Welcoming and relaxing and handy there was an EV charger. Saved us going to the interchange.
Breakfast was plentiful as well as a nice secure garden for our grandgirls to play in.

They cancelled my booking with no reason whatsoever, so I had to pay double to go elsewhere - I had booked for the Easter weekend so as you can imagine the prices were very expensive for such a last minute booking.
3.3
lovely atmosphere friendly staff
not a lot of choice in the bar
3.3
The people I was with made all the bad things laughable so that softened it
Bed was outrageous, springs were felt through mattress and very poorly made covers.
Staff were unsafely strethe between all areas.bar was under stocked considering there was a function and very very slow service.breakfast had been out and not refreshed so under welded by that
3.3
very cheap. quiet. bonus breakfast on the weekend.
Covid era so very basic staff cover. the breakfast facility was passable . Coffee machine broken, but not the end of the world. noisy road sounds from outside but this was cheap as chips. so it’s basic but perfectly usable.
3.3
location, fabulous breakfast and breakfast staff, good size room, easy free parking,
Shoddy general maintenance- both bedside lamps had broken shades and didn’t work, shower leaked over floor, towels were changed daily despite hanging up as requested if one didn’t want them changed, no blankets in room, only one pillow per bed, tv remote was missing
3.3
Good location. Plenty of car parking. Large comfortable room.
The toilet in our bathroom did not flush. We reported it at reception on Friday evening as soon as we had arrived. We were told that nothing could be done until the next day, which we accepted as the relevant staff had gone home for the night. However, after leaving at 08-30 the next day and not returning until about 15-00 we found that the toilet was no better. Having to use the toilets at reception throughout our stay was unnacceptable.

The location
The shower was so dated no pressure. Pillows thin. TV didn't work properly. The twin room had been renovated so much better.
3.3
The food was really good and staff were friendly
None
3.3
everything
apart from mattress springs we’re old and uncomfortable and the shower was very old you could not take shower head down to rinse properly it was just a metal pipe with metal shower head joined on to the pipe
3.3
Food was better than the reviews so that was a relief
Carpet in the room was filthy - did some yoga stretching and it had not been well vacuumed - the room was hot and airless- and noisy near the main road but could not open window for fresh air - Hotel was definitely tired and in need of an update. Had originally booked 3 nights but relieved we only stayed for 1 night.
3.3

It was near to where we were going out for the night.
Our room was very dirty with stains on the curtains, lampshades and bedding, dust was around the edges of the carpet, the toilet was stained a little bit of bleach would have worked wonders, the plug hole in the face basin was pitted and rusty, the shower needs updating. we couldn’t use the spa facilities as unknown to us you have book a slot, when we went down for a morning swim we were turned away. We didn’t spend very long in the reception area of the hotel because it didn’t look very clean and inviting.
3.3
nothing
staff rude we were given wrong times for breakfast and therefore were late and didn’t get breakfast the room was cold our phone didn’t work so couldn’t order room service
3.3

Superb hotel ,staff very friendly ,been going Thier for a few months as I visit daughter in Colchester ,and they except small dogs ,but they also remember my dog by her name
Nothing to dislike ,great position as for Colchester ,Ipswich ,Felixstowe etc
3.3
The bed in my room was huge, very comfy and provided an excellent night's sleep. The room along with the rest of the hotel was clean and well presented.
The breakfast was great.
This might sound picky but the tap in the bathroom was terrible. It was like a mixer tap but with 2 separate streams of water which meant 1 stream of very hot and 1 stream of cold instead of a single stream at a comfortable temperature.

Price
Rude staff, dirty rooms
