A very good option to stay in Mumbai.

Excellent location! Close to Colaba Market, walking distance to all the landmarks, the Gateway of India, the Taj Palace, Leopold Cafe. Good price and professional staff. We'll come back.

Liked the location and staff’s welcoming behavior. Rest I don’t suggest at the given price range.

Location was good, staffs were nice!

Not as expected.. I booked a city view room but there was a huge construction going on just beside the hotel blocking the entire view with disturbances from early morning. AC was making disturbing noise all the time! We expect much from a hotel at that price range and even basic amenities like toothbrush, shaving mirror / kits were missing. And the worst part was breakfast with minimal choice and no buffet.

Excellent location walking distance from the Gateway of India and near shops, restaurants and street markets. Breakfast was great. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and clean.

The location was great, walking distance to the Gateway of India, shopping places and restaurants. The room was quite spacious, comfortable and clean. Hotel staff were very helpful and cooperative. We had an enjoyable stay :)

The service and hospitality of all the hotel management staff was cordial. They were forever ready to help us through our concerns. The service was prompt. It was extremely clean with a limited but good quality breakfast

There was a little in-house construction that caused noise disturbances while work commitments

Oasis of calm amidst frenetic Mumbai life !

An oasis of calm ! Relaxing old world charm with excellent amenities and good location. Only a ten minute walk to the Gateway of India. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Friendly and comfortable

Having never been to India before I didn't know what to expect, especially for such an affordable price, but the hotel was actually pretty nice! It's clear it needs a bit of TLC, but the room was massive, had lovely floors and bathroom (marble effect) a lift, 24hr security and reception (and the security guard was the loveliest man ever) located right by the gateway to India and other tourist hotspots. It was also a relatively quiet location for such a busy city. The hotel also had a lift and as a female traveller, I felt safe staying here. I would recommend staying here for a budget break away to Mumbai.

The room was a little run down - the blinds had a couple of stains on them, the bathroom had a mould issue on the ceiling due to inadequate ventilation and some of the lights didn't work (there were a lot of light switches!) but none of these things were major issues! Some of the other guests leave their doors open slightly (not sure if this is a cultural thing?) but due to the marble walls and floors, the sound echoed. Speaking to friends staying in another hotel, they had the same issue, so just to be aware! Also it you want a view-this is not the place to stay!

Excellent stay and highly recommended.

The hotel is in one of the best locations of Colaba. Very close to the Gateway of India and Taj Mahal Hotel. Good and peaceful locality. My room was upgraded to the deluxe room. It was a good spacious room with expert room service and reception. Very satisfied with the morning breakfast. Also 1 bottle of Bisleri was provided to each of us on each day. Highly recommended.

The bathroom and storage should have more hooks for ease of managing clothes and towels. Also a doormat should have been placed outside the entrance of the bathroom because after using it we were entering the room with wet feet which is not okay.

The hotel is awesome and is clean. The staff is very polite and friendly. The breakfast was very yummy and healthy. The hotel is behind the Taj Palace Hotel and is very convenient for shopping and visiting Gateway of India, Colaba, Nariman Point, and Marine Drive. We will visit again soon. Thank you, Ascot Team
