Though it wasn't good, it wasn't horrible.
First, I paid to have the hotel taxi pick us up at the airport (double the price $7, instead of $3.50, which I understand because they have to park and wait with a sign). However, the taxi was old and dirty. He parked far away, had to walk, instead of saying "wait here, I will come get you", had to carry our own bags.
Though not his fault, almost all the roads to the hotel were closed for an annual parade. Instead of going around it, he kept trying different streets (that were obviously closed) and it took an hour to get to the hotel for a 15 minute drive that could have been 25 minutes had he just gone around.
The location was... okay. Not bad, not great.
The hotel is supposedly 4 star. Not sure where the other 2 came from, maybe when first built?
The hotel room is very smelly/musty/humid. Carpets.. not sure if ever cleaned. Bathroom was next to bed (friend at least had a room where it was away). The shower curtain is next to toilet... imagine how dirty that is as it is rarely cleaned.
Food is okay, but very expensive and very, very small portions. Breakfast buffet was below mediocre, but you can order things like an omelet or eggs benedict. I did that one day and got a 1 or 2 egg omelet. Not sure how they can even make it that small. So I ordered the eggs benedict. I got 1 egg on bread with some sauce. Not egg(s) benedict, but also not good (or bad) but definitely not filling.
For dinner, ordered something and it was like $20 for a tiny portion of meat with sauce. Not even worth $5.
Reception was very confusing with instructions. I had booked both rooms for 2 people each in case, well, "company" for an hour or more... So, I asked if there was any additional charge or a "guest" and was told no. Great. Next day, I had a guest come... same employee took a copy of her ID and we went to the room. Had to go out 5 minutes later to buy something.

Excellent front desk service. Special thanks to Christian who advised us about the safety in the area and arranged a taxi for us promptly whenever needed.
Free breakfast was semi-buffet style and egg/omelette was made to order.
We would like a coffee maker or kettle in the room.

Did not stay for breakfast
My husband had his wallet stolen within 5 minutes of entering the lobby to check in. It had much of our vacation money in it. We wonder why an upscale hotel such as yours would have such ready thieves within its entrance and why the security is so poor?
