Never again.

We booked online seeing lovely photos pictured, when we turned up to the cabin it looked the complete opposite to the photos shown online. It was old, outdated, smelt, was not clean and the old heating system was a loud roaring noise all night, we wouldn’t not recommend at all and definitely not worth the money.

Great staff and location but not a good night's sleep.

Location. Walking distance to River Cruises, wharf. Bottle shop onsite. Good laundry and cooking facilities.

Whole cabin wasn't level on the ground, so beds were on a lean. Everything very tired looking. Bunk beds were hazardous. Were the flimsy metal variety.

We had a problem with accommodation which was IMMEDIATELY solved no questions asked and an upgrade was offered. Landscape was very inviting and would love to arrive in Summer.

Close to town.

Tired old cabin. It was raining . The roof leaked directly into the hanging cupboard which was unusable. Judging by the extensive black mould and damage on the roof this was an old leak that was obvious to anyone servicing the cabin. Health hazard. Should have been attended to month earlier.

When we booked there was no mention that we would be accommodated at the backpackers. We paid a lot thinking we had a cabin.

Totally ok for staying night before cruising

Location was Hood. Approx 10 min walk to the harbour were the restaurants are and were the boat cruising starts.

nice location. nice gardens. laundry on site. comfortable bed and couch.

the shower was tiny. hardly any water from the shower head. the exhaust fan automatically turns on when you turn the light on. freezing! difficult to get in and out of bed as there is about 20 cm between the bed and the wall - on both sides of the bed. while lying in bed, I could feel the vibrations of the person walking in the next cabin. They must have been heavy footed.

Hmmmm

Thought we had a cabin but it was a Dongar in the backpackers. Not really suitable for 2 old ladies.

Had to go outside in the freezing cold to go to the toilet during the night 🥺

Nice place to stay. Clean and centrally located. But reception staff should be more proactive.

The cabin was spotlessly clean,, The location was wonderful. I expected a lot more noise as all the cabins were in close proximity, but it was very quiet at night.

Check-in was at 3.00pm, but we happened to arrive at 2.45pm and asked if we could check-in 15 minutes earlier. But we were rufused. We were told they were having staff shortages. Yet there were 2 staff members in Reception and both of them were listening to the woes of the person in front of us. We had to wait till that person left so that one of them could attend to us.

Quiet comfortable cabin in Strahan and reasonably priced

The site is large with cabins at one end and caravans at the other. The cabin was clean and tidy with two bedrooms - one with a queen bed and the other with twin beds. Wished we could have taken up the use of the toboggans to go down the large sand dunes. We made use of the on-site general store which have early opening times (around 5:30 am). Kitchen was typical cabin layout with a full-size fridge. Bathroom was ok and there was enough hot water for both of us to have showers. Good parking with allocated bay near our cabin.

Using mobile texts to advise of check in procedures when the mobile coverage along the west coast of Tasmania is patchy at best. Reception staff was annoyed that the text wasn't read due to driving down the west coast and the poor mobile coverage. Internet coverage was extremely poor as they are using NBN satellites.
