Really nice welcome on arrival. The accommodation is spacious and well equipped. We loved the location and the fact that there is a footpath right next to the place that takes you up into the hills.

We loved the location - the trails in the forest behind the house are spectacular. A local restaurant and bar are only 1km walk.
The lounge was very cosy. The underfloor heating and fire made it hard to leave the rug on the floor.
The bed was big and comfy.
The kitchen was well equipped and a pleasure to cook in.
The outdoor seating areas - they catch the sun and have magnificent views of the forest and sea.
The welcome fruit - grown in the garden - was unexpected and incredibly appreciated. The homemade wine is dangerously delicious - perhaps some of the best wine we have tried.
The fresh bread delivery every morning - if you leave €1.10 in a bag on the front door handle.
The entrance corridor - big enough to store our bicycles within.
The friendly owners..

Beautiful house in the north-east of La Palma (we stayed in the red house). The host is very friendly. At the start of our stay, she offered us a bag full of delicious avocados and bananas. Also, throughout our stay, she was easily reachable. We even got a Christmas present :)
The house is clean, practical, with a comfortable bed and a cozy couch next to the fire place. The kitchen has most of the necessary utensils. The bathroom has a bathtub and a washing machine. There is also a terrace with a view to the ocean, from where, if you are lucky, you can see the sun raising over El Teide.
The property is rated very nicely, therefore we had very high expectations. Although in general we liked our stay, there are some things that could have been better and made our stay more pleasant.
First, although there is a fire place, there was no way to start a fire (and in December, you do need a fire after the sun sets). There were plenty of logs (which were not very dry due to the high humidity of the area), but no fire starter or kindling. Since the host did not mention anything about it, we spend 1-2 hours in the first evening trying to get a fire started, until we decided to give up.
Second, the place was not "ready" for a long-term stay (2 weeks) and some crucial utensils were missing, such as a cutting board, a big frying pan, sharp knives, salt, pepper, soap. Although there was a washing machine, there was no detergent. All of these things could have been offered at very small cost and significantly improve our experience.
Third, as already mentioned, the place was very clean... when we arrived. During our two-week stay, no cleaning services or towel change were offered. Due to the high humidity, the towels were always moist (except the first time) and we couldn't wash them, since we had no spares. Also, since there was no vacuum cleaner or other cleaning utensils, we could not clean for ourselves.
Finally, the most disappointing thing was the terrace. Don't get me wrong, the view from it is amazing, but this is true for most of the places on this amazing island. The pictures are very misleading. The terrace of the red house is actually quite small and, from most places on it, the view is obstructed by the blue house. However, the thing that really ruined it for us, were the chickens, which were pooping all over the place. We did inform the host that the chickens were loose, but nothing was really done about it. As a result, multiple times I had to pick up chicken poop, not the most pleasant activity in a vacation.

A lovely traditional property set in a beautiful rural area. The property had everything needed for a lovely self catering holiday. The property was very well equipped, comfortable and warm, with great views from the garden.
