to ensure privacy. Also the shower heads were only working say 50% and wanted cleaning. Finally breakfast at £18:95 is to expensive & not worth that amount.
2.0
beautiful grounds and room clean
-staff rude on checkout, not even a thank you.
-unacceptable pressure from the shower for the price of the room
-toilet didn’t even flush properly
4.5
Loved the old part of the hotel, that we were luckily enough to stay in.
Opted out of breakfast as very expensive. Decided to try a bar snack (burger and chips), which again was very expensive and have had better quality food for less elsewhere - the food was ok, but disappointing, for the price.
3.5
Food Excellent
Hair dryer blew up in my room, and burnt my skin, spoke to reception, they immediately took Hairdryer out, but no contact from Hotel Manager !
3.5
bedroom ensuite
Food was well presented and cooked.
better choice to menu would be lovely.
The corridor outside our room was very noisy with inconsiderate returning guests around 11pm. Not good when you have a 4am start to get to an airport.
