Beware of Falsely Advertised “Luxury” Resort which in Reality is a Below Average Wildlife Sanctuary Resort
Even though the staff was clearly poorly trained to serve at a “luxury”resort, they were nice in their interactions
Extremely misleading advertising of the resort on Booking. It lacks any luxury aspect nor does it ever mention that it is a wildlife sanctuary. It obviously can’t be considered something “negative”, but it needs to be properly communicated, as there as bats and all other forms of wildlife roaming around the resort. Some guests may not want to experience this during their so called “luxurious” stay Villas by the beach are outdated and showing severe signs of wear and tear. Water pressure was nonexistent in the villa we initially moved in to, as well as having a creaky floor with a main door that was broken at the bottom. We requested to be moved a more modern type of accommodation and we were first told that it wouldn’t be possible (even though the website clearly showed availability throughout our stay). After confronting the guest services team with this information, we were told that they could move us to a different room, but only for one night and thereafter we would have to switch rooms another 2 times due to constraints in room availability. Again, after more pressuring we were then told that indeed there would be a room available for the rest of our stay without the need to move. The question becomes why did we have such poor service when our ask could have been accommodated from the start? This new room type was 15% cheaper in total than our initial Vila, and after many conversations with staff and even asking for the manager, we were never compensated nor offered an adjustment. The food at the restaurant was quite lackluster and expensive for Philippines standards, and at night the staff would try to enforce the “evening themed menu” instead of allowing us to order from the normal menu. The common areas were quite dirty most of times, and the beach chairs spread across the resort were not cleaned not even once in the 3 nights we were there, with clear dirtiness built up over time coupled with animal feces that was already intertwined with the chairs.

Island paradise
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Club Paradise! The beach and coral reefs are incredible and are the stand out this hotel. Another unexpected highlight of this stay was the huge monitor lizards all over the property - they even like to join you for breakfast 😆 Would recommend staying here if you’re ok with basic facilities and it not being in a luxury resort. Enjoy the beautiful surrounds and lap up the incredible sunset. Here are some other key takeaways: - Fantastic staff with a huge shout out to the F&B team of Grace, Shaun and Meriele (by the pool) - Fantastic diving with the team at the resort - Stayed in a new wing which was really nice - Food/drinks are relatively cheap for an island resort - Focus on sustainability and reef preservation - Incredible wildlife in the reefs surrounding the hotel. Loved seeing turtles everyday 😍
- The garden room they put us in initially had black mould all around the ceiling. Having said that, they moved us as soon as we complained about it. It didn’t seem like an unknown issue to staff which was concerning - Common areas and pathways around the resort are quite dated/tired but this is completely outweighed by the beauty of the natural environment. - Staff around the pool are on island time re drink orders. Totally fine but something to be aware of

Give it a miss. Very disappointing
Highly disappointing experience. We stayed 5 nights (far too long and a waste of money). I am so confused that this hotel has won so many awards (apparently)... Let's start with the positive: - Stunning island, as highlighted by many other reviews. It is gorgeous and the nature around it is beautiful - Aircon in our Garden Room was exceptional - Food got better during the stay, day by day - The lounges by the pool are comfortable - Daily treats and snacks delivered to your room - Management of the arrival/departure transfers was very good ------
What did not go well? - The check in reception is absolutely terrible. The welcome drink, served by a miserable bar-lady, was warm and unappetizing - The reception area is extremely hot and uncomfortable - Our room was not ready, so we waited, and even after check in hour, it was still not ready until we made a fuss. - Service is, overall, terrible! Yes, most of the staff are friendly once you interact with them, but it feels like this property is being run and managed by students who have zero training on customer experience or etiquette. There is no attention to you at all. Bar service at the pool is essentially non-existent, you have to wave someone down to order anything. Service at the restaurant is just as horrific. When eventually you flag someone down to take you order, they eventually bring it and disappear. No clearance of plates of glasses, no offering of additional drinks or desert - complete neglect for a hotel that seems to think they are of hight standard. - The breakfast is mediocre. The egg station is a mess with one, sometimes two (if you are lucky) people trying to accommodate everyone's orders. They run out of water/juice glasses often. Tables are dirty, there is no welcome host, you navigate your way to try find an empty table....very 3* or less experience - We booked two tours: A) Island Hopping: Was beautiful nature and Noelle and team did a great job. But there was zero communication from reception on where to meet to start the tour, what was included etc. When we questioned the reception, they were clueless on how to manage us and advise accordingly B) Sunset Cruise: Waste of money. Zero value - don't do this. The boat is not conducive to the experience - Housekeeping is slow. Often our room was only cleaned after 2pm or 3pm in the afternoon - Wifi is terrible or non-existent in the rooms. There is basically no cellphone reception on the island. - The spa is basic, 3* standard.

Pricey but worth it.
Unique and luxury experience. Lovely island, amazing coral reefs just 10 meters from the beach. The bed was the biggest I’ve ever seen in a hotel. Breakfasts are great. The restaurant is also mainly great, though some positions like pizza are much worse in quality and taste than other dishes. Lots of things to do on an island and also several tours available. Would definitely come back again and already recommended to many of our friends.
We never had a welcome foot wash after 3 reminders.
